- This poorly designed mechanic is being utilized in PVP. It was brought to AGS' attention and was deemed not an issue, but is being abused by players. In this video I wanted to introduce gearscore is BROKEN.

Someone said this has been in the game since 2023. If that's true, what else is there? What are all the "elite" companies abusing and keeping quiet about more? The gap between new players and seasoned might be more than just "skill"

Well this explains something I've been experiencing. My lowbie alts I just took from 60-65 and they were still wearing 600 gear felt more durable than my 700 gs main. I thought I was going nuts because playing an alt on eu with 200 ping in 600 gs was going great. 💀

I do but we proved it to not be 100% accurate and thing the dmg formula changed. I was going to see if I could create an equation today to model it.

Hey , i'm tot play this kow poo game for a reason. But before i stopped i made on my last video , test about armor and absorb how hard is to calculate what and how is working.but i got a low lvl Flail by an accident and got totally different numbers on mitigation, and don't understand why.
I remember running into a player VERY early in the game that was called "NO PVE" and he would sit outside Myrk at lvl 30 and 2shot 60s. Saw this man win a 3v1 because scaling made him godly.
The fact that they still have a job after so many failures amazes me.

Thier real problem is they never fixed anything. They always act like it's a big deal to change a line of code real quick and patch the game for 2mb. Like almost every other game dev company can do. THEY can't. They always make us wait months and then forget about fixing that bug or just dont prioritize it. They talk about focus on quality with there new releases but never go back and fix the quality of the game itself
Has this been tested in war recently? I knew people that used this bug but apparently this did not work in wars like it did in open world. Just curious if that has changed

Not the first time stuff like this happen. My guess is theres different people working on different versions of the build and they don't sync up between each others well enough. So every now and then an update re-introduces old stuff that has gotten patched out already.
maybe someone pulled an old branch in when they were doing the Slayer Script stuff, or they straight up used the old, unpatched code for the reworks as it was cleaner and forgot to add this fix back.
Any chance people knew about this a long time ago? I remember a healer in war linking his 620 jewelry 2-3 months ago. I assumed it was because he was on his alt and had no gold for 700 shit.
beside what u said , i think there is something about gearscore dps aswell , i got shot from level 21 bow and took around 5k dmg with bis gear and i hit him for 7k with musket . he deal way too more than other bis gear player as lvl 21 player :) . i dont have low level account to try . if u know whats going on tell me please . i dont have a lot of info about these stuff ♥

Run one weapon in OPR if you want to lower GS ?
Yep, people are just removing gear in OPR to get around the scaling and lower gs further. Apparently jewelry is the popular slots to drop first, and convenient since jewelry is perhaps the easiest to give up, stat-wise and for not making your character blatantly be missing armor slots or a weapon. I imagine the most "efficient" way though is no jewelry and 1 weapon.

Prob the opr fix but it doesn’t work… people took off weapons in opr and r basically invincible

I believe it affects pvp that doesn’t have a gearscore requirement for an instance, which most people don’t care about. Not 100% sure though.

Going down gear score is costly in attributes tho - eg just -20 con is about 700hp loss which is when just dropping to 400gs weapon. if u drop to grey 100gs weapon u lost 38 stat, which is insane loss. So i dont think dropping gear score is actually that valuable or game breaking.

So I heard about the PvP shard and thought oh maybe the devs are cooking after all. But I see they are still using shitty ingrediencies and bad chefs
they don´t care becuse new world is only hear to test their new engine and now after beeing gone for 6 months i know why i could not kill that freaking paladin earler se if i got the time to test this my self but, it´s easy to forget about this game

God - I hope they get rid of gear score altogether and the only thing that matters are the perks and character.

Trick trick used to expose big game breaking bugs like this, so it brings it up to AGS and they literally asked him to stop doing it or they will take action against him or something for basically exposing exploits to the community in hopes to get it fixed.
They have a track record of not prioritizing game breaking bugs in the live content since the games release. I appreciate the work you do, just be careful AGS doesn’t come after you for exposing these bugs and forcing them to fix it. While I agree with your thought process of letting everyone know, AGS sees it differently, they care more about console release vs the live client of the game.
The difference is this was being used in pvp so it has to be fixed vs some of the stuff trick exposed was not being abused at the time… I agree this was a last resort from my pov
@@mecr0w the exploits he was exposing were being abused in pvp But it is what it is. Figured I just put it out there. I agree with you making it public knowledge makes it fixed faster. Just trying give you a heads up is all.
Its not a fucking bug it's just shitty math or a horrible idea on how damage mitigation should work. Like why should players accept stuff like this in ANY RPG games where stats is a high priority on whatever you win or loose????

I was wondering why in OPR I'll get hit for some ungodly damage number and it'll show a grey firestaff or other low level weapon. I just thought they were showing off lol. This game has so many exploits but I still enjoy it.

Combat system was never 9/10 in this game. It always sucked. Pretty graphics with a shallow shitty buggy trash system behind it. Made by idiots for idiots.
Not to be "non-alarmist" but outside of war this is not a problem and in war its only a problem for a few support roles which were already barely die. Problem? Yes. Problem AGS should spend time on? No.
It’s a problem for open world and when u introduce a pvp zone focused on open world it can cause… issues. Also ruins gear economy and a few other subsystems.

It's truly mind-boggling how AGS, with their abysmal grasp on basic arithmetic, have the audacity to tout themselves as engineers. Perhaps they should consider going back to elementary school to brush up on their mathematical skills before attempting to tackle any real engineering projects.
Normally, I support your content. But this one is in really bad faith. I honestly have to say I’m disappointed. You knew this would intensify the public’s distaste towards NW and the devs. And right before the Friday announcement. Sad to see you sell out for a few extra views
Maybe AGS should just fix it. This exposure is a good thing, as this is just another elite-company secret/exploit that has tainted the game for who knows how long. Also its just 6k views.
I don’t care about the views I care about the pvp island & other pvp modes being fair and balanced for players.
Well, AGS ignored the community reports (as always), people kept it secret to avoid the abuse of it, and waited for changes for sooooo long. After ONE YEAR (actually more like 16 months) people use it to win wars and open world fights, so it was necessary to make it public.
The community avoided this situation for 16 months and AGS did literally nothing, they didn't listen.
It's AGS fault and only AGS fault. Blame them.
