Have you got any beef with Horizon? What would you like to see in the next one or will you be busy playing whatever other massive blockbuster releases on the same day?

I feel the exact same way except for the burning shores. I thought they did a very great job in building that world, especially with the cloud update. HOWEVER, i think they missed the mark with a lot. Exploring the sea and the abandoned city is incredible, until you realize theres nothing really to do with them. Most of the buildings are just place holders that you can’t actually explore or all look the exact same, and the sea is awesome but it’s barren and theres not much to do. Same with the clouds; cool at first but not much incentive to keep going up there. Like what if they made sky/sea battles using your machine, or if aloy gets the ability to shoot a new harpoon weapon underwater or shoot arrows off of her flying mount. Now that would make it that much more memorable. I just think they could have done much more.

Very nice video! I also think if they didnt have so many points of interest spelled out on map markers it would help the feeling of discovery. Like it can show up on the hud sure, but I feel like I genuinely have to interact with an environment when I'm given an area of interest rather than a point. And they do that, but in quest structures rather than world exploration.

Thank you! Yes, i totally agree. It feels like when you reach each new area, you're given a check list of tings to complete - ruins, survey drones, rebel bases. You don't really feel like you stumple upon these things organically. Sometimes you do, but generally like you say, you're told to head to a point on the map.

this is one of my fav franchise ever and I played since the nes era back in the 80s when I was a 5 year old. that said the game should more accesable for the masses. the overwhelming of several enemies at a time and no time to hit back. yes I suck and I play at ultra hard but still. and also to find you way in cauldrons especially, the climbing needs improvement too. I love the games when they good the one of a kind but I totally agree with you on picking up herbs over and over and over.

This is an interesting opinion to have about Horizon's world. I Can't say I share it, but I certainly respect it. Also, I find the comparison between your experience with it and Cyberpunk to completely contrast with mine. I hate Cyberpunk's world, but not in the way that one would think. Its very well realized and put together, especially these days with all the updates added and much of the jank patched out. However, it gives me a bit of an uneasy feeling. Its a more degenerative version of what seems to be currently happening to society; the increasing disconnect between the rich and everyone else, the income gaps, the increasing control over our lives by corporate interests. Its not really place I liked to be, or explore. But again, its not because of the implementation or it being a bad game. In that regard its really good. I just apparently don't care for the cyberpunk theme, I guess. I replayed it a couple times to see some different choices and have different interactions with certain characters, but not because I missed Night City. I would hate to live there. I think your idea of being able to interact with the world of Horizon and the people within is really what its missing and im sure that could go a long way to remedying what you feel is missing. I found coming back to Horizon's world much more desirable and enjoyed the combat much better, even with it's flaws. Also loved diving back through the world itself. Its just beautiful. Cyberpunk is as well. Beautifully dark, I guess.

Yes, one thing that Horizon's world has going for it is that's it's a pleasant and vibrant place to explore. I cut out a paragraph where i spoke about how refreshing it was to explore a world that wasn't full of decay and hideous creatures, having just played Elden Ring, A Plagues Tale and Resident Evil 4 consectutively. And as you say about Night City, those places are beautifully dark. But i'd say those worlds have a stronger focus on how they make the player feel i,e uneasy, distressed, lonely etc. Whereas the tone of the world of Horizon doesn't make me feel anything really.
But that's just me, i'm glad you love it and i can see why, it's not lost on me completely, i enjoyed the game and i'm sure i'll enjoy the next one too!
Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching!

For me, the game has only 2 flaws, the first is that the game has an end, the second is the exploration sometimes as you said isn't rewarding, most of the time you get up of a mountain or a skyscraper to get a box with things that you can just sell for money, if they put there some exclusive loot like some power-ups (I don't remember exactly the name of the power-ups you can attach to weapon and armor), maybe armor or weapon, or just some currency that you can trade

Horizon is great. I also have never played a game I loved where I never had anything to criticize. Doesn't matter still love it. The world is fine, it's the people in it that matter, and there are plenty of characters to care about. Every world has different goals. The Horizon world is a place for character stories to take place with the main quest and side quests. And that is enough.
That being said, your suggestions aren't bad. I'm just happy with it as it is.

I completely concur with your thoughts. Despite my love for Horizon Forbidden West, I find myself struggling with the issues highlighted in your video. Guerrilla appears to have combined the good and bad aspects from the previous game and added more of both to the new installment, resulting in confusion regarding weapons and outfits. Upgrading them can be a frustrating experience. The surplus of weapons makes it difficult to choose which one to use, causing further confusion.

Yeah, weapons and armour are confusing. At a certain point i just gave up and decided to stick with my current loadout for the rest of the game.

Upgrading weapons was very annoying, didn’t help that you had inconsistent drop rates for upgrade materials.

My biggest issue is all the wokeness that they smeared all over the forbidden west. With the nail in the coffin being the whole dlc just being there to shoehorn in a lesbian lover for Aloy, because it wasn't enough to make almost every npc gay. Yes there's a number of issues the most reoccurring, for me, being your flying mount giving stuck in objects or aloy getting stuck in objects while submerged, those I can live with. I've played horizon for years, I love the world, I've done all I can to support it, purchasing every edition preorder and dlc up to now, including call of the maintain. However I won't spend another penny on it or with guerrilla. Personally I think everyone that's not a lunatic lefty should boycott this.

Agreed on the wokeness smeared like shit on the game, but I won't boycott. I'll see it through the 3rd one, and then move on. World building, technical prowess, and solid gameplay are still there to keep me interested.

@@pEx3y I agree, it's still an amazing game, but by doing that your just encouraging them and others to continue it. I'm tired of rising above it, or ignoring it. It's time to stoop to their level.

Since Aloy is a clone of Elisabet Sobek, it makes a lot of sense that she is a lesbian as well.
