It's so much like Cornwall there, looks like home. You really captured the fun of making the most of what you have to hand. Real waves real people, Good tunes too. Subbed!
Sick! My in-laws live in Bretagne and it’s truly one of my favorite places on earth. The surf can get all time. But the food, scenery, people and vibes are all special. Also if you like wind sports there aren’t many places that are as fun as Brittany. So cool to see Gaëtan in the intro. He runs a surf school called Zephyr and has taught my nephews how to surf for many summers. He’s a standup guy.
Thanks for the respect toward us, appreciate that to see a foreigner coming around here and understand what surf is all about around here. The super isolated spots and a lot of hard conditions make you appreciate perfect waves when D-day comes !
It looks fun. Really just the camaraderie and chilling with the locals and having a cool session then some drinks and food. I love that the most about surfing on my travels
I'm about to turn 76 and haven't surfed in over half a century but I champ at the bits when I see that sweet little right inside the harbor! It's just my current speed!
Kenavo Dylan, incredible. You was surfing in Audierne in BZH . This is my natal country!! I leaving in New Caledonia in South Pacific acutely for 20 years and it was pleasure seen and smell weather, sea and crêpes in your video. Thanks again🤙🏼
Epic man what a special place you are from :) glad you enjoyed the video, I sure had a blast ! How do you like New Caledonia ? How’s the waves there ? I’ve never been …
Stayed with my family in Crozon last summer. Love the area, waves all over if any swell. Crepes overlooking stormy beaches. Ate my body weight in butter with pastries for breakfast every day. My boys loved using the Beefs Womper I picked up in Brest. Friendly seals too.
What a great vid. Bejng from south west of England I relate to 4ft howling onshore conditions its cool to see people getting psyched on it as it can be fun with the right mindset 🤙🏽
I love Dylan! This reminds me of surfing monsoonal swell in Darwin with my mates back when I was a teenager. It’s far from perfect but you have the best time, and just sometimes at the right moment you can score the wave of your life.
What I love about Bretagne is that you can go surf waves like these in the video, or some smaller peeling longboard lines somewhere else on the same day.
Yes! Yes! "Staying in the right mindset and keeping at it." That's how we do it up in Humboldt County Northern California. Cold, big, wild, and beautiful. When cold water surfing, you change your perspective. Being in the water daily becomes more than just about surfing 🏄♂️ The waves 🌊 sometimes are just the cherry on top. It's that connection with the ocean and nature that becomes your daily medicine for physical and mental well-being 🤙
@@DylanGravesYT From the west with Easterly winds is best. Three main waves. Portinfer, Vazon bay (reef and beach break) and Perelle reef. But with the slightly northwest swell other spots work that can get fun or big depending 🤟
Dylan you're living the dream, although I wouldn't want to surf some of the waves you go out in! I used to buy boards from your dad's shop, OA, we'd drive 65 miles to visit it. It was a cool place. Your dad would be really proud of you I'm sure!
@@DylanGravesYT I recognize the difficulty of these waves, but it seems like an under-the-top response, in the sense that you didn't have fun so it keeps me from bothering the locals. then it seems to me where you got it from.
that rocky slab was soo chunky, i'm glad it only broke your board. what a cool place to surf, can't beat those views! damn that left wall wave was also so sick
@@DylanGravesYTsorry Dylan my first comment was for a video that was previously on my chrome cast. It was for the UK rapper Zee Stack - So Far. I want him to change the thumbnail. Yours is great my man. You keep doing you brutha! 😄
Epic story, one of your best. Kudos in those heavy, dangerous conditions Dylan. The local dude from Paris is charging, some great backhand surfing and a couple of chunky pits 🤙🏽
Hey Dylan! So sick. I know on “weird waves” you have already traveled to the Great Lakes, but here on the lakes we also have a wave that breaks on a pier just like the one in this video. We call it the “rock pile” here in Grand Haven, Michigan. We have such a sick crew and would be so stoked if you came out to surf it. Would be more than happy to give you some more details on it if you're ever interested! Cheers🍻
Epic man yeah 💯 I’d love to come check it !!! I actually surfed with and have been in touch with Matt Smolenski from there and have been trying to time a good swell, but haven’t synced one up yet … but down on coming and hanging and getting some surfs with everyone soon! See anything on the horizon? If u do dm me on here on IG 👊🍻
How I miss my surfari’s to France. Every summer from ‘86 to ‘94. Get in the car and stay till the money runs out. Nice to see the French embracing the English language, something that wasn’t the case in my time.
HellZZ Yes Brother, Another epic slice of surfing life delivered! Digging the sound track too. Nice switch it up from the traditional Casio stuff (that i do love also) If you ever want/need help with more backing tracks and such I'd be honored to lend a hand.
This is just like the break called "shingles or "the mighty shingola" on the westcoast of new zealeand which is a sea wave but it breaks up inside the rivermout reminds me of this.
Dylan is the Anthony Bourdain of surfing.
Haha, such a great comparison
Haha so accurate
😊❤
Anthony Bourdain and Dylan Graves are TREASURES.
As long as we don’t lose him too!
Nice! The Brittany crew that come to surf in Ireland are always super friendly and respectful, they get it, unlike some!
Unlike who? .. 👀
