2:52 I agree with a lot of what you are saying, however as a WH user, the main dps for the weapon are basic attacks. The nerf to CC abilities several patches ago made it so clear out, WB, don't hit as hard. But both confirm light attacks and shield bash which confirms a heavy. Shockwave confirms full heavy with stopwatch. Looking at WH passives in the skill tree, heavy attacks have a lot of dps passives for damage. That's how I can hit 4k heavies with only 223 str and 384 con in my videos. Overall, I still think strength attributes will be strong for WH if you are building it for basic attacks. The int light/heavy attack dps increase if I understand correctly will be applied only to the elemental 50% when you split.

  • @arangor82

you forgot the +10% base damage to abilities from 350 strength. Also it is important to notice that the +15% elemental damage for example will only improve half of your damage with the split gem, so it is essentially only 7.5%, because the other half is not elemental damage.
Also consider that you lose the effect of the gem you would normally slot, like the +12% damage while stamina is not full.
I think for the 100% STR/DEX weapons it will still be better to go STR/DEX instead of INT because you lose 10% base scaling, 12% from gem and the "elemental damage effects" from INT are only at 50% effectiveness. For Greatsword it is debatable because it will go from 81 to 90% scaling with the gem.
For the 90% weapons (SnS, Spear, Hatchet, Rapier, Blunderbuss) it might roughly even out and it will depend on the secondary weapon if the gem is worth it or not.
Overall I think what these changes mainly do is two things:
    - improve the damage of some weapon combos that were "incompatible" before, such as SnS/IG
    - improve the damage of FOC based builds in general, because now you can get 80% FOC scaling on every weapon, whereas before you could get only 65% and that is only on VG and Flail (not considering Life Staff as DPS weapon of course)
Going for these gems with a weapon combo that was already working before is probably not worth it.

10:18 without doing any calculations, I feel like new gems for blunderbuss will be overall net positive. This is from the perspective when using fire staff as primary. I currently allocate 50 strength for the additional light and heavy attack damage. But with these gems, you spec all into int and your fire staff will just hit hard af haha

I believe this is a good change from pure pve standpoint. Currently the pve dps is very unbalanced. Some secondary weapons such as IG and VG (artifact) can provide very decent amount of damage, even if you don't really use it that much. Current meta rapier/IG that IG alone adds 10k+ dps. However, for other weapons especially Strength based ones, there are no secondary weapon that can boost your damage. For example, you can run greatsword with a greataxe. The second hand greataxe will only give you the ability to group mobs, it will not increase the dps.
