I think this is a great general overview on the defensive perks that naturally cries out for a part 2 which you started to touch on... Gemming strategies combined with these perks to reach optimum build: I.e. the stuff we discuss in tank specialization channel on gem split + perks + conditionings + pots to survive crashes etc... doesnt have to be SnS but would be a good case study!
@@StrutZ007 I think the information provided in this video is great. But the most important thing to gemm8ng and putting your defensive perks and the overall setup is knowing your role and knowing who you are going to fight to make yourself more effective VS that target at this point in the game, Builds that can fight every other buulds rarely exist.
Hey man, coming back through and looking at your videos since coming back to the game. Do you have a spreadsheet or chart for quick reference of the different buckets for damage reduction and which perks or trades passives etc fall into each?
i think strike conditioning for bruisers might be really good on point since shockwave is also strike damage and they even overlap so its almost guaranteed low damage activation for the point brawls
can agree on this slash cond enjoyer myself its great also enchanted ward issue is just simply that it doesn't protect against abilities thats what kills you the most most of the time
Does Elemental Aversion work against Detonate? Kinda assumed that "IgnoreDisabledAttackTypes: Heartgem" meant it doesn't but never really got to test it. Even if it doesn't I still think it's must have on SNS/IG though, the additive stacking with Elemental Resistance skill and The Wall pushes BaseDamage back into the negatives vs. firestaves and it's even more effective against VG orbs. With Defender's Resolve you actually take 0 damage from orbs and healer basics but that's probably a meme vs. whirling/rush/bash
It works vs detonate idk what that tag does but it doesn’t work. I run EA on sns just makes sense for that class, but if I had the option I think SF is a better perk overall right now since it is more resistance than EA and works vs everything.
Damn you're right, tested it and they all apply. Time to give Defender's Resolve a try then, 0dmg detonates unless enemy VGs hit a slim oblivion/orb window could be better than the extra stamina and stun from bash
+10. Shirk heal x4 + Ankh for DEX builds like bow is it viable or I should choose another def perks? I back to the game after 1y Im confused what to build.
depends on what you die to...imo shirking heals on bow is just not as good since its hard to specifically dodge ranged abilities to procc SH...imo u are better off going for enchanted ward, elemental aversion, thrust conditioning. Depends on what u need the build for, oprs, arenas or wars
If i have healing breeze and get healed by a healer with the perk. Can I have 2 procs on me or is it on cooldown when the healer gave me the proc and vice versa ?
Hi. Good video. I think a brief explanation of tiers (something like "If you roll this you're happy/unhappy") at the beginning would serve your video well
Can you explain how the medigation takes place ? So Armor and Basedmg red. and then the conditioning or how does this work ? So if im warded 50% .. 50% of what after armor and base or before or is it all bundeled ?
All factors start at 1 and are multiplied together. 50% base dmg reduction is like 1-0.5=0.5. That’s multiplied by every other factor like fortify, abs, etc. There are some old videos I have that go a little more in depth, but that’s the gist.
good overeview love ur explainations i bet if ur where not so sick u would go deeper in this because i think also realy depended on what weight class u play or what role and also what combenation u run , tanks will swear by invograted healt eli aversion perks while a medium bruiser might like conditaion shriking fort/shriking heals freedom while heavy player rather go friged dawn whats enchanted eli aversion while some bows/fs go trust/flasme condiation healt or enchanted ward genraly use there dodge avoid abilties, i realy wish u could go deeper on this because dont believe 1 perk is better over the other realy depends on what u play with combnation of perks u run and what curent meta is personaly think eli aversion super strong right now because evry time there is a bomb there is fire on top a ice storm of it all kinds of elli dmg
Yea I def could go more in depth with it but I think generally S tier is bis by for every class, A is strong, B is good, and C is situational. F is never used.
Enchanted Ward is A tier can run 5 on any equip load 6 if on a shield and live through most situations. Grit ward is better if you auto alot like flail or ga to proc rfm i prefer it over frigid for those builds its a very conditional perk but with the right build it shines. Im glad ppl are seeing SF valued again I think its nice too made a trash set of it the other day and it felt great.

👍
I would personally hold off on going over jimming combinations until the announcement they may change the whole formula
@@Sando_Brown partly a selfish request because I'm currently going back and forth on gems vs conditionings/wards/elemental aversion 🤣

Not a quick access one bc it’s a lot of work to maintain :/
SF>Grit ward for war bruisers? With consideration to tumblers/ironheart?
Completely do not understand the logic with Enchanted Ward. Bows use lighting hence I will put it in a C Tier. What? :)
Regardless of elemental damage. they're using light and heavy attacks.
I loved the video because it gives me some insight to what I should be building towards
So what is the meta bruiser running in wars right now? slash conditioning on two pieces and strike conditioning on two pieces?
Mostly slash cond and a strike prot amulet. Rest is sf/grit ward with a few weapon perks and freedom.

Would Shirking Fort be extra good with the low gear score scaler?
I mean it’d be fine the op part about shirking fort is healing breeze
@@mecr0w why is that?

The cd is on the jewelry that activates. So yes you can have 2 procs!

For sure
but.. is this overall or is it pvp perks.. for me it looks like more a pvp tier list.. could be nice with a pve tier list

Enchanted ward does nothing vs abilities. Ability burst is normally what kills you in group play but sure it def helps mitigate the L click spam
Enchanted ward slept on
Yea for specific roles it’s not bad at all
It's less relevant in this meta because of Nature's Wrath.
Don't you think with mag gauntlets shirking fort uptime is cucked??
Not really anymore no. Ig vg isn’t able to get into position to consistently strip the effect when you need it nowdays.
@@mecr0w what changed that keeps ig vg from being in the clump now?
I would swap your A and B entirely, then move Grit Ward up to B.
get well soon man
Yea this thing kicked my ass
is it worth using 4 SHeals without Ankh?
Def is a lot better with ankh. If you are solo it’s still a good move though. In group play I think 1 sh to proc heeling breeze is kinda a must rn.
