The politeness does not equate to being nice. I found people just as reserved and standoffish as people in Paris.
People may be rushing around in the downtown and not apt to pass the time of day with you but in the neighbourhoods people are neighbourly and friendly.

For those comparing Toronto to NYC... this is so wrong... in term of vibe and energy, Toronto reminds me more of Minneapolis than NYC. Toronto has a boring vibe... the urbanism is so bad; you have to plan everything if you want to have fun; so you end up doing nothing and stay home (like most Torontonians :) ). So, if you like working and make money then stay home; and spend everything you've earned because of insane cost of living; Toronto is for you ;) ...
Well, I am from Hong Kong , once you tackle the problem of living, it is generally cheaper for other daily expenses in Hong Kong. Like if you want to dine out and going shopping , also we have the most convenient public transport and it is cheap.

The difference is, Toronto has a great (by North American standards) transit system. A large percentage of people don't own a car and can get around no problem.

I wish to point out that random attacks, gun discharges, car-jackings, car thefts, burglaries are on the rise in old T.O. The Metro Police has a gang squad so there are gangs here although perhaps not as visible. Please don't paint too much of a pretty picture of Toronto (Toronow) cuz there are definitely some bad areas you need to avoid and minding your own business. Like you say, Toronto is a big city, so. But having said that, TO is relatively safer than a lot of U.S. and Canadian cities nowadays.
If I were going to put up with all the expense and hassle of living in a city this big again, I’d go to New York City if staying in North America. Toronto costs as much as NYC but, just does not have the same vibrancy. Toronto has priced out workers too. Paramedic? Teacher? Nurse? If you don’t have family in Toronto DO NOT MOVE THERE. You will struggle. Canadians are also very self congratulatory about their “politeness” lol and I am Canadian.

Hi! Your vlog is so informative among the other vlogs I've watched... very concise and yet substantial. I and my family are moving to Toronto in July, since I have young kids I am very cautious in choosing the safe neighborhoods, especially with the shootings in the US it makes me paranoid more, may I request some recommendations from you. My husband will be a student at Centennial College Progress Campus. Thank you for your time.
Hey! Not the uploader but I have spent decades in Toronto. As a general rule, I think the better question is to figure out which neighbourhoods are less safe, since most neighbourhoods are generally safe and family friendly. Since that campus is in a pretty remote location compared to downtown, I'd suggest doing some research about the neighbourhoods that are nearby to the campus and basing a decision on that.

"Why's this guy saying hi to me for?" 🤣
Toronto is a festering dump I live 3 hours north of it and 40,000 is not going to cut it you need 60,000 after taxes to have any kind of life. Welcome to Ontario good luck.
Thanks for sharing!
NOT TRUE ! I got a job here and this saved us as a family. It gave us hope for the FUTURE !!!!!
@@goosevillage give it time the government and taxes will suck the hope out of you.
Same job my wage is higher in TO than Vancouver like at least 25%
Yeah a big DUMP FULL OF DRUG ADDICTS AND LOSERS.....
About a family Doctor, your somewhat wrong, my walking Doctor became my main family Doctor because once I started seeing him he found out that I was Diabetic. and about crime this is another thing you are wrong about, have you listen to all of the cars getting braking into this year? But beside what I've said keep out the amazing work that you are doing with your channel, it's very informational.
CANADA BECAME SOO EXPENSIVE THAT PEOPLE ARE LEAVING THE COUNTRY.
so
Disagree with you completely.
Leaving country people who came to hear in search of better life.
😅😆🤣😂😂 What are you smoking!!??? Some may be leaving but MANY MANY more are arriving. Toronto is growing at an astonishing rate and will soon reach 10 million. Half the cranes in North America are IN Toronto. Few countries accept more immigrants than Canada.
SOMEONE COMES THE OTHER LEAVES THAT'S NORMAL FOR EVERY PLACE.
You forgot to mention the Maple Leaf, Hockey is king in Canada.
Where are you finding $450 k one bed condos in Toronto?
I keep seeing ads for $550 k studio condos in Brampton and Oshawa
My family came to Toronto in 2000, I was born two years later, despite what many people say online Toronto is a nice place to live
is it suitable for newcomers? like international students?
@@rezamehrzad yeah
@@leonardsalinas2002 Thank you.
No, it’s not, it’s unaffordable just like Vancouver and it’s a dump. It’s better to try Quebec or Alberta for a newcomer
If you live in Ottawa then you should know that food and clothing is cheaper in Toronto comparing to Ottawa. There are more jobs in Toronto as well except housing that is more expensive and has been this way forever.
Wow... I love my city but the 7 mins of this seems like you are trying to convince me my city sucks and I should move!
It does suck. That's the reality.
With the quality of people who have come in it’s quite scary wearing a Rolex these days
The development of Toronto is extraly slow. It is the same TTC line as of 30 years ago.
The ttc is 100 years behind 😂. It is the same when it was the population of 4M (Greater Toronto Area) pop
I would love to study bachelor in Toronto but the tuition fees for international students are so highhhh😢
I thought Ontario was high! 🤔 around how much is it to study as an international student in Toronto?
Truth! Its very hard and plus you cant work to help with food costs etc!!
If you go to the US, education is 10x more expensive
Right ?? That’s why I am not going even if I’m admitted 😔
@@karenpower1643 Come to Germany, study fees are super low, also for international students.🙂
Most people living in basements as the rent is considerably cheaper .. but can find 2 jobs easily
Most people or many? There is a difference. Majority are renting apartment in the building. All the rest are condo or house / townhouse owners.
I live on Long Island, NY and am currently studying to be a dietitian. Toronto pays healthcare workers an amazing salary!! Definitely looking to move here one day 😊
Sorry check your facts the wages in health care are sub standard
No they do not, please do your research
Healthcare workers are leaving Canada. Poor pay, long hours. Forced vaccination.
yep I wanna get out but have a hair salon and snake business so kinda hard to leave but I'd like to move to calgary!
Yea you'd be looking at the bottom of the barrel if you found a 1 bedroom condo for $450k in Toronto, they are much more than that for a nice one. I'd argue that real estate prices are more expensive than what is said in this video.
Is she on drugs, $40k min salary - more like $200k min salary. Here is a more accurate rundown: 1. Expensive housing 2. High taxes 3. Crap salaries 4. Unfriendly people (except servers) 5. Crap weather 6. Loads of homeless people 7. Crap / non existent public healthcare 8. A Prime Minister who cares more about his public appearance to other leaders than he does about the country thats becoming more and more like a third world country. Pros: summers are great , fantastic outdoors to explore
i love you , i love Toronto ))
Is it true that it’s more lonely living in Canada?
Definitely
this sounds exactly like LA
Like there, want to move to ontario
Great video! I’m moving in November hopefully and would love to connect with you 👊🏽👍🏽
I'd love to help you out! Give me a call: (647) 228-8880
😢
Did you finally moved? And how is it going if so?
Exactly what u said about torontonians is exactly what people say about new yorkers and londoners. Just typical big city vibes that's all lol.
Yes
Best city in Canada
i'm from Montreal and it seems that the cons WAY outweigh the pros in Toronto............................
Born and raised here, I would agree. Way more cons these days
I agree as a torontonian too how is Montreal btw
@@AgressiveAndre I don't live in Montreal anymore but it's overall in the top 10 best cities in the World. So is Toronto tho, so it really depends on personal preferences. Some say Montreal is "the Paris of North America".
@@Osiwan960 ah I see what you mean
Insane maintenance charges by handymen, plumbers etc 😢
Recently I was charged $299.00 CAD for having a shower head replaced.
I though you weren't supposed to add the second T.
You should come to Hong Kong if you think Toronto is expensive to live
Well, I am from Hong Kong , once you tackle the problem of living, it is generally cheaper for other daily expenses in Hong Kong. Like if you want to dine out and going shopping , also we have the most convenient public transport and it is cheap.
Lol at 40,000 a year. Maybe she meant 140,000?
Lol that sounds more accurate
How can you feel welcomed if people aren't friendly?
Google Maps will be your best friend. True! lol
We plan on moving summer, 2025. Living 3y, or for Son to graduate HS/2ndary as long as it takes for my wife to get citizenship.
This video helps; so many downer videos. One dude was biotching and when he got to "woke" culture being prevalent, I cut him off.
Toronto, GO!
Only problem I have with this city is the neglect it faces.
So traffic in Toronto is the same as LA?
The difference is, Toronto has a great (by North American standards) transit system. A large percentage of people don't own a car and can get around no problem.
In Toronto we call it the four oh f.....g one. In LA do you call it the four oh f.....g five? The two worst most congested highways in North American but it is also said that I95 and up through NJ is pretty bad too. 401 is world's busiest road.
@@pex3LA transit sucks your right but Toronto’s transit is just decent not good just decent it’s just a line and a u shaped subway line and maybe a short useless irrelevant line if you live in northern Etobicoke or most of Scarborough or a suburb you will need a car if you live in the heart of Toronto or live near a subway station then transit is good
LA is MUCH worse.
Actually Pearson airport borders peel region but is still technically in Toronto
Nice video and helpful information. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Glad it helped!
What's the salary range for managerial position in industry?
In Toronto unless you're a Director level stay out be a manager in small town be happier
@@djtchamp5076certainly agreed
I miss that city
Cons":1. Highhousing cost. 2. Multi-cultural.
Konnichiwa from kansai!!
I want to use an Airbnb if I can for this book tour that I want to do next year. Coming from Japan, do I need the vaccines?
Great work... arigato!!
Hi I’m looking to move to Toronto. Do you only buy and sell real estate or do you do rentals also?
All realtors in Toronto do rentals as well
It is Super Woke, especially the downtown area. Can't wait to move out.
It is really woke
I am from Miami and I would trade Toronto for Miami.
The 6 is dope.
Really ?😳
Your comment really makes me laugh as a local Torontonian

Why would you move to Toronto from MONTREAL?
@@torink8229 is Montreal better than Toronto?
@@madame4883 I think it’s better personally, and i’m from Toronto. Think of Montreal as Paris, and Toronto as London. Both are great and cultural but one is more about the enjoyment of life ‘joie de vivre’ ;)
@@madame4883 Montreal is alot more laid back and less focused on productivity.

im assuming there are average people here with average means of living these prices are a bit inhuman i would say in all honesty american here as well

Thank you!
Have you ever live in Singapore to make this video?
Hi, I am living in Montreal, and I’m thinking to move to Toronto. The cons you mentioned are almost serious but pros are not as strong as they be able to fade the cons. Specially when you are not an immigrant how comes from other countries. Thanks
Hi I’m also trying to move from mtl to Toronto can you update me on how it went for you ? Do you regret it ? I’m very nervous
But having said that, TO is relatively safer than a lot of U.S. and Canadian cities nowadays.
do they have African or ethopian restaurants?
Yes dear.
Toronto can't even afford to house African refugees. Check news.
Thank you madam 😀
House prices 😢
Great video! I also make videos about Toronto and stumbled on this - best of luck!
How to come tronto
If I were going to put up with all the expense and hassle of living in a city this big again, I’d go to New York City if staying in North America. Toronto costs as much as NYC but, just does not have the same vibrancy. Toronto has priced out workers too. Paramedic? Teacher? Nurse? If you don’t have family in Toronto DO NOT MOVE THERE. You will struggle. Canadians are also very self congratulatory about their “politeness” lol and I am Canadian.
Toronto has all the cool stuff as NYC! Except for the Canadians.
But unlike NYC, it doesn't smell like urine every where you go.
@@iesudsy yea! True enough.
@@iesudsyacc it does 😂
@ruffmeow9893 that’s cuz the torontonian government thinks they are New York City

No wonder Scott was sharing an unmarked box with Wallace and owned only two things.😭
I spent eleven years living in Toronto and I believe Mississauga is much better. Still though, I see no reason why someone would choose to live in Toronto and not an American city, like Miami.
If someone says Hi to you and you run away in your car. That's not a Toronto thing. That's just you.
Since that campus is in a pretty remote location compared to downtown, I'd suggest doing some research about the neighbourhoods that are nearby to the campus and basing a decision on that.
lol how the hell will someone meet the standard cost of living for 40k a year
$40k WON'T cut it. Minimum $100k+ to barely pay rent, utilities, food, and daily casual expenses.
