Common Problems 1. Can’t create a deformer (error: please create an object with same parent deformer selected) Make sure your selected elements are of the same hierarchy! So you can’t select child layers/deformers and the parent deformer together. You can click the little ( v ) above the deformer window until it becomes ( ﹥ ) and it will collapse the deformers, so you can better tell what’s on the same hierarchy. This tutorial has so far been an absolute wonder and I've been able to follow everything perfectly! Until I ran into a very big problem ajdgajsgdf. Your example model doesn't have any human ears, but mine does! And I cannot for the life figure out how to create the xy movement for the ears since they need to be essentially layered adove the head when it's turned to one side, and below when turned to the other side if that makes sense?? I am crushed, it was all going so well! ;o;
Oh haha so i just have human ears be layered below the face+front hair, above the neck! If you really need to layer the ear on top of face and change the layer order when turning, you could reference how I change the draw order in the body tut: ruclips.net/video/Sie36dd1Q7Q/видео.htmlsi=_rhb42IrTls7_2MN&t=157
Tyty! Yes so synthesizing corners will undo your 4 corner work, bc it’s basically takes your XY extremes and calculates the 4 corners accordingly, so it will overwrite your existing adjustments! I basically try my best to cover all the corner work with headXY, but if you do have adjustments needing to be done on other deformers, yes just reflect and ignore the pop off!
@@MerelyWufeii oh okay! Then i think i understood 11:12 incorrectly? Everthys going fine either way so thank you very much for the tutorial !!! Im super fascinated by how well everythings working !!!💖💖💖
Hi Merely! Thank you for the tutorial! I’ve been doing great up until this point. At the 0:21 mark or where you put everything together I run into a problem. When I try to make “Head XY” as a deformer it says: Please create an object with the same parent deformer selected. I’m now lost lol. I’m thinking maybe it’s because in the top left box (sorry idk what the name is lol) my “Head Z” isn’t a folder it’s just combined with the rest of the contents? I know you don’t have to but if you could please attempt to explain how I could fix this I’d be super appreciative!
what would you do for Head xy if you have long hair on the front? (i mean almost to the feet kind of long). how do you go about deforming stuff with that in the way? is there a bezier division number you reccomend?
I would still use the same logic, but drag hair front XY out of head XY because it doesn’t follow the head form as much! Division number wise, maybe no more than 20 bc I am afraid of live2d getting laggy, but up to your preferences!
i still cant find a solution to the cant create a deformer parent deformer problem ahhh.. when i try to select everything in head z it all gives me that and it alll in the order you have too...
Hi! Im trying to select head z and it selects all of them but when I put them in the warp deformer it only puts head shadow and blush when I selected the ones I got told to select? Help please.
It won’t let me make the Head say deformer. It says, please create an object with the same parent deformer selected. What do I do? Oh wait nvm I just saw the thing
So I had to fix my hierarchy with my eyes on the model, but then when I made a deformer for head xy, it just is showing a red square and I can't move it or do anything, and it doesn't show the grid. When I put the number of conversion divisions as 20 x 18, it gave me a warning.
For the red square problem, check if your folder or deformer is set as visible? And I usually ignore the warnings, maybe they will slow down your software a little but no big deal
@@MerelyWufeii I did not get the notification for this till now for some reason XD I checked if the deformer was visible and it was checked visible, I tried checking it on and off again and had no luck. I ended up having to delete it and re-insert the art mesh via PSD file. It was a weird bug that had happened and I don't know what I did that caused that problem.
Now im having an issue when i move an item it makes the whole item move and it wont fix it back unless i fix it back on the solid one but it keeps going back n forth between this wahh Edit: fixed it bc the keyfames kept being deleted for some reason? lol
I am using my own model, and when I select everything inside of head Z in order to create the head xy deform, but it tells me to "please create a deformer with the same parent deformer selected". I looked it up and the fix for this seems to be only selecting deform meshes, but i see you have the bangs selected and other things that arent deformed at all, and arent having any issues. are you aware of anything i could do to fix this?
nevermind, i immediatley found a fix. just incase anyone else runs into this issue, just make sure you specifically dont have anything that IS set to a deform mesh selected.
wish you would have actually walked through everything rather than just posting a solution in the comments, tutorials great except for all the miss labeled parts, the reflecting, not showing what items your clicking on to be able to create the deformer, ect. Not a hater, but extremely frustrated because i feel at this point I need to restart my model and use a different tutorial because of all the back tracking. Why are we renaming deformers rather than naming them correctly in the first place. why are we using reverse language when you could have just labeled left as left rather than labeling it right and needing to correct to left. I get its mirrored but you could still name the parts correctly so we arnt playing a reversal game. Your models are beautiful but this isnt 100% a beginner friendly tutorial, ive had to go back and slow down everything multiple times just to see what layers your clicking onto to understand how your getting your deformers. also you explain everything except how deformer hierarchies work.
This is a faster paced tutorial bc that is what keeps me attentive, and I def recommend slowing things down if you need it! I named my parts in a more intuitive way which is the reverse of what the program defaults to, and I didn’t change the program’s default naming bc I didn’t want more confusion plus its was too late to change. Only the eyes are reversed, so you’re good once you get past that🙏 Renaming deformers is only bc it’s an easier practice to copy paste instead of creating a new one and having to resize+recenter. I do regret not explaining deformer hierarchy but I did post an infographic on it in my discord FAQ, otherwise a quick search on live2d hierarchy could help!
