Hi, Friends, welcome to my channel. Today I am sharing my budget pencil collection. Budget pencils are those that I paid under a $100 or come in tins and are just a bit nicer than the budget-budget pencils.
I wanted to make a correction, Prismacolor pencils are not a budget set. I put them by accident. My brain was seeing the size of the tin and I added them. I apologize for any confusion. 🙈😬😵

What is your favorite budget set?
I wanted to apologize as I put the Prisma's in this category. My brain was seeing the size of the tin, so although they were under a $100, they are NOT budget pencils. Again, I apologize.
Crayola Colored Pencils and Cra-Z-art and sargent art colored pencil
Scholar pencils, the student version of Prismas are my fav budget pencils.

I was going to say take a seat and let me count them….lol but I love STABILO Originals, they only come in a 36 set and the Staedtler Design Journey.
Walk pass the Staedtler Noris….you might regret buying that one.
They are thin and firm, made in Germany, excellent quality with good pigments. I have a collection of Kalour too but i honestly haven’t used them much to even have an opinion. Another fave is the good old red package Faber-Castell Classic, seen as student or school pencils….they can layer until your hands are tired.
I wouldn’t say Lyra are budget pencils, well here they are midrange prices. Nice pencils, love them.

Lovely collection! :) I have prismas too. My fav budget set is probably my brutfuner macarons just because I don’t have anything quite like them.

I have no issue with Prisma being included, they are the lowest cost artist grade and easily affordable on a budget, they have a ton of smaller sets available to start with, including three themed sets of 12 that I know of (floral, sea, and landscape.. the first two are available at Target for $10 each), and are easily collected a few at a time in open stock allowing you to expand your collection to just the colors you want. Choosing an open stock pencil is a very cost effective step, you can replace a used up pencil without having to buy an entire new set and both Michaels and Hobby Lobby sell a large selection so they are available in most areas without having to pay shipping costs. You can even buy the smaller sets at Walmart.

I have the Brutfuner 120 square set aloud with the Brutfuner Macaron set I put them together in the same case. The Arteza 120 or the Markart 120 are catching my eye along with the Kalour 240 set. I'm wanting to get Prismacolor because most of the artist that do the color along use them I'm just can't get over the thought that something will keep breaking the way I've heard..idk..the Arteza or the Markart will be my next favorite sets..it would be nice if their was a pencil with the Prismacolor core and colors but the the Arteza pencil quality. I love the bigger pencils..ok that it I guess. Love your videos..

WOW! Just amazing collection you have here regardless! Wish I have such collections like that for pencils. 😲 has been working really hard to get everything replaced after being robbed 3 yrs ago but it's coming along awfully slow so far. Like I have 2 different set of black widow, a case of miscellaneous different of prismacolors from different friends because they were trying to help me get a full set of 150 that was stolen from me, and I have a set of castle arts that I gave to my daughter because I didnt like them. Also got a set of arrtx, a tin of 12 poly pencils from a friend, and a set of star joys gold. My daughter actually ends up getting a lot more from my friends than me because she loves to color and I want keep encouraging her to keep coloring that she loves to do. Lol Again, you truly have some awesome sets, you're making me jelly of you and your collection. 😍😍

@@LindaLearnstoColor Yes, we're slowly building back up everything we once had, but this isn't the first time we ended up having to do so. Lol And heck yea, it takes a very long time to do all of that, especially with a fixed/limited income once a month, so it's a lot harder but doable with saving $5 per month or so. Still short of a couple of sets, then after getting those, the coloring books is next. Lol I'm just thankful that the whole family loves to color 😍

My favorite Budget Colored Pencil is Crayola Colored Pencils 120 and Cra-Z-Art Colored Pencils 100

I don't think Lyra oil based are budget, but they are a cheaper alternative to Polychromos. I like the smoothness of lyra but being narrow and from hard wood, they made my fingers ache a little. For budget, I have Brutfuner square 120, indra pastel colored - 36, star joy gold 120, and castle arts wax based 72. I decided I didn't want any more big sets. Castle 72 set needs more grays and pastels but I use them along with the Indras pastels. My more pricy pencils are polychromos 80 bought individually. And Prismacolor, a vintage set of 48 given to me over 30 years ago and enough to have nearly a complete set of 150. I also have a set of 18 Lyra giants from the 1990s. I hope I can keep from buying more as there are enough for the rest of my life.

@@LindaLearnstoColor the Lyra giants give a nice coverage. The set was given to me from my brother. I can't seem to attach any photos in this message. There are only 18 colors but you can do a lot with light and shade contrasts.
The vintage Prismacolors say Eagle and my friend says he got them in the 1970's.
im a new collector but i find my self loving pencils oh who am i kidding i love all art i like to at least try it once if i dont like it i can donate you have a marvelous collection

Oh my, that is so hard. I really like the Brutfunner Square pencils are really nice. I have used them in my Amazon paper coloring books and they worked well.

I really like the Prang and cra-z-arts. For a budget-budget set they are pretty nice.
