- What is the favourite Toronto suburb? There’s Pickering, Markham, Oakville, Vaughan, Etobicoke, and arguably, Scarborough, to name a few.
On this episode of Ask Toronto, Vrajesh Dave finds out where people prefer to hang out when they’re not perusing the streets of downtown.

Aurora for the spaciousness and beautiful parks, Richmond Hill for the convenience of being close to everything and Woodbridge for shopping and restaurants!
Scarborough, where I grew up
Scarborough ! Home of the mullet.
I would vote for North York, specifically the areas surrounding fairview mall. Plenty of places to spend time at and meet new people. Personally living in Markham is just way too separated from the 'real' Toronto. Also it's basically a Chinatown in itself.
Scarborough!
My favourite, Scarborough. Least favourite, Etobicoke.
An equivalent house is Scarb is like 2-300k less than in Etobicoke...
Favourite: Oakville
Least favourite: halton hills (Georgetown/acton). Because it feels less like a Toronto suburb and more like a suburb of Guelph or some kind of country town
South/Central Etobicoke is the best really, low density, clean, quiet and fast access to DT Toronto.
They’re all the same, car dependant wastelands lol
Oakville !
Mississauga
'Sauga! It's got a bit of everything.
Liberty village and Parkdale best suburb in Toronto
Richmond Hill - obvious
Halton Hills is my favourite suburb (despite me living in the U.S. and Never been to Canada)
I'll take Mississauga or Markham anytime over Montreal.
Is Aurora too far to be qualified?
Yep
Actually maybe no because aurora is far but gta is big and aurora is in gta
No since it’s in York region, it’s still a Toronto suburb
No Oakville?
The Beach
I would vote for Thornhill, Mississauga and also Pickering.
Oakville bez it is near the lake and good forest
Scarborough
They're all the same, you can't tell one from another. 😂
I would have said Any thing north of HWY 7 / Queen Street
North York and Scarberia
I am from Oakville
Pickering
Pretty much anywhere is great where freedumbers don't live.
Oakville is not a suburb of Toronto lol Greektown is, or Little Italy, or Little India lol city news conservatives are dumb as mud lol
Does no one like Etobicoke!?
Wow, s/o to the camera woman, Scarborough Side East End!!! not one person said Scarborough c'mon!!
Markham ^..^
None

It's too bad these people couldn't remain in the suburbs, rather than over crowding the city and bringing unnecessary traffic congestion.
So the people that go into the city work there daily and spend money there daily. If they don't, Toronto collapses. If you need proof, look at the SARS pandemic and look at the COVID pandemic. Ask shops in the PATH how it goes when suburbanites don't go into the city and spend their money. I mean, that is if they are still in business.
You'll have no traffic issues but your cost for public transportation will balloon. Your taxes will go up. Your food costs will go up to cover the loss in volume. Your choices will be less because less people can't shop at all available locations and things will close.
I don't live in the city. I have no need to go there. I do have a basic understanding of the economics of the situation and the previous experience of what it looks like when people flee the city. I used to like to go to Toronto to shop. When the pandemics hit and people abandoned the city like rats leaving a sinking ship, I return to relive the good old days where people were polite and not so self centered. I patronize stores and shops that need financial help. All of the city rats and actual rats fled to the suburbs. We want you to take all your rats and people that don't love anything but themselves back. If you get what you want, remember I told you so. Your taxes are going to double.
The only good thing to come out of Toronto is the 401
nothing says Toronto like extreme traffic all day everyday😎👍
