What a beautiful and informative video, thank you. You didn’t mention that the station buildings at Plockton are now available as a holiday let, “Off the Rails”, you can see the name board on the gable end. It’s a lovely place in a very beautiful location, My wife and I stayed there on holiday several times before her death not long after this video was made in December 2022. It’s quite novel eating your breakfast and watching the commuters waiting for the first train to Inverness.
This video brings bittersweet memories. TonyS Yate, Bristol.

Thank you David. This was one of my favourite videos of all the videos I have made. The Kyle line is really special and unique. I did make a separate video featuring Plockton and Duirinish Stations in which I mentioned the accommodation at Plockton. It is on my You Tube channel. Best Wishes, Stephen.

Thanks for producing this video. Our family had the privilege to ride this line roundtrip between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh during our vacation to the UK in 2017. Stunning scenery. Truly, a memorable journey.

Thank you Mark. I have been interested in railways for well over 50 years and sometimes you go on a journey that will live long in the memory. The Kyle Line in the Scottish Highlands is one such journey. Not only was the journey memorable but the story of how the line was built and the way in which it has survived over the years was also equally memorable. Thank you for the reply and I am so pleased the video brought back memories for you.

Shame we just missed you, we were there on 19th Sept, having watched HM's funeral on our phones outside Achnasheen station!

Lovely video👍 had the pleasure of wandering around this little station at the end of Sept last year & I was the only soul there! 😮. Had an overnight stop off at the kyle of Lochalsh before making my way over to Skye & then on to the Uists. I can also remember back in the 90's catching the ferry from there over to Skye when the bridge was under construction, can't believe it must have been nearly 30 years ago!

Thank you for your very kind review Simon. There is something really special about the Kyle Line that lives on in the memory. I also made a video about the 2 stations immediately up the line from Kyle at Duirinish and Plockton which is also available to watch on my You Tube channel. I am so pleased that you enjoyed watching the video and thanks again for your review.

Thank you for the review Will and for subscribing to the channel. The Kyle Line is certainly memorable and I also hope to do the Far North Line to Wick and Thurso this year. You might also be interested in some of the video’s that I made from the Cumbrian Coast Line last year. This line contains a number of beautiful and remote stations along one of the forgotten coasts of Britain. Not only are there spectacular views of the Cumbrian Fells but also quaint villages, rural countryside as well as stunning coastline. Thanks again for the review, it is much appreciated.

I'd love to make that trip. In 1967 I was a student at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and one of the guys at our boarding house was from Dingwall. I wish I'd taken a trip up there back in the day! If you'd like to make this available for purchase, I'd be glad to buy a copy.

Thank you for your very kind review Allan and for subscribing to the channel. The Kyle line is one of those railway journeys that lives long in the memory and I hope you will be able to do it in the future. I started to make videos for my You Tube channel last year after retiring from work. I do it as a hobby but if you would like to download the video you are most welcome to do so. Thanks again for you review and best wishes.
