- Since I have four at the moment I thought I'd do a comparative video about the emerging Inyen Vina brand (IYV). Included is the ITF300 NA Thinline Tele, the IJZ300 TSB ES175 style semi hollow body, the IES200 BK SG shaped semi hollow body, and the ISSY200 NA Neck-thru super strat style guitar.

I just got their Tel style with two P90s red quilted ?striped maple and it's got to be the best playing one i got right out of the box . The action was very low and intonation right on. I have over 30 guitars of all sorts I've never been so impressed and was way better than a fire fly 335 I got months ago and was just under $175.00 . also has two F holes.
I've had a couple of those and they set up decently. My favourite is the the spalted neck thru model - it really plays like a $600+ guitar.
I've just recently purchased the ISSy 200
Neck thru guitar. My trim came thru in chrome, the frets needed to be leveled and polished, I also swapped out the tuners for Gyker Locking tuners, my pickup rings were warped, so I installed new chrome ones. I put on a set of
D Adrio .oo9's trem bar was easy to adjust and I set the intonation on only 2 of the strings.
The nut was also filed out a little.
The guitar plays and sounds incredible.
Wow a budget guitar that definitely kicks ass!
So if you want a guitar to Mod out this is it...
The action on this beast is incredibly fast, a true shred machine for an affordable price!
The best 200$ I've ever spent...!!!😅😊😂
With a little T.L.C. this axe is delightful and will make you smile...!!!
Enjoy...
I hope to do a video soon with it...
I love that guitar - sounds like you did some good mods too!
I just got an IYV IP-300-TSB. I LUV IT!
I never thought that I'd ever be able to afford a neck thru. And it's straight up real nice!
Sound fantastic. She's pretty.
I had not seen that ISSY200 before this video otherwise, it would have been a tough call.
At their prices, I'm tempted to collect many of the IYV models. That ISSY200 is next on my list followed by their IJZ-500 NA.
IF you're wondering, those are Korean words on the truss rod cover that read "Music Partnership". BUt I can't help but wonder if that means "Band" but gets lost in translation.
All the neck-thru IYV models are nice - but the ISSY is my favourite of the three.
I have the IYV IP-300-TSB. It's a PRS copy with the neck-through and Wilkinson tremolo. It's excellent! I put some nice PRS tuners on it from my actual PRS guitar when I changed out the tuners for locking ones from Graphtech.
I've had that one too... and it was very good value too. Sounds like you made some great mods.
love it dude, your videos are always SO ENTERTAINING! Keep up this fantastic work, looking forward to more videos~~~
Thanks friend - will do.
Nice video man. Ive had my eye on the neck through strat for a while. With the neck and the hardware it comes with, i thought it had to be too good to be true. Watching your video, convinced me to pull the trigger. So, thanks for that. 🤘
You'll love this beast!
Hope you got a good one.
the semi-hollow Tele from IYV I got lately has full size Korean pots and 4-wire humbuckers ....stock! So I had 2 push/pull pots put in and now can split either or both humbuckers. Done!
Great mod my friend ✌
Fantastic - well done!
wow these sound beautiful
They are very decent for the price range.
Great review video. I truly would like to see more reviewers include the weight of the individual guitars though. It would really help round out the whole picture of the instrument, thanks.
Good point!
Great review....I missed out a couple of times too....still waiting to jump on one !!
Keep your eyes peeled for one....
Just got my IZJ300 and I can tell you I've never played a guitar with such a perfect intonation before in my life, could never get that even with the top brands, I mean when you play an open chord but starting at the 12th fret it just sounds almost like a harp more than a guitar, they got some mojo in those CNC machines they use
Yes, they are quite the bargain aren't they?
This is a great affordable brand. Thank you for showing these nice guitars.
My pleasure.
@@FlowforthInstruments You certainly have great knowledge of guitars, and i did get one of the iyv ijz 300 models . I may disagree on politics, but i rely on your common sense about what a guitar should be. I truly enjoy the Asian made guitars for the most part, as my music room walls attest to! Keep up the good work and we will all keep watching your great reviews.
@@dlmullins9054 Thanks for the kind words - glad you like the IYV.
I feel like I'm going to go broke buying all his guitar recommendations. I may have to learn guitar setup and sell a few online to satiate my growing guitar addiction, lol! // My fave part was 6:35 where he speaks about the ISSY model that is akin to a Super Strat
We're all going broke with this stuff mate.
Nicely done! Lately I've been wading through a lot of budget guitar review videos by self-proclaimed "guitar gurus" and it's refreshing to see one done by someone who can actually play! Also, you could give a lesson to virtually EVERY SINGLE famous guitar reviewer out there about volume leveling between talking and playing!!!! Yours was damn near perfect!
Thanks for the compliment but also guilty of playing badly on some reviews and not being very technically astute with video production. Glad to know I'm on the right track....
I just received my first iyv.wow ,I'm impressed.all most perfect out of box.only thing I could find on the build of the guitar, was just a few small flaws in binding.im not sure yet, until acclamating, does have a few high frets.they are better than the firefly guitars.at not much higher cost.i don't know how these guitars make it to you with the inadequate boxing.i got the 300.first guitar I have ever had, that has a 3 piece mahogany neck, never seen that befor.im not complaining, I know that cheaper to build, and I believe it makes the neck stronger,Anand less likely to twist.
Yes, you do find flaws and they often need some set up - but that's the same with all guitars bought on the internet. I play my neck thru all tht time these days - it's a really fine guitar.
I just got my ISSY, and it is easily the prettiest strat style guitar I've seen. Its flawless. Yes, it needs a truss rod tweak, and an action adjustment, and intonation done, the usual...but other than that the guitar is amazing to look at. I like IYV's choice of 1 vol., 1 tone knob and a 3 way switch on some of these guitars. Again, beautiful. I bought a couple Fireflies, and they're beautiful too, just dont get too close. IYV stands up to the magnifying glass test every time. The neck and headstock ate gorgeous, and I dont need to smooth out the neck, for some reason my hands NEVER sweat, and glossy neck have never been a problem for me.
Good to hear - I like mine and think it's the best playing IYV yet.
What size are the frets?
Some other newer IYV models have a split coil switch. This thing looks heavy, how much does yours weigh?
I've just did a mod on mine...
New locking tuners, polished out the frets,
New chrome trim rings..
This axe is trick!
And I have many very expensive guitars...!!!
I love the thing...😮😊
Ihave the 300 thinline...i got mine for $130,,,its a great playing guitar,i love it!
Cool - they are decent with a good set up.
I have not changed anything yet on mine and I Love this Guitar..!
Me too!
Your a LIVERPOOL Fan !!!! Yes! so am I!
YNWA!
I own 3 of them and they all play way outside the price... I have the jazz ..the PRS 24 semihollow copy and the Telecaster with p90s... I'm in a garage band so they work great for that ..I Don't worry about someone stumbling on one 🍺🍻🤣 .. I really love that double cut that was cool 😎
✌🍄👍
You've got a collection going - they are bargains.
Just ordered the ISSY while listening to your video (Amazon has it for $225 right now!) already have an IYV IJZ-300 and it is my favorite 'budget' guitar. Getting Seth Lovers installed in the IJZ-300 and Invaders for the ISSY...should make for very different sounding guitars.
Great little bargain guitars!
I hadn't seen the one with the Bigsby before, that one looks really cool
I still have it - nice guitar.
Your favorite is also my favorite
Surprisingly good guitar
@@FlowforthInstruments what size are the frets. I have to many medium jumbos I need a guitar with Jumbo frets.
@@bluwng I think they are medium Jumbo, sorry.
If that guitar was routed for a Floyd Rose and locking nutt. It would really be a beast!!
Not impossible if you want to take it on.
Some people don’t like Floyd Rose bridges
Dang! I missed the ISSY 200 NA. I've been checking Amazon about once a week for new IYVs and I missed this one. I now have 4 IYV guitars and 3 of them were great straight out out of the box. only the red Tele IYV ITF-400 TRD was not great. Had lots of fret buzz so I had to adjust the truss rod. Also had some crackle on the tone knob when turned to the bass position. I also found that the high E string is too close to the edge of the fretboard, and when I do pull offs I tend to pull the string off the edge off the neck. I still love the sound of the P90 style pickups though. The first one you reviewed the ITF 300 NA is probably my favorite guitar from a purely ergonomic standpoint. Neck fits my hand like a glove, its lightweight and super fun to play. Yes I have guitars that sound better but this sounds good and if I get around to putting better pickups in it this could be totally boss. Just got the Mustang copy. Its fun to play and if you're into surf rock, it nails the tone.
They will come back around. Keep checking.
Hey you know I picked up one of these issy guitars couple of months ago and the trim system on it is pretty cool right after I had my first experience with a Floyd Rose. However your comment about the trim bar was a bit off because it's a push in but there is a friction adjustment screw on the back of the bridge which allows it to be placed wherever you like and does not fall out.
Yes, the one I had didn't function properly - glad you got a good one.
A few days ago They had the PRS clone neck thru model up and I got one of the 5. Then they sold out. They had the semi hollow PRS clone up too and that sold out quickly too. I couldn’t justify that one. Waiting for new stock on the red HH Tele P90 model of which I had to return 2 for horrible binding......
The green PRS copy was the best but I haven't seen that listed in a while. The red p90 model isn't as good in my opinion. Their listings are sporadic and you just have to wait for them to come around again.
It's crazy, everything else costs more over time, but because of tech and I'm sure other things, now you can get a great guitar for a reasonable price.20 to 30 years ago these would cost twice or 3 times the money, and still wouldn't be this great.
Fully agree - thanks!
The quality of guitar's has gone up because of the booming Asian market, when you bought guitar's from the US they always costed more and the quality of the import brand's was pretty low for a long time. NOW Epiphone is making guitar's that rival Gibson's pretty darn close, along with PRS and Fender Mexico also and these not so big brand's like Ivy are making far better quality guitar's than in the past. It's a good time to be a guitar player right now because there are SO many option's that are affordable instead of laying in bed at night dreaming of that 12 grand guitar you will never afford, now ANYONE with a little bit of cash can get a decent instrument that with a little extra cash can be upgraded into something really special.
You got that right!!!
I like Richlite...I also like that particular type of Wilkinson trems...if it goes out a little, then you can just grab the tuner of the string that is out, you can grab it and bring it back in...to where on a Floyd you have to use the fine tuners...I used to own a Carvin DC 400 that played spectacular, and only sold it because of my bad management of money at that time...now I don't have an IYV, so not sure about the refinement detail that a Carvin (now Kiesel) has, but IMO, if you stretch the strings proplerly when putting a new set on the guitar, then it'll probably be a great gigging guitar if you don't want to take your nice $1K to $3k guitar out and about to a bar...me, I use guitar modeling anyway on my BOSS SY 1000 to get that strat thing or Tele thing, plus any alternate tunings...when I gig, there usually just isn't enough stage real estate to line up a bunch of guitars, amps, etc...to pull off a bunch of different guitar tones found in all those cover songs to get at least in the ballpark of the tones on the released tracks of those songs, and even if a stage was big enough, the band and venues don't like a bunch of dead time in between songs, so I've found it is just more efficient to keep the same guitar strapped on through 4 45 minute sets of a 4 hour gig including breaks...now the downside is that to use the 13 pin deal, you gotta be on a leash...maybe one day they'll come out with a wireless 13 pin transmitter...but Graph Tech has piezos that are Wilkinson style like on that guitar...pretty easy mod...expensive, but a person could mod that neck-thru with a Graph Tech Hexpander and piezo saddles and still be well under $1k for the whole deal if they're handy and can do the mod themself...thanks for the review...
Great info - thanks.
Love your channel. Very informative. Where can I get a beanie like that?
Marry a lass that can crochet like the devil!!
You should look into the Bullfighter version of the ISSY. No model #, but it’s on Amazon for $220
Unfortunately I can no longer get them since I've moved to the UK.
I'm now thinking of sell ing my fireflys,to get more iyv.i really want, the neck through
I play that neck-thru all the time now.
I'm new to your channel and have you did a review on budget hollow body guitars and a Tele style guitar with a set neck. Also Fender type guitars with 3 tuners side by side?
I've reviewed hundreds of guitars. Check out some videos.
So hard to find a once Piece guitar 24 fret for Metal. I need this guitar lol
Anyone know if destiny pickups are ceramic or alnico?
Sold on that super strat,thx
Hope you get a good one - still love mine!
@@FlowforthInstruments I'm 2 for 2, got the tele and the es175 copy.so far so good, thx for the review
@@FlowforthInstruments got a good one.thx again.just sanded the neck.appreciate the review
@@cigdamagelungs Cool - should be a good instrument for you.
I mean it has 3 pieces, the full length including headstock, not scarf joints.never seen that befor
Very well made guitar.
I personally think that iyv was selling these guitars at or slightly above cost of manufacture... Doing so in hoping that people would catch on and then they can slowly up their prices and people would already know about the quality and keep purchasing them anyway
Good guess. I think their main business is making guitars for other companies and they throw together quick runs of guitars for their own logo using the leftovers. This doesn't make them bad - it's just that I've noticed a lot of variance in the materials used.
nice reviews, one suggestion, wear a clip on mic, it's hard to hear you
The Trem is an Asian Wilkinson model, not the same as the one's on more expensive guitar's. You can't beat a guitar at this price point even if you aren't happy with the pick up's or anything else, you can upgrade this to a VERY great guitar for a lot less than paying the huge sticker price for a big name brand guitar. If I had known about these guitar's and the Harley Benton brand I would have spent a LOT less on equipment when I was just starting and had GAS really bad.
Very true - IYV, Harley Benton, Agile, Hard Luck Kings, Indio, Wolf, Sawtooth.... all great bang for buck.
My 300 has a 3 piece neck does yours?
Yes, nice wood too.
I ve heard iyv is the same company that made wolf guitars(korean) which sells for 500 and up in US.may be now they are a different company
I think the fame factory makes IYV, Wolf, and some Harley Bentons.
Okay, I’m curious now, which would you say is better, the ISSY-200 or the IP-300? I’m just curious, since from what I can tell, both are neck-through construction, with similar pickups and bridge/trem hardware, with the main difference being that the ISSY is like a Superstrat-style with maple and Fender-type design language, while the IP-300 is PRS-style with mahogany and PRS-type design language.
The ISSY200 is one of my favourites - along with the IP300BK and the EIS200BK. Those are the ones I held onto after setting up dozens of them.
@@FlowforthInstruments I definitely get the sense they are your favorites! How heavy are they?
@@zuperdee Pretty heavy but not the worst. I just had a solid Ash Slick guitar that was heavy AF! The neck through IYV is in the Les Paul range, 7-8 lbs.
@@FlowforthInstruments 7-8 lbs is in the Les Paul range?!?!? Wow… I’m honestly a bit surprised, because my Ash-bodied Stratocaster clone (Monoprice Indio Cali DLX Plus) weighs 8.5 lbs, and it does NOT seem excessively heavy at all, though I don’t think I’d want it to be any heavier. Make the guitar body too light, and it will then suffer Neck Dive(tm). So you’re saying a LP-type guitar could actually be lighter than my S-type guitar?
@@FlowforthInstruments The EIS-200BK is certainly unique, by the way! I can definitely see why it’s one of your favorites-it isn’t everyday you find that combination of semi-hollow SG-like body with a Bigsby! Here’s hoping IYV will produce more of those!
I would like to see IYV get away from points on the headstock as they are just begging to get dinged. A rounded end seems better.
But I'm definitely zeroing in on this brand for my next purchases. I like their style, quality, models, and price.
Yes, the word is now out and they are getting fairly popular. I do notice some variance on headstock shapes from model to model though.
Can you give me an accurate weight on the 2 semi hollow guitars? My back can't take a heavy one any more
Don't have them any more - but they weren't too bad - 5-7 lbs maybe!
@@FlowforthInstruments I got the iyV full size jazz box that cost right under $300..... It weighs over 12 lb. Picking it up with one hand wants to snap your tendon right off of your shoulder bone.. but it absolutely sounds and plays incredible I feel like Ted Nugent with this damn thing!
@@ziggylayneable I must have got a lemon as everyone likes theres more. I'm sure you're a lot nicer than Ted.
He'll 30 years ago the neckthrough would cost,800 to 1200 bucks
Spot on - amazing price on these.
Anyone know which pickguards fit? Epiphone, Gibson, ect?
Should work - although you might have to drill an extra hole or two.
Hey bro that’s not a double skunkstripe that’s a 7 piece neck 😊
I’m tempted on that one.
If you're in the US - keep checking Amazon.
@@FlowforthInstruments what’s your take on this guitar versus the IYV PRS copy neck thru?
@@edatkinson322 The neck-thru model is an excellent player - at least the one I got was.
Where do you get your skull caps? I've lost my hair due to chemo treatments and winter is coming.
The wife is an excellent crocheter.... you can find a lot of really nice home knit caps on Etsy too. Good luck with your treatments and hang in there... we went through a 4 year battle and I know how tough it can be. Remember, music is good therapy too!
@@FlowforthInstruments Thank you, I was just told I am now in remission but still have another year of chemo. Dealing with a few complications due to the treatments but I'll get through it. Guitar, music, your channel and other music/gear channels have been an enormous help. I really enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work
@@tball5677 All the best to you my friend. Sounds like they've got it taken care of. It took two stem cell replacements for my wife but she made it through too.
@@FlowforthInstruments So happy for your wife. May we all enjoy a long and productive life.
@@tball5677 Thanks my friend - makes us appreciative of every day!
Fretwork is good?
Yes - very decent - just did a little dress.
Bone nut on the neck through?
Mine came with one.
What's your source for these? I only see the one on Amazon
Usually Amazon or Marketplace - although I've also bought direct from Inyen Vina and a couple through the used market.
So they actually sell thru their website? Didn't see that, I'll have to look again. If the rest of them are the same quality as my green LP, I might have a lot more guitars soon lol
@@wezilman Yes, and they have recently been selling new guitars (more variety of models) on their eBay page - although lots of people complained about the international shipping and they may have taken the listings down.
Interesting, I'll check it out, thanks. Maybe one day they'll have a US distributor
@@wezilman I think we're stuck with Amazon for now. I see they've just pulled everything off their eBay page. People complained about the shipping....
whats the weight?
Don't have it anymore but this one was heavy!
I heard the trem on Iyv na-200 is very loose
Yes, it does flop around a bit (by design I think) - but there are things you can do to remedy this, including putting a sheath around the tremolo bar to make it a tighter fit.
@@FlowforthInstruments oh ok, ty
Pick up fetishes 🤣🤣🤣
I gotta admit I love EMGs ... and I am exclusively an Ernie Ball Strings guy . Even on my acoustics . Earthwoods on my 12 string but I like classic rocker electric strings on 6 string acoustic.
But back to pick ups . I'm not dead set on EMG humbuckers but they are my preferred.
Fair enough!
Sure wish you obtain a decent amp to demo guitars through in the future. They sound better without the amp.
Decent amps won't make a difference - I need a better way to record them. I might try one of those zoom recorders soon.
@@FlowforthInstruments P.S. The built in effects are super even if you don't use all that computer stuff. Very tweekable with just the knobs. A Blues guy's opinion. ruclips.net/video/YuCAf75xmHg/видео.html
@@twowaymuir Cool thanks - I will check it out.
Omg tune the hollow body up
It was tuned but I tend to shoot videos right after set up while the strings are still stretching - as I often state.
Dang dude how much did IYV pay you?
Not a penny. I bought them all!
Watching in 2024 prices have not changed much
Good to know - unfortunately can't get them in the UK.
Your accent seems to change as you talk. weird.
Not that weird - lots of hybridised people in the world....
