Toronto is not small when you consider a few things. 1: Lake Ontario stops expansion from going in an entire direction of the city. 2: Instead of suburbs surrounding Toronto, it has cities. Mississauga, Scarborough, Brampton. Go to a US city and the nearest big city will be 2+ hours a lot of the time. The oddities are places like Washington DC and Baltimore which are quite close but still not even as close as Toronto's city neighbours. California's 2 biggest cities are 6 hours away. Texas has 2 hours and 4 hours between its 3 biggest cities. For Pennsylvania, its 2 biggest cities aren't even the closest cities to each other but that of other states. Calgary and Edmonton are 3 hours away. Toronto and Mississauga touch each other...
@@3questionspodcast It being smaller than those 2 does not mean it's small. I can list way more smaller places than you can larger. Oh look, 2 of the few American cities right by a coastline that have major housing issues. You TOTALLY stumped me with those 2 examples. What a salient point...

@@CanadianEhHole Born in Toronto have lived in Los Angeles for several years. First of all Scarborough is not a city or suburb, it’s part of Toronto like Hollywood is part of LA. I wouldn’t consider Brampton or Mississauga much of a city, as neither has an historic downtown. The only one I will give Toronto is Hamilton. Los Angeles has several major cities not far from DTLA. These cities have historic downtowns, like Long Beach, Pasadena, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Riverside, etc.
Affordable housing. Cleaning up the overall appearance of some sections of downtown (graffiti and run down buildings). Toronto is a great city with great people, but downtown especially looks run down.
That would skew home prices infinitely higher. This is Canada not America. In Canada new homes cost substantially more than resale homes. In America the cost of a new home is only about 5 percent higher than the cost of a resale home.
@@nickyfurlano8531 even with higher cost for building a house in Canada, the increase in supply is a good thing for the housing market. Well at least for people who want to purchase a home.
Chill with the constant music. And it's easier said than done to "convert office buildings to residential spaces." Guess what that would require? Yep, construction and renovation work.
Toronto used to be the NYC version of Canada as a teenager where we wanted to pursue design program. Also, no more gunshots, better protection and fight the unfair treatment
Way more free music especially in the suburbs. Get bands from different cultures, irish music, Italian singers (they all know opera), chamber music, choirs, quebecois music, east coast music, latin, german ( classical will do ), Indian, Bulgarian, etc etc etc, there are many good musicians and singers here in the area and they'll play for free or for beer!
Don’t ask immigrants what could be better about Toronto, ask them what could’ve kept them where they came from instead of coming here and making it worse for everyone.
Council has proposed another large property tax increase, which would make the total increase 25% in three years. How about we get some representatives that aren't obsessed with turning our great city into a place where only the very wealthy can afford to live here?
Crack down on the addicts roaming / living on the streets as well as those constantly harassing people for money. They're annoying!!! As for the rest of the Toronto population. They're stressed? Ok, I get it: inflation, high rent, mediocre TTC, traffic woes, ect. But, why not sooth these woes by changing what is controllable such as your own attitude. Be courteous, mannerly, and considerate. Don't act like you alone have the right of way. Let the other person go by when it's their turn -as an example. Too much entitlement. No need for it. Then you'll pave the way to less stress. Other than that, Toronto is fun and entertaining if you know what you're doing.
Less people? You live in a city……go away. Anyways….. 1. Affordable, capped rent. (Ford is the reason rent is so high, he removed the caps) 2. More job opportunities(Trudeau gave all the jobs away appealing to corporations with low labour costs) 3. Better transportation 4. Adult parks - jungle gyms for adults creates social opportunities, makes us feel more possible and willing to do more.
Toronto: an expensive, lonely, cold, quasi-police state. Toss in poor political leadership provincial and municipally and these characteristics are essentially permanent.
I'm scared to comment, because networks like this tend to filter comments to give a certain sort of impression. I think that's a very un-Canadian thing to do. We don't need to silence the opinions of some, or even gaslight them, and then prop up others. I generally dislike the Toronto Star (a lot) and if they were to ever even step in my direction, let alone hold a microphone in my face, it would be an absolute "no go". I would never speak to these people. I clicked on this because I thought they were trying to do some sort of a rebrand, because I notice the more independent news networks are making way better quality stuff and it's more realistic, while the more mainstream news is just doing brainwashing for globalists. For example watch the interview CNN just did with Justin Trudeau where he was asked about Trumps comments on Canada being a 51st state. Trudeau was down there for the wildfires I think, and they were using that opportunity to talk about global warming. But browse the comments and all of them are supportive of Justin Trudeau. That is not real. That is worse than China in terms of filtering opinions.
last girl nailed it. Toronto is not as friendly as people think. We need to smile more at eachother and talk.
Lower Rent, lower grocery prices.
Keep voting liberal😂
They can’t change the economy in the city. Just little things that will make living there a little more bearable.

No more temporary foreign workers or international students? New grads and high school students can no longer find jobs.

It might help if Canada brought in minimum speed law limits as one single car on a single lane highway can impede tens of thousands of cars behind it.
If it was more affordable to live in and more job availability wage increase to meet the cost of living.
Wage increase is just going to increase the prices of products if they pay you more, they’re gonna raise the prices of food and other necessities
Depend on what jobs you’re talking about , there are more jobs than you can imagine, that’s why people flock to Toronto.

If Canada retaliates on Trump's tariffs home prices will take it on the chin as interest rates rise substantially to combat future inflation.
