I know this video is old, and its super helpful. I have a question. On my custom 1 and 2, my shutter keeps auto changing. Shutter doesnt stay on double the fps. Welp! 😭
Could it be that you are not in Manual mode? It could be that your video is programmed to the wrong setting in the menu. You may need to change it to M mode before saving it to your custom settings. 5:17. Hopefully you resolved this issue already. I still reply to comments :) I just never got a notification
Rode NTG2 Shotgun Mic. Great mic, but I would prefer something that isn't as directional for these types of RUclips videos so you don't have to be directly in front of it all the time. I use this mic for interviews all the time. As for the mount, I got rid of it and don't use it anymore, but it was the Rode PSA1. Great arm of clamped to the desk. But I need more flexibility so now I just use a C-Stand + arm instead
Because time is money, my question is: can we lock a funktion to the specific button cause if I am in the speed dialing I gotta wait until the function is off so a can set the next setting as iso.. in Nikon this work much faster!
Man that's good work! Great to the point video. I am agonising over buying one of these or a Fujifilm xt20. I know they will both take great pictures and I have some cameras from both brand. I am just wondering if I can get colors that I like as much from the Sony as the Fuji without too much fooling around on the mac. I am looking at it more as an still photo artist than a semi-retired video producer-which I am. I was a nex5 guy when they came out and moved to the Omd em5 to get a viewfinder, but to tell the truth the pics never wowed me like they did with the Nex. Maybe I will go for it. I know it will be easy to sell if I ever need.
Sony is a bit weird with their colors. I sometimes find it hard to work with. I'm not sure why or what it is, but my photos can sometimes end up being a wired color and I just can't fix it. Whether it's the whole image having a color cast, or specific parts of they image (ex grass) being off and just annoying to fix in post to look natural again. I'm not sure. It's weird. But it's still my favorite
I told my 10 year old son that sony cameras are like picture robots-a little cold and logical, but really good. Maybe all it needs is an instagram filter!
can you elaborate -- Do you mean, when you pan the camera left and right, the footage bends? If that is what is happening, that is nothing you can fix. Most cameras will have this, this is a result of the sensor called Rolling Shutter. Some sensors are less noticeable while others are more noticeable. Only the very high-end video cameras will have global shutters that do not cause the image to bend. So, it's just a matter of not panning too quickly.
@@SerenityNest Don't pan the camera quickly. Slow movements. Its just the way sensors in cameras are. You cannot get rid of the rolling shutter, even with an increased shutter. Its how the sensor scans the image. A higher shutter will just give you less motion blur. The only way to fix this, or reduce the wobble effect is to upgrade to a higher quality camera - but it will still be visible, but not as much.
It's fixed at 800 because the picture profile gamma is set to SLog2. It should be. Make sure you're in video mode and have it selected to that picture profile
when you say at video mode what does that means?so should change the profile gamma so i can change my ISO setting? Also my record level cant be adjusted is it because i have yet coupled with any microphone yet?
Set the dial at the top to video. Go to PP8 and change gamma to SLog2 or CINE4. Slog will be min 800 iso and Cine4 will be 200iso. If you're new to this, I'd stay with Cine4. Tap the menu button to go back and make sure you still have that mode enabled. It should automatically work. What du you mean the mic level won't adjust? It should with or without a mic. If you don't have a custom button for you mic level set, do it through the menu... In movie2, 2nd tab, and I'm audio record level. Even without mic it should show you options to adjust the levels of the built-in mic
thanks im quite new on this camera....now that u mention to switch dial to video i works now for ISO200 and i can set mic record level too..but once im back at M mode on dial i wont be able to adjust audio record level...so when i shoot movie i only need to switch dial to '1' right not the 'video' dial right cos i aledi set the setting on the '1' how difference cine 4 n slog 2? and how it effect on my video?i do edit my video on premiere pro and play with color grading but not pro at it yet...
You need to know how to expose and color correct SLog2 properly. It's harder than Cine4. I don't recommend using that if your new to video. I am not new, and can find it difficult still. You can't shoot video in M. That's for manual photo mode only. Switch to movie mode or 1/2 on the dial of you have saved those presets as video presets
nice video mate very informative,,iv got my a6500 aswell 3 weeks ago,, iv learn some setting from your video,,give you a thumps up and hit the red button and the bell, you can visit mine if you got time,,,cheers,,,,,

do u think if u get higher shutter will it solve the problem, like double or triple the frame rate?
