Holy Smokes! You tackled this problem brilliantly. I had just begun to start giving some thought to a skid slider for the front diff but I hadn't even actually started any work on it. You went completely next level man you carried it all the way through you develop the concept perfectly. Game changer. You are the man Josh.
Thanks Jim! Like you, I’ve thought about it a little but never addressed the problem. Buddy in the comments, Travis, showed he made a front skid from scale diamond plate the other day and when my chassis never showed up, it was the last straw! Lol. I’ll have to get some of that scale diamond plate ordered and see how it does. Could be cool. I wanted to just make it out of lexan but didn’t have anything that would work at the house. Thanks for hangin out brother and I hope you have a great day!!!
Thanks dude! I laughed when I saw your video was addressing the steering link and front dif hang ups. Thanks for hangin out, Ken! Hope you have a great day, brother!
@@SivartCustomRCs That stuff looks great. The point of the slider is to slide. Lol. Do you think the little diamonds would hang up? Also, how tough is the finish? It’s going to get beat the eff up!
@@texomarc it won't slide as smooth as the plastic, but slides very well. It is really durable for what we use it for. I also have it on my TRX4 Jeep for 8months, and it looks good and has held up. I put it on the side rails and rear corners(TRX4). Been on the SCX24 for months and you can see some scrapes but not deep gouges.
Dude I love it! I’m definitely gonna make one for the fcx24. Been meaning to work on a flat skid for it but this is the way to go! Totally stealing it but I’ll give credit 🤘
Awesome! Can’t wait to see what you come up with! A buddy in the comments sent me pics of his front skid that he did out of scale diamond plate he found on Amazon. Like you, I’ve had the idea but never sat down with it. I like the lexan because you can still see everything but you could also make it look cool and hide the whole servo. I sure appreciate you hangin out, Matt! Too cool to have you here in the comment section! Hope you have a great day, brother!
@@texomarc heck yeah man! I have some scale diamond plate but I think I like the plastic idea honestly. I love the idea of covering the entire servo and arms. Be sick on my rat rod build to do some custom work with it! Killer stuff for sure!
Thanks bro! Obviously, cool parts are cool parts but making your own is rad and making something you’ve never seen before is even better! Too fun! Thanks for hangin bro and I hope you have a great day!
Good job! For some reason I had it in my head to make a skid out of sheet metal but this looks easy to make and replace. Plus plastic often slides better. Making things work on the cheap is super rewarding and you get an idea of whether or not buying a part will be worth it.
I had the same idea. Maybe use an aluminum can? Could be cool but like you said, doesn’t slide near as good. Growing up, creativity was a necessity because we didn’t have a bunch of money. Now, it’s just fun. Sure appreciate you hanging out and I hope you have a great day!
Thats fricken sweet how well it crawls, I took off my treal aluminum links and went back to stock because I liked how bouncy it was with stock springs and links haha, recently got proline Hyrax tires, love the way it handles right now
Nice bro, always sharing everything you do! Other channels say, "buy this," "buy that," "buy the other thing," and most of it don't fit. But Josh shows you the trucks climbing walls like spiderman, THEN shows you every detail of what's been done to the trucks! Friggin awesome bro! #TexomaStyle FTW 😎
Heck yeah! We different! Lol. I gotta do another table vid. I missed a couple things. There’s lots of great parts available but at the end of the day, we still gotta set the cars up. If the car isn’t setup properly, it doesn’t really matter what parts you’re running. Sure appreciate you being here bro and hope you have an awesome day!
Loving ya channel man. Cept for wanting to start chopping up some of my projects ive had sitting on shelf for far too long due to the workload of a paid job.

Wow. Truly innovative and a great reminder that these scx24s still have a lot of untapped potential by using literal household scraps to maximize and tune performance. Also, what black magic are you employing to have those cars not have driveshaft rubbing with your custom fabricated low cg battery mounts?!?
Lol! I just put everything as close to the shaft as possible! (That’s what she said!) I grew up using trash and scraps to build things. Doesn’t always look the best but this thing works rad! I sure appreciate you being here and hope you have a great day!

There is a kit that puts the steering link behind the axle. Not sure who makes it. I wonder if the arm couldn't be mounted so it points up. Would need to figure out the how to link it to the steering link. Having all that steering linkage out front was something I've thought could use a new idea.

Yessir! Thanks for sharing the idea! Does that scale diamond plate flex much? Bendable or does it break?
