Did you have to unhook the rectifier at any point doing this project? I’m doing the project now and I’m struggling with getting all the components unhooked
@@cdonald2088 Yes, I mentioned that in the video. I bought an aftermarket tail off of Ebay and the plastic was very stiff. It was very hard getting over subframe and relays. I cut off the two spots to mount the two relays, I believe they were on the right side. I then just zip tied under the rear passenger seat on the subframe.
@@russlogan181 Do the double seat conversion if you're going to keep the bike. Not too expensive. Using ebay for subframe, seats, rear cowl, and passenger pegs it came up to about $270. Well worth the money.
Idk why they ever went back to the banana seat. The F4 had the banana seat, then the F4i came out looking more sporty, then they went back to the banana again. Other countries had the option until 06.
Yeaaaa IDK either. The double seat looks way better. The only thing positive about the banana seat is I think the people that do stunts like the banana seat better. The banana seat look horrendous!!! 4real
@BKPTips-n-Insights That's what I mean. I always buy used bikes. There's so many good deals out there and for me the less electronic tech, the less to go wrong. I have a 06-07 Bandit 1250 and 2014 S1KRR. The BMW I leave in sport mode and try not to play. Quickshifter I don't even need.

What subframe do I need to order from Amazon? Like do I need to put split seat or anything in the search bar or just 03 f4i tail subframe ?
Order the 03 F4i tail subframe, it has the split seat. 04 F4i is when the tail changed to banana seat.

No, I didn't unhook the rectifier ant any point. You can route it thru the subframe without unhooking it. Just remove the OEM undertail.

@@VMnR It definitely looks hideous. I'd still take an F4i over the modern 650R.
@@davidlagno7717 Ok. I went to research the 650R and it only has 95HP. The 04 f4i has 110HP.
