That Zelda Easter egg is crazy. I've noticed the Triforce but figured that it was coincidental so I never would've guessed to try the inputs for Zelda's Lullaby. Aloy even says "It's dangerous to go alone". Nice.
same here!!!!
It's dangerous to go alone TAKE THIS!!!
And as the door is opening.... "Hey Listen!"
Dang. I noticed the symbol as well. But also thought it was coincidence.
I've never played the older Zelda titles, so I would never have figured out how to open them anyways.
Also Ocarina of Time was one of the first episodes of HAWP starring Aloy’s VA, Ashly Burch. “Zelda’s hat, why’s it weird, she looks like a nun.”
The special fox and the memorial are great to include them in the game. It’s especially touching putting in the memorial as it will live in the game forever. They did miss out on not allowing you to pet the Inari fox at the shrine.
#4 almost made me cry 😥 That was such a touching and lovely memorial! Thank you for making this!
Yes, it was a beautiful find for me, by accident, not from looking on the net. Then after experiencing the tribute I looked it up online. Then I cried.
@@barryschwarz I haven't experienced it in game, but the next time I feel like play Horizon, I'm definitely searching for it! I bet it was even more emotional finding it on your own and researching it!
Yeah. It was extremely well; just like everything else in the game. It was also the only one of these secrets I found on my own while playing.
For the Totem of Youth, you can find a small bow with a number of arrow's that were shot in a tree on the west side near the snapmaw site. Which, once investigated, will show you a trail to the totem.
Oh I found that tree, but no trail appeared after scanning it. Still found the totem by accident when going in that direction afterwards.
Same😅
Love all the cool little details in this game, I feel like we don't get fun little easter eggs like this anymore as much as we used to
Weirdly enough. I looked out for the tribute on the small island after watching your video on hfw
Thank you for this! Here are two more: there are two notes from HZD characters that hint that they might return: Gildon has a note at the exit of a cavern near Latopolis and Brin is mentioned in an Oseram diary near a campfire surrounded by a bunch of dead Oseram, who, presumably drank machine oil. Both characters have mentioned heading to the Burning Shores, so I assume they will be in the DLC...
The Oseram camp with the diary is at a campfire on the north side of the lake near Sylens' Hades workshop.
Hey, time traveler here, I am happy to say that you were completely right.
It amazes me to discover how little I know about this game even after 120 hours of gameplay. Amazing video, thanks for it!
I found the shrine and had no idea of its significance. How incredibly touching
What was so weird to me was that the totems were hidden so randomly, not even the game told you where they were unless you saw a video or are exploring. So weird they didn’t bring back merchant selling collectibles maps.
i mean they are meant to be secret, so it wouldnt really make sense if you knew where to find them
@@kjellbeats I understand, it didn’t ruin anything finding through people online but weird since ZD wasn’t like that.
yeah, it was much easier to find collectibles with those maps
@@AnthropicUniverse. Zero Dawn had something similar. You collected 3 items that were called Stranded Items: Stranded Figure; Stranded Shackles & Stranded Necklace. It was a nod to the game, Death Stranding
Ya. I bet the vast majority of people never found a single one. They are so random in the vast open world. I'm lucky I stumbled across one.
The triforce doors. She even says “it’s dangerous to go alone” which is the iconic saying from the first Zelda before you get the sword
This was pretty sick. Half of these I didn't know, which is crazy. The legend of Zelda one made me so happy ngl. I love that they put that in there, seeing as there were and are a lot of comparisons between this and breath of the wild. Goes to sho there aren't any hard feelings within the companies themselves
For the longest time I thought that poem was a reference to Ghost of Tsushima, Now i have a new appreciation for that island. Time for a tribute
Me too! And funny that there actually was a reference to GoT in the game, it just wasn't that one.
In the new God of War Ragnarok game one of Kvasir's poems refers to Aloy.
I found about 4 of these on my own (5 if you count the Triforce, but I didn't know you could open the doors with Zelda's lullaby). Some of these Easter eggs are pretty incredible and touching. When I found the memorial, I was rather moved. I just sat there in silence for a bit, understanding the solemnity of the moment but also appreciating the care that went into the message to their late friend. So much went into making Forbidden West a very humanizing and unforgettable game.
That memorial island one i didn't know. I remember i was about to go to bed. Had turned off my PC and spottet a light as i was out flying. Went to check it out and found this memoria. I was gonna check up what it was. But totally forgot. That's actually pretty nice. Giving a beloved memeber of the team who's passed a permanent spot in the game. It's always nice to see Developers do this in their games.
Thank you for this video! I just finished GOW on my Ps4, then bought a Ps5 so I could play Ragnarok after I finish Forbidden West. I just love the crossover & the most wonderful RIP that had me sobbing...don't even know of the person, but the memorial was beautiful! I am so glad I found this video early on in my travels, I really appreciate your thoughtful video of things I surely would have missed!
One other wholesome secret can be found in cauldron Gemini, after youve done the main quest there. Don't want to spoil the story for people, but those who know what happens there then finding that secret can be quite emotional
Do we find varl body?
@@RuthuTheBeast NOOOO, its burried, you find a bunch of flowers ib memory of him
I got a glitch when traveling back there and I heard all those characters talk 🤣 so weird
Awesome video. I knew there was something weird about those Zelda doors lol. I didn't know about half of these. I'm glad they put more stuff in the game like this than I thought. I really felt like the story needed more mystery & more secrets to be discovered.
I've got another little secret.
Near one of Scoroc's entrance (near a horse site) there is a destroyed tower. Inside of it there is a note written by the character Nozar who's talking about Ryas, Ittamen's shadow. I later found out that there is a VR game inspired of Horizon were you control this character. So that's pretty cool.
Also I'm french so some names might not be the same in English.
During killzone shadow fall LSR44 easter egg,you also missed the PnV06 Voltage lying in desk next to weapons rack
Great vid, 3 of the 10 I didn't know. Always great finding new bits👍
Thanks for this. I found a lot of these of these in game, but #4 was clearly something special, but I could never figure out who it was for.
I'll have to go back and do the cauldron ones. Was not aware of that secret. Thanks man.
Ty for ur work man love it
Nice one mate . Thanks for sharing that . 😊👍
Nice video. Hope you'll do more HFW vids in the future! Cheers
Thanks for making this!
3:21 i just found that island yesterday, and i was wondering who it was a memorial to. Knowing this makes the island so much better
I thought that memorial was for Jin Sakai a lá Ghosts of Tsushima. I’m crying now I had no idea it was for a dearly departed comrade. So sad and moving.
Well damn, I didn't know about any of these except I did see that cauldron door with the triforce symbol and just continued on my mission without thinking twice about it. Thanks for this video mate!
Great video man
#4 is incredible. You can tell they had some really great people on this team that were very close
Really good work from you. 👍 I wish you a comfortable year 2023 and good health.
I expected you to start with zero dawn but you make this the day my own LP starts. Nice
Another great vid
I had no clue the triforce doors could be unlocked. I've never been a Zelda fan so I wouldn't have even known about the lullaby.
Thanks for sharing
I hope you keep making secret videos on Mass Effect and Horizon. Your Red Dead ones are good but the variety is nice and those 2 games in particular have a lot of hidden things. Like mass effect for example has I think it was 3 or so species that were mentioned and have background impact on the plot but have never been seen in the games. I think one of the comics shows one(I think...) and there's some fan speculation on what they look like. Things like this are there but most people don't even realize it's in the game.
I might also be extremely biased because they're 2 of my favorite game franchises ever.
Thank You for this video.
The cauldron secret was brilliant, thanks for that
The last one I didn't know. Thanks. ;)
I only found one of these. Great video
Crikey, never heard of the Legend of Zelda reference. Interesting stuff.
wish i had a playstation to play this game and so many others, idk why i’ve kept myself on xbox for so long. great video, only makes me wanna play the game even more.
The downside to exclusives. I hope you get a chance to play it one day.
It's dangerous to go alone without supplies is a reference to the beginning of the first Zelda game when the old man gives you your first sword
That Triforce secret has blown my f*cking mind🤯🤯🤯
I found the God of war ax in a tree by a cabin. The totem was a neat touch. That was cool.
Coool video dude
Had no idea about the Zelda thing.rad
I haven't actually played attention to the cauldrons in the game, but now I wanna go and find me some Zelda easter eggs
This is great. Now I have an excuse to start playing the game again. Thanks for the secrets.
4 and 9 are fantastic
9:53 to 10:03 That's my footage, hehe. :D
Salud. 🤘🍉🏹✨❄🍻
I love this game, I love taking photo's in front of my dead opponents
Cool, I missed nearly all of them.
Cool video
I can't imagine how many tries it must have took for aloys va to do the memorial scene.
Awesome. I found some of this. But the zelda ones never got to open. Gotta return to them.
the killzone helmets are above the killzone guns too.
"It's dangerous to go alone" ...niiiice
What i like more about this video,is the title. It's clear and not trying to clickbait anyone like those "HORIZON FORBIDDEN WEST INSANE SECRETS EVERYONE MISSED OMG IM DYING" videos.
Oh Thank you for I did not know.
Hey, nice Video :) is the sword in stone already in Game? I cant find it😅
I also found a small toy billhook on the rocks.
I did the cart quest like a week ago and didn’t notice the flag there
that be a cool cross over Kratos and Aloy
DUDE!!! I always thought i was tripping with the triforce sigils i was like theres no way nintendo would sue! But man idk how they pulled it off but I’m definitely going back to each cauldron cause wow thats so amazing 🥹 God Bless Guerrilla Games!!
Rest in Piece Patrick.
Nice we can ride the birds
Somewhere there is a bow that Aloy can follow a trail from to find the Totem of Youth...
I found #4 but didn't know what it was about.
I stumbled upon the ax and totem .
I completed about 3 cauldrons but have never played Zelda, so missed the secrets
Respect to patrick munnik
another fun secret is the toy bow in burning shores
Wow they really went The Witcher 3 way with this game! That's great!
Omg that's awesome God of war
oh my i had found the fox but i thought it was a glitch
Hey, I encountered that fox. I thought it was randomly unkillable because of a glitch.
THE GAME IS AMAZING 🙏😥🙏😥🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️ I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
6:32 Fucking monster
Part 2 when?
HFW deserves Game of The Year
Triforce is on her clothes also her first clothes she gets
300 pet rocks lol what
Roadhouse
😂😂 bro why did I get a add right after I pressed F for respect😢
You shot inari? whyy
to prove that the fox wouldn't die
I thought the memorial was a ghost of sushima reference 😔
It's dangerous to go alone, take this
I found the same god dam fox, but didn't scan it, nor did I follow it...
I'm ukranian and I literally started crying when heard about the 9th secret. that's completely incredible
nazi
I’m Ukrainian too. And when I found it I 😢❤
Yeah so sweet ☺️ ❤😪😪
So this was added in recent patch?? Since game came out way before the current conflict?? This is incredible and stopped me in my tracks to reflect.
Why do you cry then?
"I bet a hit from this hammer would as loud as thunder" haha bruh so cheesy, could it be more obvious 🤣
3:15
Just an FYI, I'm fairly sure these brothers are from Norse legend, and were depicted in the game, yes, but they're not 'from' the game.
The reference is to their game counterparts, not the actual Norse mythology versions.
😊
I literally JUST found that fox and shot it with 40 arrows. Took pics of it. Left it. I thought it was a glitch. Damn.
This might be my opinion so fair warning.
I feel like forbidden West was completely rushed. It didn't feel as immersive and captivating as zero dawn did. There was so much to do and so many side missions and things to discover but in forbidden West it seemed like it pushed the main missions A LOT. Was that just me? Did I miss something? Also the weaponry was not half as good as zero dawn
I agree it seems they nerfed a lot of the weapons I used before. There were plenty of side missions I thought. But they came with the most long-winded and ridiculous explanations that I skipped half the dialogue to find out what obscure bush they needed so I could move on. Approaching end game now and I'm just avoiding those whingeing chuckleheads and their stupid problems
This is literally gamer ranks video
Legend of zelda is on the Nintendo consoles for anyone that never played legend of zelda
I really want to watch this video, but I want to play the game first... and apparently it's never coming to PC because... Absolute idiocy? So now I'm stuck in a whirlpool of anxiety and rage.... fuck!
“Horizon Forbidden West is a fantastic game”
Alright mate chill it’s 5 seconds in and you’re already using hyperbole
