Brother wish you had put actual addresses also your agents contact info!
U love heights lol..I can't do heights lol.. lol
Looking for an apartment in Toronto is the most depressing thing ever, especially if you have a budget. I had to compromise so much I didn't know who I was by the end
Grilled cheese off the radiator?
@@ThisHandleWasTheOnly1Available what shelter is giving out cheese slices now!?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bro. AS a fellow Torontonian. I FEEL you. I am living in my old apartment building because the rates are locked in. However I am trying to move on but everyday I look at the market I shed a tear.
@@ThisHandleWasTheOnly1Available lool Sopranos , Phil Leotardo 😅😅🤣 he did 20 years
Honestly, I wouldn't look for a unit newer than Nov 2018 because it won't be rent controlled. They can hike your rent whatever amount whenever whereas if it's 2018 or earlier they have to follow government guidelines which is dually a 1-2% increase only once every 12 months
I was going to comment the same thing. I’ve heard about people who had their landlords raise rent by $500+ after a year and the tenant can’t do anything about it.
wow, didn't know that.
Great life tip for Toronto.
Man, the government should start investigating developers advertising apartments with these fake ‘Dens’ which are NOT at all 1 bedroom plus den apartments. It’s just false advertising and should be illegal.
Yes !! That would be great because they’re exaggerating really…
NYC/New Jersey is the same way… small and narrow spaces for insane prices
It's ironic that people think the government should charge people for making false statements or misrepresentations.
The government is the KING of doing the same thing.
Regulation !! You want goverments to regulate everything. Gosh.
What 'government?'
This was a great video, I hope you found a great place to stay. Just a reminder to everyone that this was filmed in 2021, as of June 2023, the average 1 bedroom in Toronto has jumped to over $2500, some of the units he showed in this video would even be higher than that. As some people mentioned, new residential apartments/condos/houses occupied for the first time after 2018 aren't rent controlled.
I watched the entire vacuum commercial….and I don’t even need a vacuum….this kid is too good 🤣🤣❤️❤️
lol
Same!
I didn’t even know it was a commercial.. and now I want 1 lol
@@ShevonSalmon Heyy Shevon would you mind doing an apartment tour video now that you've settled in kindly?
@@ShevonSalmon what happens if there is a fire in condo/apt building?
I was so excited for the next episode, you make national television quality content Shevi 🙏🏽
I've gone through thesame number if not more than the number of viewings you had. I feel frustrated at times not being able to find the condo that's right for me but seeing your process and that you're sticking to your non negotiable list of must haves gives me hope!! 🙌🙌
how's it going LV?
I love Toronto condo tours, and you did a great job! Agree that last option seemed best for you, but wonder about noise from train lines especially during peak times. Best of luck in your search. You probably sold me on the Roidmi lol...
Amazing apartment tour, I would personally go with the last apartment it seems the nice out of all the choices and I think it close to the union station.
Toronto is just nuts. My daughter lived in Liberty Village, everything was right there, great views of the lake.
Except good access to transit unfortunately (subway in particular)
You know you’re an adult when things like a vacuum make you excited lol I relate 😂
Super high quality content! Good luck on the condo search. My vote is for #5.
Love the last one! I noticed someone mentioned the noise of the trains...you'll get used to it, trust me. I used to live above a store, had buses passing day and not the stop was in front of my place...garbage trucks. Just the noise of the city. Oh and I was above a Timothy's so - PEOPLE - and my cats smelled like Irish Cream and plus I'd say. Good luck in your search.
This is great and reminds me of my Toronto apartment hunt (which was not fun). My only caution against renting condos is that you cannot go to the Landlord Tenant Board if anything goes wrong. You'd have to go through small claims court. Plus, there's that earlier comment about rent control. Some people's rent has gone up by $200 -500. Landlords are trying to recoup their losses since the pandemic.
@@mfernando8639 not all tenancies are covered by the RTA.
Hyped i found your channel! I grew up south of Toronto. living in Vancouver now. Listening to how you breakdown your goals for an apartment is a vibe.
South of Toronto? Like New York state?
@@TwiinStar1224 lol I think he meant downtown as in south of Bloor street

Shevon is so underrated man. GREAT CONTENT👑🔥
Ur videos just get better and better man I swear🔥
I love condo hunting type of vlogs! Very well put together! Just subscribed 🔥🔥
I’m guessing you are going with the last one, I think the last one is the best, yea it’s not close to union but it’s not that far and the space looks way bigger than the others. Congrats! Looking forward to seeing what u pick and how you decorate it.
Your T.O apartment tours are the best….always watch ❗️❤️🇨🇦
Great content! I feel like location is super important. You will save time and money by living in the right location. Also as a creator the right location will motivate and inspire you.
The last one was sick....Take all variables into account, internalize them and then make a decision. Best of luck dude and congrats!!
The last one is 🔥🔥 you are blessed king keep shinning 🙏🏾💪🏾
Honestly I think you should go for the second one in Liberty village. As much as I bash the area, it's an established neighbourhood. It's also the largest unit. I think if you're creative enough you can utilize that fake den to hold your desk. If it was built before November 2018 it will also be rent controlled which gives you security.
The last one was nice but is smaller and doesn't come with a locker or parking and the landlord will have the option to raise their rent by any amount after one year.
Hey shevon, loving this condo hunt videos man. I like the first one but but the last one man that’s the best one so far, I think it’s ok if you have to comprise as it’s not in the Core of the city, but a really good place to live with so much of natural light 😁
Some cool shots!
dope video man. I think the one you like is a solid pick. Thats crazy I'm also on a mission to find my own apartment. Hope we end up with amazing places we love for years to come!
I'm VERY fortunate to have bought a townhome in Courtice, east of Oshawa (1041 Sq. Ft.) back in September '92 for $129,990. Paid it off over the years but I had to do that awful commute for 27 years. Sold it this past April for $857,000.
Nice
620k $ win after inflation. Congrat man!
Great editing. Nice work
The last condo for sure, love the layout and the space.
Love to see you movin up lil homie! Love from Hamilton 🍁
Obsessed with the quality of this video 😍
Loved these types of vids
You are amazing shevon let’s gooooooo🔥🔥🔥
These apartments should be no more than $1200 😭😭😭. Dope video! But these prices are insane
HAHAHAHA
Absolutely
Try New York prices
@@Ban00 but its new york and salaries are high !
Loved this video. Thanks for sharing!
I would say the last one was the best, it's very beautiful and I like it
Yo I watched this video prolly for the 5th time yesterday and it was at 160k views. Now it's at 190k omg Shevon you growing fast and strong bro!
I hope you know about rent control bro. Condo owners can jack the price up on tenants after the first year if your condo was not built before 2018
Glad someone else mentioned this. Never get a new build, may be nice to start in a fresh place but the Landlord/Owner can raise your rent as much as they want, pre 2018 buildings have to abide by the law.
I own a condo but why don't they have that from 18 on? Must be some rent controls
@@sometard8156 pain in the ass to move and more than likely if the landlord is jacking up rent by exorbitant prices then market rents have gone up as well.
i love your vids man they are top tier
The last one was definitely the best. I can't believe the prices in Toronto anymore, but I think that was the best and biggest you'll get for that price near downtown.
The last one was the best one of them all. I’m going through the same thing right now trying find a good apartment is so hard.
Fun to watch every time☆
One of my fav RUclipsr yay!
Those Toronto rent prices are wild! Quality video as always though man 🔥
@LaMelo Ball yeah i heard they are like 2500 plus for a 1 bedroom right?
hahahahh you should see the same units down town Vancouver, 2700 i would say for new build ones.
Hi shevon my first toronto youtuber.
Refreshing
Do your thing.❤
The last one 🔥🔥... It has the best space.
Wow nice shot ❤️
Thanks for the content! In this real estate market it really would have been nice to see a 3k or 4k one
Go for the condo that’s not listed and you get to have first dips on it so that’s a win, win for sure. Even tho the location is a bit far off which u was trying to avoid, but let’s be clear and keep in mind how many sweet deals will come by? If I was you I wouldn’t let this one go it’s definitely a keeper. Natural lighting and its spacious like you wanted.
I want to upgrade in Toronto soon, so this was informative. Thanks!
🤯 I’d say the final one you viewed. It’s pretty spacious for what it is. You’d fit all your stuff. And transit in TO in that area is decent. Walk. Rent a bike. Uber. A scooter even to boot around in….made. Good luck 🤞🏻 finding your condo
About to move from Ireland to Toronto and if anything this video gives me hope. Honestly, as bad as you think Toronto is Dublin is worse! You could easily pay anywhere from €1500 ($2,100) to €2,500 ($3,600) a month in some areas for a 1 bed. The key difference though is the quality. We have apartments for rent that are literally someone’s front sitting room converted with the kitchen, bedroom and sitting room all in the same room. I even saw one for rent where the shower is in the kitchen (which also doubles up as the bedroom). Looking forward to the move, and excited to apartment hunt
Love the video 🔥
i enjoyed watching your condo tour bro👍
ur so under rated bro
The space of the last one wins out over all of the others!! And you’re near a station so even if you have to travel a bit, it’ll at least be easier.
It’s only till now that I realized you were working out of Toronto. Good luck on the apartment, and agree the last one looks top notch. Any thoughts of being somewhere further north, maybe the Yorkville area?
that vacuum is sick 🔥
W mans
The last unit is hands down better than all the others. I would go for this one
Oh and I'm from Slovenia, central Europe and housing market in my country is skyrocketing right now. Prices for a shifty house of apartment are super high. It's like that right now probably in most countries.
It's crazy living in Toronto I'm paying $1500 for a basement apartment still have to pay utilities phone and internet food it's like two grand a month for me Toronto and Vancouver are the most expensive places to live in Canada
You could move to Quebec where they lock 🔒 you down and have broken health care. 😂
How do you do it? I left Toronto years ago and I can't imagine going back.
The last one was my favorite. The kitchen at the door and the washroom was sweet. You have to learn to walk or get a bike (it's healthy).
You also have to consider what is included in your rent; condo fees, electricity, etc... I have a gas burning stove - an extra expense $40-$60 mo. + hydro bill
Yess I like the last one 😍😍
Bro when i see your day to day life vlogs i feel like I'm living your life 🔥🔥🤣
He deserves more views.
Amazing video! Do more like these 👍
*God Bless Everyone* 🙏
I really like the last unit, dude!
Unit 5 is a go
South facing as you know is the best. My NYC apt is South & North facing. South facing is the best for growing plants. Toronto apts are very generous with kitchenette space which is the opposite of NYC. We have small kitchenettes but a larger living room
New York signifcantly outclasses Toronto, so it’s worth it imo you should be lucky :p
The first seem the best but the 3rd one Has a nice view from private terrace
I'm in van and same things here. Appreciate the solid breakdown!
With prices like these, I thought for a second you meant you're living in a VAN.
That’s a really good realistic list!!
My only advice to you is to be mindful of your maintenance fees and keep a close eye on your board of directors. It’s safer, in my opinion, to purchase a ready main condo, with all of that in place. There you could see the books the accountants paperwork, the info on their board of directors.
Quality Video 🆙🆙🆙💯
Thank you
Broo you literally described EVERYTHING my unit has😭😂😂 gotta check it out‼️
@shevon salmon : If possible, don’t take any of these. The realtor should clearly explain the rent control doesn’t apply in apartments newer than 2018, meaning the owner can inflate the rent by ANY amount taking advantage of moving pain. $300-500 is easy so you’re better off with older properties, bonus that they are always larger.
PSA ….
💯 he should check out the condo units by Harbourfront. Most of those are constructed pre 2018
Good quality camera !
Great video! I'm looking for a condo too to rent in the city. That last one was really nice
Nice video man, will there be a part 2 ! Or a follow up
I say get that last one! Hype for you
Agree Unit 5 that is it, although Unit 3 view's looks the best.
Enjoyed the video thanks!! The last one definitely has the best space and layout and natural light. The den is missing but I understand you have to compromise somewhere.
I’m also looking for an apartment with the same kind of criterias and prices +parking.. but I don’t mind not having a den.
would love to connect with one of your recommended realtors if that’s ok ?
Subscribed. Sorry you kept getting catfished by the den 😅. 4th unit bathroom looks neat. Go for the 5th unit it's quite spacious!
Have same gucci glasses as you, these condo are boxes in the sky. Moving to my new condo soon stay tuned for a tour.
Lighting by the TFC stadium is 🔥. Unit #5 is probably the best but the location like you said is a drawback for me. Definitely gotta commute to the core. Looks like an Uber cause that’s a good walk.
I think the last one has more of a nice look…lots of natural light.I would say go for it downtown toronto can get really pricy in the next months of this pandemic.
Number 2 wasn’t so bad, the last one was nice also but for people that drive don’t have a parking spot is a deal breaker
PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO RENT IN ONTARIO! Unit made AFTER November 15 2018 DO NOT fall under Rent control. Meaning your landlord can raise your rent to whatever they want once your lease is over. Yes you don't have to pay it however that means you'd need to find a new place to live after 1 year if you can't afford the increase! Rent control means your landlord is only able to raise your rent 2.5% every year! A lot of young people do not know this - happy hunting!
Thank you for the tips and I found a new place already
The last one really did look the best
The first apartment with the bait up ‘den’ looked nice. These prices are mad though. Jamaican apartments running close by to these at 1500$ usd
1500 USD is 1900 Canadian.... Pretty much the same price as the units he's looking at
@@crystaleve7807 that’s crazy.. these prices are
The last one isn't that far from the core, a quick ttc ride . Its a nice unit
A good educating video
Thank you for the video btw.
Great video
Yikes, got anxious just seeing the narrow $2,000 500sq ft unit. These used to be called studio size.
Shoeboxes
The last one is definitely it!
Ok that vacuum sickkkkkkk
I like the last one. ❤ Roidmi s pretty cool.
