Thank you for posting. I'm having issues with my wifi adapter randomly disappearing from my laptop and wanted to re-seat the wifi adapter but couldn't see it after removing the bottom. Spotted it at 3:32 underneath the M.2 drive on the left side. Saved me from having to randomly removing parts until I found it. Cheers!

@@pranaypatil8477 The wifi adapter disappearing is normal for this model, I had the same issue. Although, BSOD's and freezes aren't regular for this model. You should send your laptop into ASUS.

I have this same laptop and last year, my graphics card went...Now, people have told me that it's impossible to replace this myself. I understand that I will have to replace the motherboard, GPU and CPU in order to do this. But now I'm thinking I might be able to do it myself after all. What are your thoughts on this please? Should I be able to or would it be better to bring it to a pc repair shop?
its a lot easier to do than youd think. the GPU and CPU come already soldered to the board so you really just have to buy the replacement main board and follow along the video. It's pretty easy to do this stuff if youre patient and careful. I recommend getting a good set of tools to do it. iFixIt sells fantastic electronic tool kits and their screwdriver bits are top tier for quality. I've been using my iFixIt Screwdriver kit for probably 8 years now and all the bits are still as perfect as the day I bought it. Cheap kits the bits will sheer slowly over time so its worth getting a good set once.
the only thing you really need to be careful about while working is removing/inserting the ribbon cables. they are delicate and if you arent careful they can tear, or the traces in them can break causing intermittent connectivity issues.
The other thing you want to be careful/cautious about is your thermal paste. get a good quality brand name like ArcticFox and make sure you dont overdo it on applying it, ONLY to the chips, you don't want it slopping over the sides & onto the PCB board when you reinstall the heatsink/heat pipes... thermal paste can corrode the board over time.
Also, depending on what model you got when you purchased, having to replace a motherboard/mainboard can be a fantastic time to upgrade! If you picked a lower tier model at the time of purchase you can usually choose to grab a higher tier motherboard for when you replace it. with the A15/A17/F15/F17 models the only thing you typically need to ensure compatability with is the screen, some higher tier models will have (for example) a 165Hz WQHD screen which requires a different VGA cable that includes a MUX, whereas the lower tier model with a 144Hz screen does not require a MUX. Also make sure the board you get matches your EDT pin number. some Motherboards connect to a 30 pin, and some connect to a 40 pin.
Take for example my situation:
I recently got a (2021) ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX506HC off Mercari for $180 because it had a bad motherboard (everything else was perfectly fine). It was upgraded by the previous owner to have a 2TB NVME SSD and 64GB of DDR4 3200Mhz RAM.
The F15 FX506HC was built factory with an Intel i5-11400H CPU an RTX 3050 4GB GPU, and a 144Hz FHD IPS screen.
I managed to negotiate for a brand new motherboard from the (2021) ASUS TUF Gaming FX506HM model for only $290.
The F15 FX506HM was built factory with an Intel i9-11900H CPU an RTX 3060 6GB GPU, and either a 144Hz FHD IPS or a 240Hz FHD IPS screen. (so I can continue using the 144Hz panel that is already in mine without an issue).
So between the cost of the F15 with bad motherboard and the replacement i9/RTX 3060 motherboard I'm only in for $470 total.
If I upgrade the display from the factory 144Hz panel (which all the 144Hz panels the A15/F15 models ship with are GARBAGE) to the 240Hz (sRGB 100%) panel I just need the Panel [$120] and the matching VGA screen cable [$15] and it'll be a WORLD of difference.
even with all that It'd still only be $605. (not even including the free $160 64GB RAM upgrade $180 2TB SSD upgrade the previous owner did)
The cheapest I can even find a used 2021 ASUS TUF F15 with the i9-11900H + RTX 3060 + 240Hz FHD IPS screen for online is $1,200... so for $605 it's a steal!
Just something to consider.
If it's not something you're super comfortable with you can also find someone to do it for you pretty cheap. I have a ton of customers who will send me their PC's, Laptops/ Phones/ Consoles/ etc & the repair parts to fix for them and I usually do the work for less than $100.
