Awesome video. Mahalo to Bo, KB and Dylan for highlighting upgrading old low head and irrigation diversion dams to river recreation. 10,000s of old dams across US and many are great potential river surf locations with modifications. Over a 10 win - river navigability, reduce hazards, fish passage, sediment transport, flood risk mitigation, eliminate blight, diversion infrastructure modernization, economic impact, community health benefit, limit rural outmigration, world class recreation. Thank you guys!
Thanks again, Dylan, for another great video! Super stoked to see Boise River surf phenom and purveyor of stoke Austin in this one. You're board color brothers!
Really cool , new sub here coming from SF and transitioning to Houston area … Galveston is my closest option … until now … River surfing 🏄♂️ must be some sorta witch magic 😂

Super cool that the original score is created by the surfer himself! Have been a huge fan of your videos since the river wave in the U.K., inspired me and a mate to try and find a river wave in Cornwall, South West U.K. and we ended up getting a ride in on some foamies (with some close calls on rocks!).
Montana has always been on the bucket list but now it’s hovering on the top! A beautiful state with so much stoke to share. I am so intrigued by river waves. They appear to present a whole slew of new challenges from ocean waves. You and the crew crushed it! And feelin your sounds as well!! Great job!

I feel like you average river surfer has pretty solid form and mechanics relative to your average surfer, which makes sense given that in river surfing so much more time is spent standing on the board, the wave is stationary so you can try the same maneuvers over and over, etc. Cool to see!
Yeah definitely, I feel like my foundation gets so tuned up every time I surf one, you have to have everything in the right spot in order to stay in the wave. Makes surfing in the ocean easy!

That first one looks very close to a low head dam, which can be extremely dangerous due to backflow. If you don't know how deadly low head dams are, please look it up.
I would be scared to get in the water just downstream of that low dam, I've heard them called "drowning machines" cause it's easy to get trapped in the foamy subducting water. Awesome video
