Best episode ever. Mykala your words were so powerful and loving. Showing how every family has problems but most importantly you’ve kept your heart open to Katie. You’re were so open and real. God does have a plan. Bravo

Honestly, I have one sibling and I love it and I would never want more.. Hes 10 years older than me and there is no hate, no competition, just love and support .

Thank you for sharing your story about your sister. I was a surprise baby myself and both of my parents have always struggled with addiction. I grew up with the responsibility of basically parenting them. Because of this I’ve never tried drugs and rarely drink. Addiction is a horrible disease and when somebody is struggling with it , it impacts the whole family and all members. My husband never really understood it.. until he saw it first hand recently when my mother relapsed and the impact it had on everyone. Now he understands the mentality of - you can’t help somebody who doesn’t also want to be helped. You just have to support them and hope they want to change. It’s really sad. Thank you for sharing and I hope your sister wants to get the help she needs. ❤

I'm an only child. For whatever reason some people can't have or chose not to have more than one child. Please also don't feel sorry for us - we don't know any different and I made the best of the situation I found myself in. I think being an only child has made me very independent. I also have lots of friends from large families and they aren't close to their siblings. Here is Australia, having one child is becoming more and more prevalent for multiple reasons - cost of living, environmental impact of multiple children etc.

@reneerowli my son is an only child he was a triplet sadly he was the only one to survive. We would have given anything to have another, but I was unable. He always wanted a sister that is until he married, and now he has four sisters in law and he’s finding out the delicacy of having siblings😅 He had a great life and got to do a lot of travelling that if he had of had siblings, would never have happened

Refreshing to hear about people inside the same family having different political views and getting along.

So Jonas you know that the man is who determines whether the baby is male or female so not Mykayla’s fault if you do not have a boy

Addiction is a horrible disease. I feel really bad for Katie. 💔 If your parents had addressed the jealousy from the start maybe the trauma could’ve been avoided. Parents are just people who don’t always have the right answers. Hope she can figure life out.

I’m an only child and absolutely hate it! I have one son and am struggling with secondary infertility. I will be 39 this year and have been diagnosed with DOA (diminished ovarian reserve). It breaks my heart that my son may be an only too.

We're so different! I'm 30 years old this year and an only child as well, and I love it to be honest. I have the best relationship with my parents and I've never felt lonely ever.. or longing for a sibling. I only want to have one child myself.
(Not saying one feeling is more right than another 🙂)

Oh, so, my sibling is the reason I hate people. Got it. / My mom was ALWAYS on my sibling's side. NEVER mine yet I am the one who takes care of the old hoots now and the siblings are nowhere to be found.

Your view of siblings baffles me. Having a sibling was NOT a good experience for me at all.

Me either. My oldest sibling was a complete biatch. Still is a bully. I mean we get along but only because I am the bigger person.

So there are programs to help transition people with addiction back into regular life that are good…transitional living…

It’s sad that your sister is an addict and your family can pray for her that she overcomes her addiction and turns her life around and accepts Jesus as her Savior.
