There's something soul crushing about a game that's not inherently bad and after putting in 50 hours I realize something is off and I'm just not enjoying myself. then I go on several hours trying to muster some patience or find excuses to keep the story going until I realize this shit is just not worth my time anymore. You've seen all the activities repeated 500 times and going into a new village, seeing all the green explanation marks and thinking about another bunch of weirdos dumping 10 mins of dialogue on me while I'm trying to save the world, was what finally made me move on to another game..

For reference: I've played HZD four times. Four times! It was the story that grabbed and kept my attention- and the world was excellent. Aloy wasn't an annoying girl boss. The game is not perfect, but it was enough that I played it four times, and an occasion when the craving hits.
Forbidden West is a different story. I should love the game and its world, but I cannot. I have no idea what happened to Aloy, especially when she told Varl to shave. What was that? And the gameplay mechanics. I forced myself to beat the game and never played it again.
But I still find myself playing HZD.

It's not the same experience, it's worse. Writing sucks. There were side quests where my jaw dropped because of how poorly or nonsensically they were written. Combat is worse, machines are more aggressive to the point you can't even do a proper combo. They made machines faster but Aloy is still as slow with spear as in the first game. Even at story difficulty it's annoying. I don't even know why I'm playing it still, I guess after so many hours I want to see the end... The game is more a chore than anything else.

She’s at first insensitive to Beta, not understanding how a clone of sobeck can be so “weak” before accepting beta. A rejection of how Aloy originally wanted to be 1:1 of Sobeck. The final scene of the game is Aloy choosing to save Earth instead of running away and finding a solution from a distance, again demonstrating how she starts to diverge from being 1:1 with sobeck. These r jus few examples of the numerous nuances that very obviously portray her character development. If u somehow disagree with facts still then the game jus isn’t for u lmao

I enjoyed HFW, but totally agree it's story left a lot to be desired. Where as Zero Dawn's story continously pulled the player in with intrigue and mystery reinforced through the carefully crafted world, Forbidden Wests story felt like the writers constantly went "heh, why not?" How did the Zeniths achieve immortality? Doesnt matter, they just did. Why would the Zeniths upload their consciousness into an AI when they were already immortal? Who cares, they just did. The Zenith plot line felt like it tetterred on the magical, completely expecting the player to just follow along with the outlandish abilities they possess because "advanced tech". Nothing felt grounded in any semblance of reality.

The amount of stupid plot holes introduced with the rushed trash that is “nemesis” completely ruins this games narrative. And the reliance on a rogue Hephaestus to save the world is so dumb bcuz it couldve just slipped straight back into the cauldrons without helping them at all and why beta needed to “input” Hephaestus, by itself, into the printer in the first place was dumb as hell, hephaestus had already been tamed by gaia so theres no reason why beta couldnt have just connected a gaia controlled Hephaestus into the same printer and accomplished the same task. The zero communication and secretive final plan to take out the specters was beyond stupid, there was no reason for aloy to keep her plan to SAVE THE WORLD a secret from the people that were trying to help her save it just bcuz “this is between sisters”. Having tilda kill gerard was the most unsatisfying and stupid thing they couldve done with him although they did make the zeniths extremely boring and one dimensional villains so what does it really matter. This game shouldve ended with the far zeniths being defeated(NO NEMESIS) and that shouldve been the end of the story and series instead they decided to milk it into a third installment and give us faro plague 2.0 zenith edition unbelievably horrible writing and completely disrespectful to the greatness that was the first game and forbidden west up until this shit show of an ending

You’re missing the point. In the first game Aloy was still new to all this, hadn’t seen as much of the world, had been socially isolated all her life and it was her first time trying to save everybody. Now imagine that you go through a great struggle facing near death and impossible odds to save the world, then find out that it isn’t over, and you’re still the only one who can fix it. Then add onto that that everyone around you is constantly trying to get favors from you because they know who you are now, and the people you do care about refuse to not be involved, even though you know they’re in way over their heads and could likely die. In this game she literally has a time limit on the world expiring, little knowledge on what to do, and everyone is constantly distracting her - would that not test your patience towards people too? Everybody around her is asking her to deal with their localized problems, while she is trying to SAVE THE PLANET ON A TICKING CLOCK against even more impossible odds than before. Think about that. On top of all that, did you actually pay attention? In FW she undergoes a great deal of growth and by the end of the game she appreciates all her friends and admits to being stubborn and arrogant. The whole point of this game was for her character to come full circle, I guess you missed just about all of the nuance.

She was willing to accept any help she could get as well as do random quests/tasks/favors for other people just to help them or get something in return knowing damn well what Hades was up to yet she rarely lashed at anyone like she does to almost everyone in this one.
Only a few months passed between HZD and HFW and she's practically walked out on all her friends to take on insurmountable odds by herself even when people offered to help her, and she shows zero weaknesses or vulnerabilities this time around. She gets saved like one time by Zoe's tribe and that's about it.
All I'm saying is she was more upbeat and kind to people in the first game which made players like her more knowing she can still keep a cool head even under tough stress, but in HFW she's extremely dismissive and exhaling her breath in a negative nagging way after every sentence like she's fed up. I've had girlfriends who acted that way and it makes you not want to be around them.

I was completely absorbed in the adventure of Zero Dawn. It was the first video game that really sucked me in, in ages. I was skeptical at first, because I'm not big into the fantasy genre (I thought it was just another Skyrim or Zelda type game) but it became one of my all time favorite games. As soon as I beat it, I just HAD to get Forbidden West. I thought "damn, it's probably gonna be twice as good". Unfortunately that was not the case. The gameplay in FW is vastly superior and more refined with many more moves, especially in melee.
If you build up you character (which you have to do) you can be very strong indeed.

Shredder gauntlets are especially good too since if you catch the shredder after it hits the enemy and returns to you, no ammo is spent. Do this three times and on the fourth throw it causes a huge explosion that does a ton of damage and applies an elemental state to the enemy

The first was one of my favorite games of the last generation. I thought it did an excellent job with the mystery of it all and it was fun to uncover. The gameplay, though not perfect, was pretty fun.
The second one starts off weak. They take the character that learned all about the importance of teamwork and striving together toward a common goal and made her into "only I can do it and I have to do it alone." It was so jarring and dumb. If she dies, the world is screwed because she is the only one who can do it. Why on earth would she risk going alone?! She eventually started getting over it, but it was awful. Not to mention she is so dramatic 95 percent of the time. I get the world is ending and it is dire, but sheesh.
Also, they seemed to have lost all ability to string along a mystery. They introduce something mysterious, then explain it in dialogue two seconds later. Maybe that gets better later.
It just seems like they had a message they wanted to convey and shoehorned it in instead of creating a believable, cohesive story.
I'll go back and finish it someday, and maybe it will win me over, but it was quite disappointing in many regards.

The first game really popped off with a cause and effect riding two storylines perfect 1000 years apart… this one doesn’t even seem to care about how the world would react to insane events occurring just six months ago. It doesn’t really seem like a sequel, nor does the story give any closure for… any of what you do.
The biggest difference- motivation. None of the characters in this game have any motivation for what they’re doing. Nothing emotionally compelling. Not even the tribes are motivated in why the are what they are, they just do stuff so there can be a plot. I actually wouldn’t have minded a zenith or two being introduced as a strange background character, but the ones we got had no motivation to be as murderous as they were it just made no sense at all.

    • @GameslordXY
      @GameslordXY 2 года назад +4

Perhaps you are just without emphaty and so unable to understand people's motivations.
      Game doesn't offer any closure?
      Why is that so important?
      I mean,having closure is nice,but sometimes it's unnecessary.
Like when so many new possibilities are opened up.
Either for the expansion within a year or so or for a proper sequel few years from now.
      Or both.
      Tribes aren't motivated?
      That's partly true.
If you had emphaty, you would understand.
Those events 6 months ago didn't happen beyond Nora and Carja lands.
It would be illogical that there is any significant reaction beyond the limits of Carja and Nora lands.
Frozen Wilds was in Banuk territory.
Didn't spread beyond it and main game(Zero Dawn) events, didn't spread to Banuk lands.
So again,it would make next to no sense.
As for Zeniths I agree their story wasn't super amazing.
      Especially compared to first game.
      The immortals?
Not sure Horizon lore needs it,but whatever.
As for no motivation for being so murderous?
They were psychopaths or just exceptionally cruel.
      They don't need much motivation.
At least not anything super obvious.
      Such people DO exist.
So I disagree with no sense at all part.

First of all: please don’t get discouraged by the fanboys who can’t fathom that someone has a negative opinion of their favorite game.
I have to say I agree with you: before Aloy was way more relaxed in the first one. On this one she is constant in a hurry and wants to brush through the story herself. The main storyline wants to build artificial tension with the “we only have a view month”, but since it’s constant for the main story, I just didn’t care at one point anymore because Aloy would say this all the time. As a player it’s also hard to believe since you know, you have all the time in the world.
Regarding the story: Tilda is a groomer. I can’t say it any other way. She had Beta as a child and with the invitations to the secret data channel tried to groom her to be her partner and more like Elisabeth. When she found Aloy, she dropped Beta and wanted to peruse her.
Also the companion system was….. meh. You never see companions interact with each other (shouting into another conversation doesn’t count) and if you go on a mission it’s basically “go there and kill this”. I’m currently playing Mass Effect 2 and though it has its issues, the companion quests are fun to play. Forbidden West however well I never got that same feeling besides when you explore the bunker in San Francisco (my favorite story missions in that game). The first game at the beginning can and is relatable to an extent, after a while she (Alloy) stops being an underdog and instead the biggest plot point/most important person in the entire world, with is fine given the context of the game and the lore they set up with works enough, with also focused on a good amount of gameplay and fun, then you also had the character development and the fact every mystery in the game is pretty much solved by the end too only leaving a few mysteries for a sequel, DLC's just feel like a warning to what's to come with Forbidden west.
The second game, quite literally, starts off with setting Alloy's character back an arc, meaning Alloy at the end of the first game learns to ask for help to everyone, second game, she as to learn to do that again or learn who she is again! Plus, she feels like a cardboard as a character entirely because she barely as any conflict........... Then it's the fact that the story goes.......spacial let's say, like....the story is bland, predictable, stupid and generic, it's just a ruined story that absolutely shits and sets on fire the decent story the first game had.
Gameplay wise, it is still fun to an extent (same as the first game mostly) and then we have the huge open world map....that is either empty or simply empty landscapes with sometimes "animals" on the background and the rest you'd have to go to specific places to see a more lively place, now don't get me wrong, i love a good landscape, but i prefer a landscape that is not only with signs that it's lived in or that it as a very long story behind it, than empty landscapes, the first game almost got this right, the second one? nope, it's the ubisoft formula that's become tiring af.
Overall, Forbidden West ticks all the check marks for a good game, but that's it, it just ticks all the check marks....it doesn't make them right, in fact it butchers a huge majority of them, the entire game is a shit show, it's a mess of a game, a cash grab pretty much, i feel sorry for the devs, because you can tell they have talent, they put in a lot of work and dedication to these games, but it's going on the wrong spots, i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't know what to do with this game (Because the first game had so much time just scrapping scripts for years till we got the story we got) and keep trying to do something to elevate the game, but just ruins it more.

Dear author - you are NOT the only one to feel that. I've watched your video, because after completing the main story, having 102 hours behind - I feel disappointed. I feel sad. Because being honest: I didn't enjoy it much as I wanted or expected initially.
My best comparison is that I wanted a big triple-A movie, blockbuster and I've got a mediocre tv-series like Lost in Space.
Skipping game mechanics issues (like more complex and idiotic crafting), leveling, etc. Story... It doesn't touch. I was bored in the beginning, then a bit excited, again bored, again a little bit excited and etc. But in the end - no, it was NOT fun. There was no joy, no thrilling feel of adventure, of discovery, of a mystery beyond the corner - nothing. Just loong, for fuck sake looooong dialogs. They looked awesome. But were fucking empty. 40 minutes (I checked) of dialogues before the final battle. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
Far zenith was ok with me. Fine, kinda aliens that were alive - it's ok. What matters is how to deliver information. How to provide it. How to build suspense. We forgot how wonderful Zero Dawn was. When piece by piece we build the picture of how the world ends. Sadness, sorrow, pain. People sacrifice their lives before the end. And each piece of info was important by itself. But then, the next one made it deeper. More meaningful.
Was it Forbidden West? HELL NO! Talk, talks, talk. And Alloy just became some narcissi girl, that behaves absolutely fucking out of logic. She pushes away her friends while helping freaking every other stranger she meets on the road. WATTA HELL IS THIS?
Being honest, I've enjoyed AC Valhalla more than Horizon... And that's what's sad. This is supposed to be a great Sony Exclusive. In the end, it's like a signal of the end of the era.

As much as I like that we did get answers for some of the loose ends last game. Bu I hate how unlikeable Aloy is. It’s clear they rewrote her with modern feminism in mind. They go over the top with Ted Faro being a douce because men bad. Elizabet Sobek is suddenly lesbian despite her previous characterization as being not interested in romance at all because she was so busy. Aloy is incredibly rude and condescending to the men. Aloy is shown to be right and flawless about everything ever. The men are evil, incompetent, or lazy and can’t do anything without Aloy. They made Aloy a Mary Sue. The Teknath are the Native/minority shoehorns that are said to be bloodthirsty barbarians and we even hear stories of their atrocities from an early NPC and how he had to fight for his freedom, only to find their leader isn’t a violent person. What? They also shoehorn in California because everything is great in California (laughs in droughts and failing electric grid). Then Tilda turns on you because aloy can be her Elizabet 2.0 and have their lesbian thing again. No, just no.
I didn’t mind the space people thing, it should have been their descendants, not immortal elites. Descendants who felt earth was their birthright and came back to claim it. I don’t mind the incoming nemesis either. It would have been better if Nemesis was the same thing trying to eat their descendants. As for Beta, I think she was alright. Had this been about descendants then her story would make more sense. Then she could be Sobeck’s descendant and still have the DNA needed.
To make a comparison this is wonder woman 1984. They had the exact same problems.

All I hoped for from FW:
Aloy, after being identified as humanity's last hope of restoring GIA and hailed as a demi-god by all in the east, reluctantly accepts that she's now too valuable to risk her life, and seeks the protection of the sun king, where she's made the leader of his military. We get to control a new character for a tutorial while Aloy attempts to adjust to her new position, commanding troops instead of leading the charge, while her relationship with the king begins to develop. The western tribes learn of this alliance, increasing their distrust of the sun king and their already turbulent relationship and instead of co-operating, they decide to take the initiative and invade Meridian with the use of their harnessed machines, taking Aloy hostage in the process. The sun king is killed, and the brief piece that the various tribes were enjoying under his rule is destabilised, plunging them into chaos once again. Aloy, now in the Forbidden West, is in a race against time to either escape her captures, or win over their trust, before the blight or the tribes destroy what little remains.
    What I got:
    Captain Marvels origin story

I just arrived at chainsmoke and man I feel like I may have to uninstall it. This is about an hour into the game and I feel everything you mentioned in this video. Bored, overwhelmed, underwhelmed, and I don't care about Aloy. She went from a caring, spunky, wild child who enjoyed the people she met along the way of the first game, to a joyless, cynical jerk who now treats all of her "friends" like they are below her. She keeps saying how much she hates being "the savior" but lords it over them every chance she gets because her mission is very important and only she can stop it. Ugh very very very poor sequel. I will let it sit for a bit and if I'm feeling better with more energy I might enjoy it, but as of right now it's back on the shelf. What a shame, guerrilla.

The first area of the game is the least bloated part, because it's pretty linear with a few branching paths. By the time I got to the second area, I was immediately fatigued. There was too much shit everywhere, everything felt like a chore, including walking around the world, and I just wanted to rush to the next story part, which also bored me all the way through the end. I don't know what went wrong. Once the mystery of the world was revealed at the end of Zero Dawn, it's like the story just didn't have any juice left to have anything interesting to tell. It felt very generic. Also, Aloy only gets marginally better in the last part of the game, but not enough to be a good character. She's just so bland or frustrating to listen to the entire game.

The gameplay improved in some ways because there are new weapons and mechanics but nothing that makes it feel fresh necessarily. But overall I found that the new machines were just more annoying to deal with than in Zero Dawn. It also doesn’t help that Sylens, who was a driving factor for the lore in Zero Dawn, was rewritten as this weirdo who was constantly the butt of every snarky remark any of the theatre kids main characters made. The only new character I enjoyed was Regalla and she was literally killed off whilst Aloy was staring at her doing nothing, and then afterwards Aloy just shrugged off her death like it wasn’t a big deal. The whole Zenith storyline felt so weird, it didn’t fit into the rest of the world and after their first introduction the game just felt weird

Didn’t write in a single average decent guy in the entire thing. That doesn’t mean I have any problem with women or strong women characters or the general amount of strong women characters. I find myself thinking constantly: "This game was made as someone's PHD research on the Stockholm syndrome."
This video made me realize what has been bothering me about the game: It is not satisfying to the core. Their is nothing to fully immerse and suck me into the story of this world, the combat has been made more tedious and frustrating and exploring the world is unexciting due to a lack of polish. But I keep coming back, hoping to find the same joy the first game gave me.
I played it now 200 hours, but it seems only out of pure spite to get back at the machines that kept frustrating me with their unfair nonsense when I was learning the changes made to the combat. And the last 2 days I have spent just powering through the story simply to have all the tools to kill machines more effectively, not out of interest for the story. Exploring the same - just powering through the tedium, finding my own weird challenges to amuse me, while I try to get as OP as possible to bring my enemies the reckoning I crave.

Story wise and even some of the fights I don't mind, its actually pretty good.
But the tedious grind you have to do to level up your weapons, armor, inventory is annoying because it slows this game to a crawl.
And its tedious because you have to defeat machines that carry parts for your armor upgrade a certain way, to get the item, and sometimes its not given on the first or 2nd kill. Grind.

I find it really odd how the characters speak to each other - they sound like modern people from the 21st century instead of stone age people from thousands of years ago. There is so much technobabble being thrown around and these stone age people are able to make sense of it all?
The technological advancement of a civilization directly corelates with how much complex ideas can be expressed via its language. Folks from the stone age would not be able to understand modern concepts even if you could translate it perfectly to them.
It would've been far better if Aloy and Co are interpreting all of advanced technological stuff as divine messages from some deity. But Aloy seems to understand everything perfectly and able to explain it to her peers who are also able to grasp it. 🤔

    • @gameskyjumper1721
      @gameskyjumper1721 2 года назад +1

Yes there is a perfect explanation. You see, these people didn't create their own language. They were taught. They all speaks English. Why? Because that's part Project Zero Dawn, Elisabet Sobeck's plan. So in the backstory, GAIA was this super computer that will re-install life on Earth after the Faro Plague has ended. One of GAIA's subordinate function, namely Apollo, is to educate the new human race with all the collected data and human history. During the last moments of Ted Faro's life, he murdered all remaining humans (Alphas) who's in the hideout and want to wipe all trace of his sin. Then he thought about how future people will learn about his "works" so he delivery sabotaged Apollo. The remaining Apollo was only able to teach the kids human language for communication (English) and kindergarten-level education. So when the first human got bored trapped in the base for who know how long they got out and venture into the wilds themselves. That's when the human race split up and form different factions and tribes. They each may have their own rule and writings, but their understanding to the world is far better than the actual cavemen before us. Some of them even founds focus and use them just as Aloy did.
Also if you played Frozen Wild DLC you would see yes like you mentioned many of the people still see machines as Gods and holograms as spirits. She was often shown frustrated by it but was unable to fully convince them that that's not the case.

I thought the story was fine as a whole, starts incredibly boring but gets better after the first Cauldron mission and almost every mission after that is entertaining in a way. The biggest problem is that it didn’t deviate enough of the typical “wheel of choices” to get the same-ish response of the stuff and it was just two people randomly talking to each other (at least it wasn’t as stiff and static as HZD but still just not interesting). The game also fails on characterizing Aloy (she was honestly very unlikable at the first 5 hours or so of the game) and almost every single secondary character are a thousand times better and more interesting (Erend, Sylens and Kotallo especially).
Gameplay wise is a bit weird for me: the human to human combat is better, the final boss isn’t a previous enemy just reused with a color swap, traversing the map is fun and way more enemy variety spice the game up.
At the same time the game feels over bloated and it feels excessively grindy (like seriously, you move two feet and get to see a thousand fucking animals you can kill all with their different items and RNG in items), you have to constantly go travel back and forth between the campfires in order to fight against a machine you specifically want to upgrade your suit, your weapons or for some odd reason the overrides. The game also has way to many versions of the weapon just with variety in stats making the game feel overwhelming with rather unnecessary fodder. Overall the game is just… ok for me I guess mix it has really good moment and the game does improve some areas from the first but it also downgrades a lot of the stuff from the first game for no real reason (why are the ropecasters so shit now, why does Aloy take a year to recover after several attacks, why are the STRONG weapons so fucking weak and why does Aloy take a full year to pick them up)

As a little bonus, The Quen (Alva’s tribe) wasn’t actually from the Forbidden West. They were a group that came from another island completely. The reason they were in the Forbidden West was because they were looking for information of the Old Ones on how to reopen there water supply and food supply (something like that) since they were running short. There believes were also completely wrong about the Old Ones since they thought most of them were borderlines hero. So Aloy walking in the West like you mentioned wouldn’t have really mattered since the second game from what I believe didn’t detail us on how long they were doing there thing in the FW.

One area of this game I really don't hear talked about much by anyone is when you need parts for your upgrades and its fishing primarily. How many times do you get close to the fish you need and "Pop!" the fish just vanishes. This seems to be such an annoying bug that has never been addressed. You find things taking so much longer, not just due to the randomization of whether you are going to get the item or not when you do catch a fish. It is also whether the dam fish is just going to vanish before you can even capture it.

In response to 29:00's argument of needing more nuanced weapon systems rather than just a few extra buttons to "blow stuff up"... there had been a collaboration with HZD and Monster hunter World: Iceborne. Monster hunter has the exact fighting innovations that Box Fort Barbarian mentioned, so it was not as if the team didn't have an example to go off of for immersive combat.
What's even better is the fact that the HFW (Forbidden West, yes it's weird to type out) team was criticizing Elden Ring for its lack of constant hand holding, even going as far as to call it a horrible game.
I will give them credit where credit is due though, the Sunhawk flying is a gorgeous addition that brought me to tears with its visuals and the implication of what you can do with such a flight system. @@odious5317 Don't get me wrong; Sony has made some great PlayStation exclusives over the years. God of War, Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits are all very fun games, but they still have underlying problems that hint at where Sony's true priorities lie. God of War's combat was fun and brutal, but the "platforming" segments in that game were triggered by button prompts and almost completely pointless. The web-swinging in Spider-Man was fantastic, but that game was unfortunately dragged down by puzzles and forced stealth and walking sections playing as Mary Jane or Miles Morales. While Kena: Bridge of Spirits has gorgeous art and graphics, it has very basic combat and platforming that barely does anything new or innovative.
Ghost of Tsushima, while a beautiful game, is just another cookie-cutter open-world game when looking at the bigger picture. And Horizon: Forbidden West looks to be continuing that trend... Other exclusives like The Order: 1886, Death Stranding, and The Last of Us Parts I and II are essentially interactive movies as opposed to video games.
As for the other games, credit where credit is due, Returnal looks like an extremely fun and addictive rogue-like game, but that game still had many bugs and technical issues when it launched. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a shadow of what the franchise used to be. Ratchet & Clank used to have somewhat dark and mature humor, but both that and the combat feel dumbed down to appeal more to kids. There is also the fact that the game costs $70 and takes only about 6 to 10 hours to complete with no additional content, which is laughable. My point is Sony seems to be prioritizing pretty graphics in order to sell their products while doing the bare minimum in terms of gameplay. I'm hoping God of War: Ragnarok will change my mind, but I'm also prepared for more of the same from the original God of War back in 2018.

@@lorenzopiscosi9566 They could have explained that traveling in space at high speed slows time so it wasn't 1000 year for them but, this games was so dumbed down they didn't bother to try.

    1. Way too many side quests, and they are not rewarding, and they are not good stories.
    2. There aren't too many puzzles, but almost each and every one of them is bad. It's just scanning games, if you miss one, you get stuck.
    3. A lot of the plot (both main and side quests) doesn't make any sense. A lot of the reasoning seems to be a reach. It's both irritating and laughable, I guess we can call it bad writing.
    4. Too many weapon types and while you could use them and have some fun. But at the end of the day, only hunter bows, warrior bows and sharpshooter bows matter. Whatever other weapon types do, bows just do it better, maybe with the exception of Elite Ropecaster.
I don't like HZD's story either, nothing makes sense, story is too childish. But at least I enjoyed the combat and nothing seems to be a chore. HFW is the exact opposite. Enemies are even tankier, combat is even longer, and I'm always either doing a chore or on the way to the next.

One thing I think takes away from the game is the story doesn't fit with the map size. Also they introduced so many new mechanics that weren't really needed example the Valors and the specials attached to weapons. I found they weren't easy to get into when you're in active battle. Plus by the time I reached certain story points I was already over leveled anyways. I dunno I still have to beat the ending and I'm having a hard time getting back into the game since I stopped to play elden ring.

I'm playing elden ring too. I don't even think of going back to this game. It was repetitive as hell and uninteresting story/characters

They had to ground the story to some kind of reality. We can all understand the rich evil white guy based on experience.
