I love reading all the comments from people talking about how they relate to Luz and this scene. Thank you for your comments and sharing why this moment was relatable for you. I just wanted to say that no matter who you are or where you’re from, you’re important. You deserve people who love, support and understand you. Keep being you and don’t let anyone else try to put you down for being yourself. You’ve got this 💜
This is why I hope Luz at least gets a new portal so she can continue to visit the demon realm, I want her to continue to grow as a person and face new challenges on both Earth and the demon realm I mean what’s the point of learning all these life lessons on another world of you don’t use them back on Earth to improve your old life into something better, so I think when Luz talks about going back home she’s probably gonna change her mind about staying there forever and promises to come back occasionally also showing that staying in a fantasy world won’t solve all your problems, but I know the ending won’t be without some tragedy.
Still love how Luz knew she was loved and cherished and cared for by everyone but it was only when Camila herself unmasked for the first time in front of her daughter that she truly felt understood. You can love someone without understanding them but understanding someone is one of the most powerful ways to make them feel loved
@@dylansharp8471 amity is a good kid and a great girlfriend for luz but she's not gonna be able to relate to luz's experiences as a neurodivergent person of color (in a human society no less) and thats okay
@@dylansharp8471 I think acceptance/understanding from peers is quite different from receiving that same support from family or mentors. Neurodivergent kids in particular are often led to believe (if not outright told) that a core aspect of their identity/self is just immaturity, and if they don't have any role models who are similar to them and/or supportive, they might internalize the idea that they can't grow up to be successful or do what they love without changing who they are.

This scene gets me so teary-eyed. There’s something so poignant about a parent who already was ready to accept her child as she was, finally coming to understand her in a way she needed. And what’s more, Camilla goes as far to highlight her own mistakes as a person and a parent. She doesn’t even hesitate to admit that her biggest mistake was trying to change her daughter into something other than the beautiful good witch she is. Even if she did so out of love and wanting to protect, she realized that wasn’t what Luz needed. I don’t see enough media actually showcase how good parents can make mistakes that affect their kids but even more when they admit that it wasn’t necessarily the right thing. Camilla is one of the most layered and nuance parents in anything, not just animation, and I love how her character has evolved as we saw the bond between her and Luz.
As an autistic queer person myself who had always felt detached from society, this scene meant so much to me. Thank you, Dana Terrace and everyone else who worked on this show.
God this show isn't scared to be vulnerable. It drives me up the fucking wall how in so much of our media, not just kids cartoons, is so embarrassed to be real and raw without interrupting the moment with needless plot or comic relief. It was more than enough for these two to simply share a moment with one another, and I'm glad the show runners agree with me.

This is literally me still with my mom at nearly 30. It's all anyone, but especially us ND people, want more than just about anything else (y'know aside from societies that support us instead of try to erase us). This makes me cry because it's so beautiful and I wish more parents would realize that kids can put up with a lot if they have a strong support system that backs them up, not tries to change them to "stop the bullying" because that never actually works...it just makes your kid feel even more like an outsider. "I don't know why it took me so long to figure out." It took me into my early 20s to realize it, and I still haven't been able to fully convey it to my mom.
I think it's very good that this revelation happened between Luz and her mum. Her mum opens up about shared lived experiences and expresses regret and guilt at the way she treated Luz, and Luz feeling Seen by her Mama. Perhaps some viewers who watch this scene might feel comforted that perhaps it's still possible to have that connection again with a loved one.

@@SeinIshamiado what's even the point of your comment ?
ik this is heartwarming but the boom cut off at the end had me rolling-
0:55 the perfect ending for any video tbh
This scene made me cry twice
And the best part is, Luz's palisman is like her. It knows that it doesn't matter what it is or what it isn't, and so can become anything
NGL this bought tears to my eyes
The ending bro 😭😭😭😂😂😂 0:55
I was confused at first because I thought her palaceman was a ball lol. Great episode
okay everyone’s talking about “oh this is so heartwarming!!!” but. the explosion at the end??? funniest thing.
