Publish a rushed review to please the algorythm VERSUS taking time to make a thorough, exhaustive analysis of the film, including differents angles and the context surrounding it. Quality content as always, many thanks.
I just finished my first roll this weekend and was so excited to see your new video!!! You are definitely give the most thoughtful practical film analyses! Thank you so much
Another film shooter! Happy to have found your channel. Excellent. Thanks for the video. I think what’s more exciting about this film is the fact it will be the tip of the iceberg. Hopefully more more pro level films will come next which will reduce the monopoly that some have on colour films. And in turn that will help reduce the costs a bit hopefully because shooting weddings etc on film really hits your profit margins
Love your results! I have three rolls of Phoenix waiting for better weather (the spring), but I will try all sorts of different lighting conditions not only in bright sunlight. Also a big fan of the history section (as a giant history nerd).
As to my knowledge ilfocolor film is not quite the same as the orwo nc films. It's apparently the same emulsion but coated on a differently coloured Base. It's kinda blue ish compared to the greenish base of the orwo
Tip to everyone who doesn't know this (from someone who's worked at a commercial lab), virtually ALL film -- even reversal film -- is overrated on the box. All of it. Most 400 film is at best ISO 250. When I was shooting in LA some years ago, I never met any pro shooter that didn't underrate film as a rule. For example, rate 100 at 80 or 64; 400 at 320 to 250; etc. Try this going forward, and I guarantee you'll be happier with all of your results! But don't take my word for it -- see Daniel Milnor's channel ("Thoughts on film photography"), who worked for Kodak.
It is quite a lot for an experimental film for which you’re not sure what the results might be. I agree. I certainly wouldn’t use it for client work. That said, here in the UK that’s still fairly cheap compared Ektachrome and Velvia etc which often retail for £26 and even £34 a roll at one retailer. a pro pack of Kodak Portra 400 is nearly £100 here in the UK depending on the retailer (about £80). The more exciting aspect is the potential for more films to follow that may be more serious contenders to likes of Portra etc

Tip of the iceberg would be great! I would love to see some more pro films in the near future, this one has a lot of potential!
@@YvonneHansonPhotography agreed. Your video shows some lovely results. Let’s wait and see what comes next 👍😎
Looks perfect for those winter sunsets
I just came across your channel today, I love your videos, and love that more Canadians have these wonderful channels.
Very well done with the history bit at the end. I’ve never seen a summary of it before.

the pics around 4:50 feel like posters for The Cure, love it!
Great video! Every time I watch content from this channel I have to buy new films
He he he the film market share is growing!
Definitely both very interesting and informative. Great video!

That makes sense to me! I've seen folks.comparing the negatives a bit online
The protest frame needs to be a meme. 😂 Another great video, though you know a lot of my feelings on this film now. ha ha.
Hahaha I had a little debate in my head whether it was worthwhile to Photoshop that and I'm glad I decided it was 🤣
Yes! Brilliance!
great shots
Thank you!
great video🎉
Thank you! And thanks for watching :)

$20 a roll! It's the beginning all right, beginning of the end for film.
sadly... in brazil a roll of the cheapest 35mm is 3% of the minimum age, imagine this, working a whole month to buy 30 rolls of film
