A good buff to koyas would be either 33% base dmg reduction to all ranged attacks but you gain +20% extension to incoming cc effects, so in light you will be more resistant to ranged but you will be even more susceptible to cc, I don’t like when they straight up reduce damage as a downside, rather go for different gameplay elements that make sense Blooddrinker should’ve inhibited all incoming heals by 33% or something instead of nerfing what synergies with life steal
completely agree with the koya's idea, don't want the downsides I suggested more so meant I'd make it work no matter what the tradeoff was if they would at least make it worth using and give the option. personally don't think they should've reverted the change for light getting negative freedom, but they caved. if blooddrinker worked that way I don't think it'd even be a debate that it'd be the best solo artifact jewelry tho
For maining hatchet I feel like you need to be light. I play spear/hatchet in medium and if I'm on hatchet (usually by accident due to game not registering swap...) and I try to attack, I will miss almost all attacks. They do not connect in medium for me.
you can make it work, but that's part of my issue with it. the fact that you have to slow people and spend all your stamina constantly dodging toward the person just to remain remotely close enough to track is just bad and isn't an issue with a lot of other melee weapons. they said the tracking was going to be better after the slayer script update, and weirdly some things are but they're mostly pve related and with the degraded server performance it feels even worse than it used to

definitely still a solid build, haven't changed anything from my build guide in the last video yet, still waiting for the next balance patch to actually go live so we can see what changes are made versus what they said they'll likely do
pretty close. hatchet has keen speed instead of a weapon perk, 350str/50dex/50int/150con, slash on ring instead of keen, and I experimented with some different amulet perks but I think im gonna stick with divine and stam recovery til the shirking empower change. purify and refreshing recovery felt pretty good on tank but wasted in medium

thank you brother 🤝 if I were you, I'd run all the same gear for both sets and only switch the shield and the sword. nature's wrath chest, frigid dawn for all the other armor pieces. pvp artisan's round shield and a sword with thwarting+pen backstab. pve tower shield with shield rush, enchanted ward, and a protection, sword probably farm a lifering sword and put refreshing move on it and a taunt gem. could change up your secondary weapon pretty easily like hammer for pve and bb/inferno for pvp or whatever you have fun with
wasn't really talking about the war meta where people actually optimize and play the objective, personally don't care about wars. was talking more so about the opr meta where filthy casuals like me tend to play whatever is easiest to play as a solo, hence the ranged meta. they don't want to stand in the clump and get focused down without the assurance of a healer being available, so they gravitate towards something they can play at a safe distance. pretty routinely have matches where 19 blues are standing in the road 20 meters from a clump of 20 reds just shooting at each other with nobody dying and I'm skirting around the edge trying to look for someone I can pick off from the herd. as far as the strongest, most well-rounded build I've play though you're not wrong. heavy sns/spear is never going to lose a 1v1
@PJsurely I mained musket for awhile, mostly cuz it was fun and challenging, but I was in the shit on the point. Now I'm either hatchet GS or VG IG, the latter is pumping out so much dps, I can take a heavy sns user 1v1 and win, only weakness is if they focus my pylon fast, but most ppl ignore pylons, while Mines hitting for 1.5 to 4k a shot, depending on who it's attacking.
I don’t know how to feel about our in new world but it seem like everytime I played and got hit I was always stunned and couldn’t move and you always getting ganked or one shotted plus I have farm for artifacts by myself, for now it’s unenjoyable
well that's a big part of the reason I'm currently frustrated with it personally, it's been my favorite game for a while because it can be very fun, but at the moment there are so many things that need attention that I'm just playing out of habit rather than actually enjoying myself
@PJsurely like 10 new opr maps. 10 new arena maps(no more 1 map per week bs). Capture the flag(other different modes for opr) could even have a massive opr map with 5 bases. Fix all desync, fix all bugs. Nerf life staff in these pvp game modes. Make world pvp great again. I love new world and it's pvp. Tis a shame. Also love your vids :D

i get that the game has issues.. and the bad gameplay feeling, and stuttering and what not is just trash. used to flow so much better. But, as far a weapons ,builds and balancing goes, its actually very good atm, better then its ever been. i feel like many folks are just getting too negative with NW, and start trashing everything. or any time they die or lose its cuz "AGS is trash and game unbalanced" etc.. thats just not really true. and even as mellee these days, isnt all that bad.. u can play a killa assasin, or a bruiser or a heavy boi very succesfuly.. Skill>everything else too. there r many melle, ranged and magic builds that all are strong. of course, if u alnoe in opr, on the road, and there are multiple ranged shooting at u, its ruff. thats not how your build shud play then. also its like everyone always takes the opponents strongest situation, against their own weakest, to show n say its unbalanced. i just hope AGS gets things n combat running more smoth again, in general. cuz thats the biggest issue, imo. and then lets see what june brings ;) im not playing much atm (since v rising 1.0) its good to mix things up. ive played NW for bout 3 years straight now. ha
my brother I appreciate you respectfully disagreeing, but I often talk about things being unbalanced even when I'm the one using them. like in this video did it seem at all fair that the light hatchet player simply couldn't put a dent in my healthbar but once I turned my attention to him he was dead within a few swings? the tradeoff is intended to be mitigating more damage means you typically do less damage, the game is far from balanced. I imagine this is probably the first video of mine that you've watched since I've been championing the game and the devs relentlessly since I started making content again even to the point of muting commenters that chime in just to be negative about the game. at some point though, the onus is no longer on us as players and enjoyers of the game to simply ask for what we'd like to see happen and give the devs the benefit of the doubt that it will eventually come. pvp players have been asking for a new opr map where ranged isn't at such an advantage relentlessly for over two years, yet nothing. at some point it has to fall back on the devs to actually make real, measurable progress. many players, like yourself, have already voiced their frustration by taking their time and attention elsewhere. I still play the game because I enjoy it sometimes and am inconsolably frustrated with it other times, I just want it to be as fun as I know it can be and as it once was.

Я, например, принципиально не пользуюсь зельями регенерации, зельями снижения урона и едой +44 или 48 тк это дорого. Почему разработчики не сделают бесплатное использование в ОПР как на арене для меня загадка. New World это в первую очередь MMO, а значит равных условий не будет никогда, оружие, броня, зелья вносят дисбаланс. Если хочешь справедливого боя, тебе в сессионные action MMO.
I think that might be my idea for my next video then, "gear doesn't matter". and use a bunch of random blue gear to show that it is the weapons and skills themselves which need balancing.

well I've done unedited, full gameplay videos. they never perform as well telling me that people prefer highlights. I avoid doing "single kill" type clips like most people and try to at least make each segment a decently long stretch. if you watch any of my previous opr videos you'll never see me use regen pots or a rapier so I'm not sure why you're making so many assumptions, but I regularly play builds that are not the meta. once people finally catch on, and they become the meta, I move on to something else. nobody was playing hatchet when I started making videos with it, miicrow ranked it f-tier and said it was rarely used.. spear wasn't used when i made videos with it months and months ago. this isn't a "how to abuse the meta" channel. using blue gear does more than enough to prove that people are more concerned about which perks to use than they should be, regardless of any skill gap.
it's pretty rough. we've been waiting for months to see what this big June update they've been hyping up is all about, but if it's just more pve shit... probably right behind you brother

When you have the shaky cam bug on 03:13 right click with Blunderbuss to "zoom" and it will fix it. Its a bug with BB and Musket.

Meta chasers are what killed the pvp in this game

No what killed pvp is ags refusing to fix bugs and add more maps and game modes for pvp
Also life staff is way worse than bows and muskets. Remove life staff from pvp. Maybe peopl3 would come back to the game if all of this happened
