The way her fingers caress the keys always amazes me....no matter what she plays, it seems so effortless. I hope that one day, I can look this graceful playing the piano! Bravo Valentina!
Valentina Lisitsa, you play like an Angel. I have never seen hands move over the keys as lightly & fluidly as yours. I am studying this piece & to see it played so exquisitely, to such perfection is a revelation. Thank you. Bless you.
THIS is how this piece should be played. Such passion. Almost luring the notes from the keys instead of forcing them. I've heard Ständchen played by so many. And so many times (while I thought the music beautiful) it was played clipped. To staccato. Bravo.
I am amazed and moved that this wonderful song , which penetrates deep into the human heart , has caused the willingness of many different players to perform . From Tokyo Japan .
Amazing the way Valentina plays. Like Arthur Rubinstein said on TV years ago, in order to play the music wright, you have to BECOME the MUSIC, BE the MUSIC, FEEL the MUSIC. Well Valentina surely has understood and translated that into her brilliant play. Always a pleasure to watch her hands move in harmony, and close your eyes and dream away while listening to the music. Thank you Valentina.
This video inspired me to learn this piece, I'm only one page in but really enjoying it, lucky I don't play piano for a living though, I'd be a lot poorer than I already am :o
The first time I heard this piece was while watching The Young Victoria, great movie. I knew I had to find out who wrote it and I also knew I wanted to learn how to play it. I haven't had the opportunity to learn this yet, but I will. I love to hear you play Valentina and I hope that I can see you play live one day! Just beautiful as always!
It is very wonderful performance and the work.It shakes person,s soul. The composer might have received 「blessing」 for the first time in the life at this time. If not, it will not come the work which shakes and impresses man,s soul so much . There are few works where tears are spilled when we feel heartwarming listening.
the atmosphere is perfect; that place is wonderful . . . the candles; and standchen you played this piece, dear Valentina, with so much sweetness and passion. What a gentle sound! Beautiful; all is beautiful
For the first time, the Standchen is really a standchen, and the piano is singing under her ministrations. Oh tender fingers! You strike tender feelings, shot like a brief lightning, bright and white, then is gone.
It has all been said already, you make incredible music and you seem to do it by stroking the piano. I find it almost hypnotic. Looking forward to seeing you in concert in Edinburgh in May.
Emely Alarcon. As did I. I bought the CD to the film, but it was a very short piece. I don't know about you, but I've found it very difficult to find the complete piece on any CD. I would love it if Valentina Lisitsa had recorded it.
Hi! This is so nice,it's like going through the storm with You.I've got the Chopin &Schubert-liszt DVDs. Very nice! I've got to have the London DVD when its ready. LvU & Prayer Dan
Well after al the pianistic fireworks of Liszt and Rachmaninoff, Valentina also knows how to keep herself in check and keep the singing voice of Schubert in. It reminds me of Horowitz: he could also play anything he wanted, the most difficult ones included, but sometimes closed his recitals with this Ständchen from Schubert or this Liszt, slightly embellished version...
This was just wonderful, as TeRealDijin said, since I can't play this version I'm learning the simpler one but the piece itself is great and furthermore your interpretation Valentina, thank you.
@missesofarrell I think the mesmerizing movements of her beautiful hands give the excecution the exact tempo & rithm required for this sublime piece of music. I wish my cheeks, were the keyboard of that fortunate Bosendorfer........
With some heavenly music ripping something off the internet should be allowed right ; ), just search up a youtube converter, paste this URL and you can download an mp3 file

I think so too. It is a word of elegance.
Valentina Lisitsa, you play like an Angel. I have never seen hands move over the keys as lightly & fluidly as yours. I am studying this piece & to see it played so exquisitely, to such perfection is a revelation. Thank you. Bless you.
I think she is playing by her heart, putting her emotions on the piano, lucky piano 🎼
The song is so romantic. Perfect to meditate and the pianist plays with a lot of passion
Valentina, you are just great! You became the music and the music became you. One on one!
Thank you!
THIS is how this piece should be played. Such passion. Almost luring the notes from the keys instead of forcing them. I've heard Ständchen played by so many. And so many times (while I thought the music beautiful) it was played clipped. To staccato. Bravo.
That was an absolute privilege to watch and hear.
All privileges

the harmony and the melody beg to be snuggled with ❤
Great perfomance ! You, Lisitsa, play so well ! Much love :)

epineh but happier👍
I absolutely adore her playing and interpretation. Especially for this, and Chopin Valse 18, I havent found a better transcription.
I watch this video as I study for my math test and actually end up watching more than studying... sigh. ^^
I'm doing it now 😢😅😅
Holy shit I am doing that right now!

2019 and still listening to your magical performance
2020 and still listening to her magical performance
2023 and still
Especially on this piece, she plays with such beautiful physical movement, if you were to mute this the visual performance alone is poetry.

Valentina, thank you for playing so good this song.
3:25 Valentina's magical touch
the atmosphere is perfect; that place is wonderful . . . the candles; and standchen
you played this piece, dear Valentina, with so much sweetness and passion. What a gentle sound! Beautiful; all is beautiful
I`m a pianist but this lady has more talent in her little finger than I have - she is a wonderful musician
Beautiful performance. Thanks Valentina.
Bellissimo. I've played the song at 5.04 for years , but played by you is totally another thing. I love it. Wonderful!
I love this music so much, but also the way she plays it. It's like a good massage, afterwoods I feel like a new person. Wonderfull!!
Gefällt mir, sehr geschmeidig
gespielt.
I love the candels and i adore the playing and i fall in love in her ❤😴
My favorite pianist in the whole world!
She's
the motivation for me at least to play the "easy" 1st part of this song. I really enjoy it. Thanks.
This is just great! Playing on the highest level! A real pleasure to listen to.
This is absolutely beautiful, Perfect touch and perfomed with great feeling.
Best wishes, Bryan

For the first time, the Standchen is really a standchen, and the piano is singing under her ministrations. Oh tender fingers! You strike tender feelings, shot like a brief lightning, bright and white, then is gone.
Beautiful played!
Beautiful and mesmerizing just as it should be!

Pure poetry... Deep and brilliant ..(And sometimes one may think ,she has a three hands...)
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you. That's so wonderful!
This woman is pure gold
Simply grandiose.
Fabuleus! !! Super.
What a romantic piece isn't it?
Surely
@Kelvin Klopper i felt eerie anxiety
Of course, it was composed in the romantic period xD
For me it is the best Ständchen on tube, even better than the great Horowitz played. So subtle, soft, loving, feeling the music. Sincerely beutiful.
So, so, so good!!
SONO D'ACCORDO SHUBERT GRANDE QUI RIVEDO IL ROMANTICISMO E LA TRISTEZZA DI CHOPIN GRANDE MI FA QUASI PIANGERE
I first heard this song in the movie “the young Victoria” gorgeous movie and when I hear this I instantly fell in love with the song 😍

Bravo!!! Would you feel offended if I told you this is the best interpretation I have ever heard after that of Horowitz? 😊👍
Cet écho... c'est juste parfait.
Mesmerising ❤
Very thank for your channel, tantube5!
This piece makes me feel so sad but with nostalgyc and some kind of melancholyc
That's Schubert for you.

So beautiful piece and so perfect pianiste please a recital in Paris with Schubert and some pieces more playful because everybody Will be crying.
@missesofarrell I think the mesmerizing movements of her beautiful hands give the excecution the exact tempo & rithm required for this sublime piece of music. I wish my cheeks, were the keyboard of that fortunate Bosendorfer........
Lovely, Vala ... lovely.
You know that I love you so much ....😘😘❤❤❤
Gracias Valentina.

Divine Valentina !
OMG!
10 years on, and I'm still listening to this video regularly. Did she ever record this piece for a CD I wonder. Does anyone know?
With some heavenly music ripping something off the internet should be allowed right ; ), just search up a youtube converter, paste this URL and you can download an mp3 file
mooi, jij bent echt goed zeg!
My feelings for pure love.
Zo mooi!
Perfetta!
I can play this.
I want to know why some dislike this.
Does anyone know where I can find the sheet music?
When did Franz L ever sleep? Composing, transcribing, teaching, performing.
He never watched TV, rarely tweeted, didn't spend much time on Instagram and Facebook, and never had a Netflix account.
mesmerising
Liszt would say "BRAVO!"
say what
He died in 1886, so unless you're 119 years old, your're not born in the same century
Didn't Schubert write this and Liszt transcribe it? I think Schubert should have at least some mention :)
The title of the video begins with "F. Schubert, Schwanengesang..." I hear ya though, def gotta holla atcha boy Schubydooby!
wiggityp Oh my gosh I was sure it said Liszt. Maybe they changed it after reading my comment hahaha
Noah: I believe this was an arrangement of F. Liszt , but a composition of F. Schubert
Noah Johnson You’re right. This is Schubert’s Serenade transcribed later by Liszt
Simply delicious.
