If you visit Rost's grave throughout various points of the game, Aloy talks to him and shares updates about her adventures. Kind of like a diary. She even removes her focus before talking to him, to keep things private. It's a sweet and touching detail.
Aloy is told by Matriach Teersa that a grave was built for Rost near their home. Aloy, mentions in the game that she should visit his grave. She also tells Rost that she will be back when she ends her monologues. It is up to the player to first listen to Teersa and head up to the grave. This is very similar to going back to speak to Cyan and updating 'her' with new developments and finding out new information. It is not a secret if the game tells you about it inside the game.

Fun fact about the HZD Engine: Guerrilla Games gave it to Kojima use on Death Stranding without cost, Kojima's dev team then studied it to know what it could do and like it, his team made some upgrades on the engine and send it back to Guerrilla as thanks.
Wow. I love things like these, it's so nice. Makes them one big family 🙂❤️ I knew about Guerrilla giving them Decima engine, but not that Kojima Prod. gave them it back with upgrades! Btw, where did you get this info from?
A game detail that can easily be missed. Listen to the Carja priests' song in Meridian. If you follow them around you will see their different sunrise, noon, and sunset rituals with a unique song accompanying. It's really brilliant world building without resorting to dialogue or note reading.
I like some of the references to Egypt in this. Like how Faro sounds like Pharaoh and he saw himself like a ruler. Also the machines sound like the pharaoh swarm. Elizabet Sobeck is like Sobek, the crocodile headed god who was seen as the representation of the pharaoh’s power initially but he moved beyond that as time progressed.
1:30 precisely: the description of her outfit at the beginning of FW mentions the fact that such armor was found in ancient ruins, then lost its ability of generating the shield, and hence was modified by Aloy.
@@leahjasminkeller5589 No, we picked it up in a bunker where data points described the developmental history of it. Yes, it's from the old world but not from the Zeniths (the Sirians).
One interesting detail in Zero Dawn is in a cut scene where Aloy can see a series of numbers, you see them in reverse, they are 38-50 26N 105-02 39W. If you put them into a search engine such as Google Maps,These are the coordinates for Pikes Peak Colorado in the US.
Which cutscene is it? BTW, Colorado is one of the locations IRL where ZD takes place, and Nora land is mostly colorado. PIkes Peak are even in the game (or simplified stand in) is actually in the game, it is the proving grounds area.
Actually, never mind. Not sure if it is a part of the same cutscene I re-watched, because in that cutscene you can actually see them in normal reading order. This is when Aloy finds the focus she took from the leader of the massacre at the proving grounds, saying "TERMINATE" above, holo of aloy and sobek, and the coordinates under, which was just clear instructions of who to kill, a hint at the why, and the exact location she would be (as mentioned before, the proving grounds are Pikes Peak)

I've always been a sucker for a good story in all games. Games like the Halo games, Elder Scrolls, Sea of Thieves, Mass Effect, and Star Wars all have great stories. Especially Halo since I grew up with it had a great story, but now since Infinite I have been bored of it and even the story feels like it's too much and too unrealistic. I was a little late to Horizon, but I played through all of it just a few days ago and I can definitely say it is now on 1st favorite list. I've never been more sucked into the story of this game. I made sure I read and listened to all the messages left behind and when the whole story finally came together (when you finally found out what happened), it hits you hard. The story seems more realistic in the way we are heading in the same direction in real life. You'd think the base of this story was a little cliche'(as in a typical AI robot take over and apocalyptic scenario), but the way the game developers crafted it, it is pure gold.
Yes Subnautica is awesome!, especially Below Zero. I hope they're going make another sequel, which I believe they are last I heard. I tried Slime Rancher for a few minutes and I didn't really like it.
There's a expanation IN GAME about the whirlpool, it is on one of the datapoints!!! The brazilian youtuber Tupan Thundergod talked about it once, if I remember well it's a machinne to control something in the lake, but ran out of control
The funny thing is, I got the Shield Weaver and the Tearblaster but I never used either of them. Not because I thought they were too powerful, but because I already had outfits and weapons I liked. So I didn't even try them. I never once considered using them during the Frozen Wilds either. I just used Banuk gear.
wow i always died in frozen wilds UHNG+ using any other outfit. I used the shield during all fights. but i also never used the tearblaster; didnt even try it either.
I was obsessed with getting the Shield Weaver since Aloy was about level 3 or so, I found the bunker where it was located by accident, just randomly exploring the world, before I had any of the power cells. So I had to google how to get the armor and in what quests to get the power cells. I also had the Tearblaster but didn't manage to understand how to use it, I used Varga's improved weapons and the Banuk weapons
I still didn't manage to return to that naming cliff, every time when I'm very close to area it's simply returning me to campfire. After I finish Forbidden West, I wana go back to this in Zero Dawn
I tried to get there so hard i really thought it was restricted, was very surprised to see you actually can get up there and they even have a monologue for that!
I played ultra hard recently and omg, it was so easy??? The fire cannon from the frozen wilds is such an effective way to take down both corruptors and deathbringers lol
With HZD as a whole, what determines the difficulty is your experience, so if you played the game, and then did Ultra Hard on NG+, you not only have solid equipment from the start, but you have the experience that would trivialise encounters that would have been nail bitingly difficult to begin with. Such as... The first battle with the Eclipse, you might be like "Oh no, there's like 20 guys here, with 5 on the cliff and the others approaching me, what should I do?" But on NG+, you can be like "Alright, just put down a couple trip wires, get my bow out and do a focused headshot to take the ranged fighters out, then I can just do a triple headshot with regular arrows to kill the guy with the gatling gun." Even if you started a brand new save, you know what to expect, even if you don't remember the specific battles and know how to use the area to your advantage, pick them off, or even turn enemies against eachother while you kill whoever is left.
Horizon can't catch a break, releasing vs BOTW first, and now this game releases right along with Elden Ring. It stands on it's own as a great franchise, though, so it can handle competition. I'll be taking my sweet time with Forbidden West and whenever I'm done, Elden RIng will still be waiting right there on my PS5. If last year taught me nothing it was to take your time with each game, if you rush through games you'll have nothing to play when there's a drought in new releases.
i didnt even realize it released next to BOTW, this franchise was hit just as hard with its competition at launch as the titanfall franchise was, though at least it didnt suffer as badly as TF1-2 did

Tbh I hope we get something like the shield weave armour in hfw. Yeah I know it basically breaks the game but it's fun as fuck to use though. And if your just wanting to play on easy and explore so to speak it really helps with that.
The shield weaver armour is confirmed for HFW, but it's debuffed because it would be too powerful. As aloy is ½ year in the area just before the forbidden west times goes by and I think the powecells loose a little bit their power
@@lwda5265 it hasent been said yet but I’m pretty sure she uses the power cells from the armor to create the “Shield Glider” I saw in a review for Forbidden West that in the description of the glider it says something along the lines of “this was made with the same components as the shield weaver armor” sooo my guess is that she had to sacrifice the armor in order to make the glider.
I'm sure there will be some type of armor like that. If they bothered to put it in one game I don't see why they would take it out. Much like the AC outfits in the Ezio trilogy.
Oh, like I can remember my first play through. In new Game plus I'm level 102 and I can't remember 3 playthroughs back let alone my first. lol That said the only ones I haven't found yet are the ones you have to get out of bounds for and the naming cliff. The naming cliff is now at the top of my to do list in game.
Did...you play NG+? Because the shield weaver armor was kind of meh in NG+, particularly at higher difficulties. One hit would take it offline, leaving you completely defenseless.
Dude, ive known about it forever but i swear this is the first time ive heard anyone talk about the terrablaster in a video and its insane that other weapon videos dont mention it right away. I dodnt even know it was in the game till my second playthrough.
I like the banuk tribal mission. It was completely new to me. I accidentally discover it from a side quest. I played HZD 3 times already but going though each side quests are just refreshing.
There’s ways to get the shield weever as early as lvl 11 just gotta be cool with a little bit of exploiting and also the same can be done with purple mods you can farm them with well sort of an exploit.
here is one when the video starts, the same voice actor is from Destiny 1 & 2 Lance Riddick voices Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn, take that one all you HZD fans you got a Destiny Voice Actor in your fave game
It's best for New Game+ anyway. You play the game on a harder difficult with all the weapons & armor you previously obtained. The first playthrough is to enjoy the game so it makes sense you don't get it off the bat.
hmmm my personal guess about the "whirlpool" is that... it's... not. It looks like a bit of geo that's supposed to be a tiny island on the surface. Which you would think it'd be a fixable bug though. Maybe it's just that the devs didn't notice before release??
Shield Weaver armor - yes Tri-force - no Relics of the past - yes Whirlpool - no Skeleton couple - no The naming cliff - yes Tearblaster- yes, but never use it Premonitions - no Dev room - no Death Stranding connections - no
"By far the most powerful and useful weapon in Aloys arsenal" - The tearblaster. Good old Watch Mojo, not having a clue about the thing they are talking about. One of the least powerful and only slightly useful but far outdone by the tearblast arrows.
Nope. Tearblaster is way better and faster than the arrows. Not only do you not need to wind up the attack (draw the bow). I can completely strip a stormhawk bare of its armour, engines and electric weapons quickly with tearblaster while I triple fired tear blast arrows from a sharpshot bow twice to strip the electric cannon on a stormhawk's chest and it still didn't get stripped off. Also this vid was so infinitely way better that this crap of a vid made by GamesRadar. ruclips.net/video/T_IP2qLyWP0/видео.html
@@bravomike4734 It may fire slightly quicker but it's damage component is awful, as is it's range. Used it a few times but no, it stays in my inventory and literally every single other weapon get's picked first. I do the tutorial for the xp then never use it again. To me, every other weapon is more useful. I'm more about precision and range anyway.
@@EnigmaTimGaming Use it again and use it against a thunder jaw or a behemoth. It will literally shoot off literally any component in 1 hit. And their range may seem low but it is not to be underestimated. The lack of having to wind up your shot allows you to quick fire or dodge without worrying about losing your aiming charge and hence indirectly psychologically improves your survivability. Tearblast arrow doesn't do any physical damage either. I don't know how you can say its ripping off output is bad when it does it in 1 shot but tearblast arrows can't always do that. Also it can rip out more components in 1 hit due to having a more wider area than tearblast arrows. Just try it in ultra hard. Tearblast arrows will completely fail to rip off components in 1 or 2 hits but tearblast cannon will still do it in 1 hit.
People think the tearblaster is a weapon when it's more of a grinding tool. It's not meant to help you kill it via damage, more so by stripping it of it's defense and weapons.
Thanks for he video I had missed the quest with Brin. Now I'm trying to get to the Naming cliff but can't find the way. I keep finding invisible walls. Anyone know how to do this, or do you need a mod.
That's actually how I judge an open world game. The first chance I get, I take a dive under the water and make sure that you can actually see and swim underwater, and check out if there is anything worthwhile like hidden loot or underwater caves. I really enjoy swimming through underwater caves in games, for some reason. Just feels like so much fun.
@@ZlothZloth Oh hell no! The first one of those I played apparently was the add-on or something but it was a standalone game on PlayStation Network, so I bought it as Subnautica Sub-Zero. I was so lost on that game, I hated it. Nah, I was more partial to Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Elder Scrolls Skyrim, The Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and now definitely this game. Sure wish I had enough hotspot data to download the day one patch, but I will have to wait until next month to get my 20 gigs. I blew this one on the Dying Light 2 day- one patch and already returned that entire game. Now that game was junk!
@@jeffreylieberman1668 Oh no! Lost in what way? Were you not able to find your way back to your pod? Not sure what to do next? Not sure how to get out of that twisty cave you swam into before your oxygen runs out?
@@ZlothZloth Nope, perfectly at home swimming underwater, through caves. I played enough Tomb raider back in the day, not to mention Legacy of Cain: Soul Reaver.
You complacently omitted the fact that the naming cliff is only reachable inthe PC version of the game by using hex editors and such plus ALL the material used in your clip IS from said PC version. If i'm wrong (and i know i'm not) i want PROOF from an unhacked console version. So it is NOT a simple case of not exploring thoroughly enough...
Most gamers (streamers) of this game don't give a crap about exploration and side quests. They just do story quest and then disregard the game after. I'm the opposite.
Shield armor is not really secret, there is even a quest for it Same for the lodge weapons/tearblaster, there are quests for that ;P And I also visited rosts grave, but only because there was a collectible nearby^^
Im glad the dev listen our request and making it posibble to RIDE A FRICKIN BIRD !! DEV know how desperate we fans are , and we finally got it in Forbidden West 😅😅
Surprised you guys think the tearblaster gun makes Aloy OP, I'd say using freeze arrows, stormbringer or the ice cannon are far more powerful. Even thunderjaws die quickly to a combo of freeze arrows and hardernd arrows.
Tearblaster makes the second run of the game easy for farming components. Yes there are faster ways to kill machines but in gather key parts off machines, the tearblaster knows not equal
@@Massey2332 on a second play through do you really need to farm parts? You only need a few upgraded weapons and armours which don't need many parts, and blaze/sparklers/chill are easier to farm by shooting the parts off dead robots with 3rd arrow type from the sharpshooter bow. I actually had more problems with inventory space second time round rather than finding parts, ended up selling everything so I could fit in more blaze etc.
@@nightinghood their is a RUclips tutorial explaining how to obtain the shield weaver armor early on in the game. I will say this, it’s a bit tricky because they are certain spots were you have to jump up onto cliff side to get access to the cave entrance leading to the armor. But believe me, it’s worth the effort.
Hahaha you e missed the most important and chilling secret in HZD... Rost is alive... Ive found him sitting at athe top of the mountain... but when you approach him, he will disappear.... he can be shown from a certain angle and distance...
I forgot what game it is but there is this one game that if you access the Dev Room then you're pretty much banned. The developer's of that game really didn't want player's in the Dev Room and so the Ban Hammer was brought out. A way to access that Dev Room without getting banned was eventually made though.
Dawn had a significantly better main story and solid gameplay, 2 had great gameplay and world building but 1 of the main story lines was just way too dumb, it's a fun as hell game and the split main plot was awesome but I really hated the "human plot"

Congratulations D you made it!
Salud hermano, WE made it brother!
Cheers 🏹✨🌪️🍻
Oh, like I can remember my first play through. In new Game plus I'm level 102 and I can't remember 3 playthroughs back let alone my first. lol
That said the only ones I haven't found yet are the ones you have to get out of bounds for and the naming cliff.
I hope Aloy will be Okay in the Forbidden West, I don't want her to do it's just getting good and she is only 19 or 18, that would suck.
HFW is going to be the game of the month.
That or maybe Elden Ring
Nice! The RUclips channel Bright also made a cool making of Guerrilla about how this game came about.
There’s ways to get the shield weever as early as lvl 11 just gotta be cool with a little bit of exploiting and also the same can be done with purple mods you can farm them with well sort of an exploit.
why 11?
@@FireHam because you have to beat some missions to get to the exploit
here is one when the video starts, the same voice actor is from Destiny 1 & 2 Lance Riddick voices Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn, take that one all you HZD fans you got a Destiny Voice Actor in your fave game
1:00 lol those who know would tell you you can get the armor way before coming close to the end of the game. I had it maybe halfway through 🤫🤫
It's best for New Game+ anyway. You play the game on a harder difficult with all the weapons & armor you previously obtained. The first playthrough is to enjoy the game so it makes sense you don't get it off the bat.
"gamers may have forgotten about the shield weaver armour"
Dangit- i did! I forgot.
Definitely doing that in my next playthrough if I do it again.
hmmm my personal guess about the "whirlpool" is that... it's... not. It looks like a bit of geo that's supposed to be a tiny island on the surface. Which you would think it'd be a fixable bug though. Maybe it's just that the devs didn't notice before release??
Maybe they were going to make an island or island like area in the map, probably had to cut it due to time constraints, but it’s a cool idea.
@@dylanrankin-df7ku yeah hard to guess what the devs were planning.
7:15 the terablaster is very op tbh but it's worth the time it took
i think not including the metal devil as a boss fight was the dumbest thing they didn't include in forbidden west.
🫣
Hold up, if you have HFW in PS5, you'll get this one wish fulfilled with the new dlc, hopefully.
@@RurouniSanj yeah ill believe that when i see it.
Greetings from Spain everyone!
Thank you MojoPlays for featuring all of these amazing discoveries and secrets.
Cheers :D🏹✨🍻
Wow. I completely missed some of this. Like Brin
Shield Weaver armor - yes
Tri-force - no
Relics of the past - yes
Whirlpool - no
Skeleton couple - no
The naming cliff - yes
Tearblaster- yes, but never use it
Premonitions - no
Dev room - no
Death Stranding connections - no
wait.. Brin? I did two 100% play throughs of that game and ever did a quest to collect fluids once.
Triple stack tearblast arrows will forever be better imo.
Played through the gam three times, never found this brin person.
He's in a very out of the way spot, I don't remember how but I do remember his place was under attack at the time I found it.
Thanks for he video I had missed the quest with Brin. Now I'm trying to get to the Naming cliff but can't find the way. I keep finding invisible walls. Anyone know how to do this, or do you need a mod.
Are you serious? This whole time?! THE WHOLE TIME! Those were zelda references… and I thought it was just coincidence…. Smh that’s so cool
I finished Horizon less than a month ago and the Naming Cliff and Brim side quest were totally missed out by me... Will check them out tonight
please tell what is the "Brim"?
Hearing Rost's story was one of my favourite moments.
Oh,not discussed or not found ?
That's actually how I judge an open world game. The first chance I get, I take a dive under the water and make sure that you can actually see and swim underwater, and check out if there is anything worthwhile like hidden loot or underwater caves. I really enjoy swimming through underwater caves in games, for some reason. Just feels like so much fun.
Subnautica must be your favorite series!
I'm sure you loved the caves in Forbidden West then.
There was quite a bit I didn't know you should do a second part
You complacently omitted the fact that the naming cliff is only reachable inthe PC version of the game by using hex editors and such plus ALL the material used in your clip IS from said PC version. If i'm wrong (and i know i'm not) i want PROOF from an unhacked console version. So it is NOT a simple case of not exploring thoroughly enough...
Sadly the naming cliff ha been sealed off for a few years now
What? Why! I was just about to try it, I thought it was just a regular location.
4:34 this must be a call to Bermuda Triangle or something similar
I REALLY miss the Shield weaver armor in forbidden west
Ha. the stranded items. I never played the game but it makes so much sense now. Gah. i can't wait til Forbiden West releases on PC.
i played Horizon West it was great and this is badass better then tomb raider thank you for getting me through a hard time in this game.
Most gamers (streamers) of this game don't give a crap about exploration and side quests. They just do story quest and then disregard the game after.
I'm the opposite.
It's connected to death stranding, which is connected by some missions to cyberpunk.. which is connected to The Witcher.
Sylens accuses Aloy of being too emotional. Meanwhile, he's getting bent out of shape over her comments LOL.
That's no triforce, those are cauldron symbols.
That area shown in 0:17-0:19. Where is it?
you can find shield weaver on map :D
Shield armor is not really secret, there is even a quest for it
Same for the lodge weapons/tearblaster, there are quests for that ;P
And I also visited rosts grave, but only because there was a collectible nearby^^
is Nil talking in this video?
🤣
I did a double take when I saw Commander Zavala here. Rest in peace, Lance Reddick.
Eh… you can revisit the place where you were named. Idk why you made it look difficult, i got up there no prob 😅🤣
Location??? I'm trying to explore more on map before doing the quest
Im glad the dev listen our request and making it posibble to RIDE A FRICKIN BIRD !!
DEV know how desperate we fans are , and we finally got it in Forbidden West 😅😅
You cannot go to the naming cliff without PC mods.
I was so mad when starting HFW without my armor from the first one.
I knew it, I knew that was a nod to Zelda
If you wear a Carja outfit and talk to Carja NPCs at Meridian....they will compliment your looks in various ways🤫
Awesome And really good very epic game so far
Why is this game suddenly gaining more popularity???
I really appreciate how you sound like a frustrated and bored news anchor
The shieldweaver armor SUCKS on ng+ and ultra hard.
Best is Nora Defender with melee defense upgrades in fights.
aloy with tearblaster and shield weaver: /gamemode creative
I got the shield weaver armor early on in the game 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh and how did you do that?
@@nightinghood their is a RUclips tutorial explaining how to obtain the shield weaver armor early on in the game. I will say this, it’s a bit tricky because they are certain spots were you have to jump up onto cliff side to get access to the cave entrance leading to the armor. But believe me, it’s worth the effort.
@@elitepro102 oh no I know but I for some reason jumped to conclusions and thought you cheated lmao sorry
With over 500h on hzd with only one difficulty left to beat
I want Sylens to say "But Aloy , I'm a material girl"
the forbiden west is already used in game and story quest aside from brin
Apparently Zelda invented triangles…
lol just found the baby in almother ruins i was like this seems so not this game now i know where it is from
I’d like to point out that horizon zero died did not come out anywhere near breath of the wild
Hahaha you e missed the most important and chilling secret in HZD... Rost is alive... Ive found him sitting at athe top of the mountain... but when you approach him, he will disappear.... he can be shown from a certain angle and distance...
0:18 where is that
Outside the map ruclips.net/video/ZKMOiOLDAw0/видео.html
Out of map I thinn
I never knew about the naming cliff where do I start to climb up
You can only do it on PC.
You can only do it on PC.
What a bummer, I was about to boot up the game to search for it and get up there :/
i got the shield weaver armor at level 12
Nice video- but it "fair-of" not "Far-oh"
I forgot what game it is but there is this one game that if you access the Dev Room then you're pretty much banned.
The developer's of that game really didn't want player's in the Dev Room and so the Ban Hammer was brought out.
A way to access that Dev Room without getting banned was eventually made though.
you almost sounded like NIL
Why does the narrator sound like he hates his job?
Where is the naming Cliff?
Maybe not start with a spoiler eh?
Huh? What spoiler? I find it remarkable to complain about that in a video that reveals secrets of a game. I'd be surprised if there weren't spoilers.
0:17 Where is that?
It's in the ruins right outside the starting area, a little bit to the north.
Outside the main map. It was the original test ground for the game as a whole
ruclips.net/video/ZKMOiOLDAw0/видео.html
Dawn had a significantly better main story and solid gameplay, 2 had great gameplay and world building but 1 of the main story lines was just way too dumb, it's a fun as hell game and the split main plot was awesome but I really hated the "human plot"
