So many people asked who was wearing the Huggy Wuggy suit, and were shocked to find out it was a puppet that Stupendium made from scratch. Apparently they're still finding clumps of blue fur all around their house. Lol
The whole animated part with the hand smacking Huggy in the face and it's sigh reaction was a reference to all the playthroughs that showed up. Almost everyone gave the noticeably faking killer rag doll standing there like a statue with it's hand out and gave it either a High Five or a smack in the face. Interesting psychological take on the concept on that part though.
For context, Poppy Playtime is about a company who turns their employees into toys, organs and all. They bleed, they eat, the company took their own employees and turned them into toys, which is why most of them became monsters.
“Someone must have worked here once but they are gone and we remain” is a reference to the main plot of Poppy Playtime, where we (an ex employee) come back to the factory years after it’s been closed down and abandoned and all the employees “vanished”, hence they are all the toys left to collect dust because one of the experiments (the blue guy) killed the rest of the employees that weren’t turned into toys
The way I see this is how taking away the one thing someone is meant to do can cause insanity. Having the one thing you’re good at disappear creates a sense of worthlessness and depression which leads to stuff like this.
I know sometimes we just wanna watch the reaction video but for Stupendium I feel I must ask: PLEASE go to the original video and watch it. At least like it. He’s got his own studio now and is just beginning to tap into his potential. The effort he puts into his songs could always be heard, but not we can see it too, make sure Stupendium is getting the attention he deserves and once you’ve finished this reaction, watch the original if you haven’t already.
when you grow up, you just more adult toys (and not just that kind), what is a customizable video game character but a dress up doll/action figure in an imaginary play land; model kits even if you leave them on a shelf after words; even collectors will "mock play" with their stuff before setting it back down; just because you aren't on the floor making up stories with your toys doesn't mean the urge isn't still there...heck on can argue the freedom to do whatever like with those toys is driving the direction of videogames to try and be more open world, more outcomes, more side things to do or just explore and play; maybe even play with friends and make your own stories and stages.
Also, it makes me specifically of the antagonists of Toy Story 2 and 3. In three, Lotso Hugginbear became a villain because he was resentful of Daisy literally replacing him with an other Lotso. Thus, the sense of resent from the toys of feelings abandoned because was so easily replaced. However, the Toys of Poppy Playtime may also have the resentment of abandonment mixed with the same resent that Stinky Pete felt in Toy Story 2. The resent of never being bought by children and, as Stupendium put it, left Pete to decay in that box they made into his coffin.
It brings me joy watching you jam out to this. You seem so extremely genuine it’s awesome. Great review even if you are as you said taking things in the wrong context.
So, the game centers around the idea of a toy factory that may have found a way to turn humans into toys (hence Poppy being the first "intelligent doll"), and plays with the idea that the factory workers were also turned into toys. The factory ends up getting closed and boarded up, trapping all of the toys inside. Your character, an former employee, breaks into figure out what happened to everyone and gets caught up in the aftermath. The theme I see from this song shares a similar theme to Bendy and the Ink Machine. However, where Bendy centers around the question of "What happens to creations who are left behind by their creator?" and deals with animations coming to life this song centers around the question "What happens to the toys you abandoned when your grew up, and what would they do to you if they came to life?" After all, the toys get to see you when you are at your purest and when you don't have to act a certain way. How well did you treat them, and what would that look like if they treated you the same? Also, you can look at it as a discussion of what happens to someone when they no longer are able to do their purpose. A toy is meant to entertain and be enjoyed, but if they're just left in a box and stored away........all the 'entertainment energy' is not being used. If a person is trapped in a room and unable to use any creativity they have......they'll slowly go insane.
@@SeventhSolar "Take those tin toys from the attic/Bring those dolls down from the loft/Take your old friend out and ask if/they resent their resting spot/They may just be some plastic/They may look stuffed and soft/They'll still put you in a casket/but you won't be mint in box!" The actual game does not deal with you dealing with any toys that the main character ever owned. That whole section sounds like its geared towards the listener.

he always has his mouth open in someway like a toy would speak like and moves with only joints and stiff like on e of the army figures you'd get in the toy shop, also i think all the instruments he uses are toys in some form but im not to sure

This game's shit ton of drama has officially made it unlikeable, and I can no longer support. But I'm so glad Stupendium went through with this to the end, even if he doesn't support at well.

If you pay attention, you realize he never actually blinks anywhere in the video. That's impressive attention to detail.

The intelligent doll has become so much more horrifying with that...
Not just the employees were turned into toys. There were many others.

The fact that Stupes does all the animation himself as well!

I think Stupendium would've been more explicit if he meant to include a deeper meaning. This song looks surface-level-only to me.
