    Awesome setup! On a full size 4x4 crawler that would be called a suck down winch.

      Thanks dude! Simple solution to a common problem. Only thing I’d do differently would be to mount it lower and have the servo pull to parallel vs pull to perpendicular to the force but it works awesome!

      @@jimbo4203
      It’s lighter than the JLU body. I can get an actual measurement. It was just meant to be as simple and small as possible to cover the esc and battery in the stock position and look kinda cool. It’s super durable! The buggy is pretty heavy and I push it pretty hard. It cracked once in the roof. Clean split. I glued it back together with the same glue I assembled it with. It’s definitely banged up but I can hit it with a little sand paper and oil it back up and should be looking fairly sharp again, enough for a rock buggy, anyway. I’ll do a video coming up and make a new body and hope fully find a way to make the parts available for anyone that would want them.

    Being a total newb, I've been binging folks videos and hadn't seen yours before seeing you mentioned over on Sinisters YT channel. Funny enough, this exact devise pooped into my head without seeing yours. I hadn't finished it out in my head, but now don't have to! LOL!
    Only thing else I considered was a way to do it so the front sucks down, but the back raises up to full height. My thinking is this would give you the lowness for the front but keep the back up for clearance but also tip the body weight even more forward by propping up the back.
    Having said that, I just started watching your vid's so that may be something you also have tried already! Ha ha.
    Thanks!!!

    RL 1/1 they do this all the time with the front winch wrapped around the front axle “adjustable limiting straps lol” liked the video, always nice to see innovation😍 Expiowa is just teaching the basic’s, I got to 61 degrees without lifting a tire from watching his videos.

    • @texomarc
      @texomarc  2 года назад

      Thanks! Super easy and still works great. If you end up doing it and have the space, the servo needs to pull to parallel the string it’s pulling rather than to perpendicular, as I have mine. If it was parallel, it could be run either way without too much strain on the servo.

    This could also be fixed with limit strap. Lets say u take some fishing line from wheel on each axle , and loop it around some place center on chassis . Ofc center point must allow the line to move. That way u limit your hight, but still allow for shock ekstension. But damn i love the small motor adjusting ridehight ... freaking awsome!!

    • @texomarc
      @texomarc  2 года назад +3

      EENIG
      Thank you so much for the comment!
      “This could also be fixed with a limiting strap.”
      Yes and no. By limiting the down stroke, clearance is lost. The buggy rides pretty much slammed with the shocks at about 90% sag using my little spring trick, which allows the wheels to drop out over humps and ledges when the belly gets hung up.
      A limiting strap would help a flexy car climb and most times side hill better but it doesn’t actually “fix” the problem because there’s more than one problem being overcome. Limiting straps would still be a compromise, although it does help performance in certain areas.
      If I limited the suspension to where it is when I press the button, fully slammed with no drop at the diffs, it wouldn’t actually be near as capable because it would always be hung up. It does climb like a monster, though!
      Also, realize that I’m running two JLU rear end four links. It’s pretty long. The buggy is only about 1/4-3/8” shorter than the gladiator, running smallish tires.
      It all depends on what you want your car to do, over what terrain and what makes it fun for you! Most of the time it’s a compromise but with a little creativity, it doesn’t always have to be. Hope you have a great day!
