    The colour stuff isn't my thing, but the results look cool! Also, the history/details on Kono are a nice addition and have some great context. The Kono B&W offerings certainly are interesting to me so I'll be checking out.

      I had my finger hovering over the order button on a roll of Monolit yesterday- definitely one of the cooler offerings! Would love to see your results if you do try it!

    Glad to see this. I have Kono original candy, and I’ve been afraid to shoot it because I haven’t seen any reviews on it 😅

    these films looks really cool! thank you for laying out and making sense of all the different types, I've been confused by all their offerings in the past lol

      Haha me too! I'm glad it was helpful, I want to try more of their stuff because it's quite a treasure trove!

    Just looked them up, turns out they're making these in Germany? Definitely a surprise! Great video by the way :)

      Yes! All made in Germany, and I really like that they lean into their German origins with some of their branding etc. very unique!

    I have to say: these film stocks sure looks great and really interesting, and they are the subject of the video. But actually I am genuinely stunned by how great many of the images you took are.
    Not that your photos aren't usually that good, but I do am truely amazed by many of the ones showed in this video.

      Thank you so much, that makes me very happy to hear 😍 this summer was a bit of a renaissance moment for me creatively, and I'm really glad it reflects in my work!

    I just ordered a roll of the Delight 100 in 120 and I'm excited to try it out. I've been wanting to shoot a roll of color with my Yashica A and most of my 120 stash is B&W so this will be perfect. Hopefully it's worth the $25 price tag. 😬

      I wish you the best of luck! I want to try 100 next, the greenish color cast looks really interesting. I hope you get some good shots!

    So shoot portra and play with tint and highlight/shadow slider and you get kona?

    • @digitalstringsmedia
      @digitalstringsmedia 8 месяцев назад

      its more complicated, it would be like playing with the color curves of each color individually which is doable but time consuming. but this is a chemical tint so it will always look more different than what we could duplicate on a computer. Google "orange and teal LUT color curves" if you want to color more creatively

    These films have always amused me, it's like they come pre color graded for instagram 🤣 I didn't realize they were re-tinted kodak professional stocks, that's extremely interesting. I'd be very intrigued if they tried with ProImage 100 which is extremely flat out of the box. Art II 400 is likely ultramax.

      I'd like to see em use aerocolor! I'm obsessed with aerocolor and there's so many companies repackaging it now, Kono would do well to get their hands on it. Cheaper too!

    • @tinymanz443
      @tinymanz443 9 месяцев назад

      @@YvonneHansonPhotography that would be wicked. If they could dye it so that it corrects for the scanning issues, that would be so good. I don't know if you've played with Ektar (my preference over aerocolor) for fashion print work, but it's fantastic for dark skin tones and you can counteract the redish tint on lighter skin tones with a filter in camera.

    Don't forget Adox, that launched their first batch of their own C41 film in 2022. It was just a test run because the company they worked with in Germany for the coating or something like that ditched them so that's why the project is on hold currently. But for a only B&W brand they are light years ahead of where Ilford is currently with their Phoenix 200. Also, I don't know if Kono really does something to the film stocks they buy to Kodak. All of your exemples look like a very, very overpriced and poorly stored expired film. In Europe for one of these "gems" you can buy a Portra 800 and a Kodak Gold, or an Ektachrome and Color Plus. So maybe Kono Art is the new flex now 🙃

      I wouldn't be surprised if the adox color film had the same factory origins as Wölfen and lomocolor- it seems all roads lead back to inoviscoat (ie Agfa) when the package says Made in Germany :o

    I am only guessing resaprocity of art 1 and art 2 are different - I have only shot dubble film here in Europe but I think its similar and wondered why my long exposures were severely underexposed then I came across resaprocity and as its pre exposed some of the chemicals are already used - this varies between stocks. I only came across you channel yesterday and saw some older videos but then watched your latest and honestly am afraid to comment on it. I am not that articulate and have not considered the subject or you video properly but I will say youtube video comments in general have made me worried for humanity .

      Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment on this one! I think about that bit with pre-exposure using up chemicals, that's interesting. My channel can be a bit of an interesting mix of film photography data and social commentary, its ok if you feel more comfortable in one genre than the other haha.

    Portra 400 is closer to 15$ than 30$ just FYI. Portra 160 is even cheaper, maybe 13$?
