I love the Fact(heheh) that this intro basically tells so much about the story and you only pick it up when you play the game. You even see Cain several times. Dalles also looks great here. I think the only major character left out is Zava.
This opening sequence is just amazing, a great start to my favorite Ys title (I love that bit toward the end where the song gets more intense as the camera pans away from Dalles at the tower's summit.)

@slShin Personally I've always liked the first game's opening a bit more than the others, but every opening has something that I love about them.. This one has one of the better themes and sets the prologue and atmosphere of the game in a very clear manner.

With animation like this, this game (and almost any Ys game) ABSOLUTELY DESERVES an anime adaption
There's already been an Ys anime for the past.. 15+ years or so.

I just started playing this game a few minutes ago, and had to watch it again here because it's so amazing.
You need to beat this game for three times. And then you will be able to find all background stories of YS 1&2.

First Ys game I played. I connected to Hugo on a personal level, really fucking loved his story, can't wait to play the other characters.
The song is beyond the beginning if anyone is wondering. It's epic.
It's the best opening over Ys series IMHO.

I love how im still stuck in the flooded prison and i made it to the boss area, however i forgot to get the medallion-
Medallion is in underwater part with turtles. It has one breakable wall which contains the medallion.
Wish every Ys gets a PC version, its best played there IMO
only played 1,2,3,6, and Origins
Play ys 4 for the PC engine.
