I tried it and it did not work. Oh well, it was worth a try. So the next day I was going to snake it. I ran the water and it started to back up again and then all of the sudden the water just started draining just like when it was new. It worked!!! I don't know why it was such a delayed reaction but IT WORKED!!!! Thank you so much! Been draining great ever since!
A word of caution. If you have pvc or abs drain pipes, pouring scalding, boiling water down the drain will melt the cement or glue along the joints and cause a bigger issue.
@@5120Rosi Ridiculous and misleading comment. Boiling water is 212F. Hot water from water heater should be 140F at most. PVC and ABS is rated for 140F. Ask a plumber. Original Post is dangerous and stupid.
Supposedly what this does is it causes the pressure to push whatever is in there out. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. You have to close off the other end. If you have a safety drain on a tub good luck thanks for watching.
Sometimes you have to do this 2 or 3 x! Also....mix the baking soda with a little of the hot water to help get it down in the drain before you add the vinegar. If you dont have any standing water that is..
I have used this method on slow PVC drains and it has worked every time. I get the water in the kettle very hot to almost the time the kettle starts to whistle. Have never tried on clogged drains. On clogged drains I usually take PVC trap apart and rod the drain.
Well, if there’s hair in there, you may need to pull that out with an auger or one of those long hook train unplugged. I have a couple of videos on both.
Thanks for the helpful tip. However, your drain wasn't clogged when you initially poured in the boiling water😂. Boiling water may be too hot for plastic plumbing. Particularly, if the drain doesn't drain well like yours did in the video.
Thank you for this video. What’s with all the skeptics? My initial hot water went right through too. Try taking a shower and that’s a different story. Thank you 😊
@ ok thank you for responding . I have older plumbing pipes 1945ish….i would like to set a schedule to clean them out….if I do this flush every 3 months would it harm anything?
Great video. Hard to know how effective it was in your case, as when you poured the water in initially, it drained straight away, with no delay or water sitting. But appreciate the detailed process none the less
If you haven't unclogged your drain and like 4 or 5 months, use a cup of baking soda and two cups of vinegar and you may need a plunger to give it the extra boost but it works.
This tub is absolutely ruclips.net/user/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif . Great quality too. The perfect size for the space in our master bath!
You may have to block the overflow because this works on pressure from the chemical reaction so if the overflow which is higher up on the bathtub allows the gas to escape it won’t unclog the drain

Worked perfectly. I did two cycles and drains fantastic now!!!
Excellent glad to hear it. Thank you for watching and happy new year.
It worked! saved 500 dollars, thank you !!!
You're welcome! do it yourself, and save money
$500 seems like robbery

We’ve gotten all copper pipes house is probably 45 years old
BUt hot water will not. I have PVC, and no issues.

@@TomLeeman This is a dangerous and misleading post. Most people do not have copper drain lines. You should take this down bro.
Can you use just regular hot water that comes out of the tub instead of boiling water
He’s so cute. He does it like we’re standing right over him. This is yet another home project that’s cheap, thorough and fast. 😎
Good luck on your clog and thank you for those kind words
Worked great!!!!!!!!!
Used it in my kitchen sink
Glad to hear it better than using Drano thanks for watching

Whst if you have water in your tub will it still work?
The tub was not clogged to begin with! The water you put in at the beginning poured right on in 🤣
It was moving slow

@@jerryschauss4123 and how would that work under a tub?
Thank you for a quick simple demonstration. Doing this now!
Good luck and thank you for watching
Is it necessary to have to clean out any hair that may cause the clog first? Or can you go right to the vinegar and baking soda process?
Well, if there’s hair in there, you may need to pull that out with an auger or one of those long hook train unplugged. I have a couple of videos on both.

Thanks for the tips!
So what if the hot water doesn't go down? You're demonstrating on a bathtub that isn't clogged.
It was clogged, but I have other videos where I show you how to take apart the drain and pull all the junk out
Had standing water in my tub so I had to do this process twice then use a plunger, but it worked thankfully
Glad to hear it. Thanks for watching.
Does it really work
Thank you for this video. What’s with all the skeptics? My initial hot water went right through too. Try taking a shower and that’s a different story. Thank you 😊

Should I pull the hair out first or will it flush that down as well?
Get the hair out first if you can thanks for watching
Did you try this without pulling the hair out?
@@user-mv4os8pq2i I didn't try at all yet, but thank you though. At the time of my comment, my roommate took care of it already.
How often should I do this -maintenance?
I just do it when it gets clogged up

Thanks so much this really works!
You’re welcome good luck unplugging your drain
I used this method and it work.
Excellent good to hear. Thanks for watching.
Great video. Hard to know how effective it was in your case, as when you poured the water in initially, it drained straight away, with no delay or water sitting. But appreciate the detailed process none the less
It was draining really slow, but eventually, I did have to auger out the drain. I have have a video on that too.
But it never showed the tub clogged, I'd like to see a semi clogged tub and have this done to see it work
Next time it clogs up, I will make a video for you
Exactly. How do we know it was clogged?
I wish I could “like” this 10x 💥💯🇬🇧
You can thanks for watching
If you haven't unclogged your drain and like 4 or 5 months, use a cup of baking soda and two cups of vinegar and you may need a plunger to give it the extra boost but it works.
Excellent tip thanks for watching merry Christmas
This is so much better than then using Draino and all them other acidic drain cleaners! What temperature do you boil the water at?
High water boils at 212° so it’s really hot be careful good luck on your drain
Wait unti your kettle whistles!
Really
I will try this today. Mine is backing up when taking a shower
Good luck with your drain and thanks for watching
What can you use to substitute hot boiling water
You need the boiling water
Will this work with apple cider vinegar?
I think you have to use white vinegar
If you have PVC, they may be corrosive
Funny we look at how well the job is done, there wasn't an indication the drain was plugged or slow draining before the treatment!
It was plugged draining slow, but later I had to take apart the overflow and use an auger to clear it
My drain is clogged so how can I pour water into it? It won't go down ?
I just posted a new video on that how to unclog a shower drain with a Ryobi auger
does this work for a clogged toilet ?
I am not sure it would work on a toilet because I’ve never tried
This tub is absolutely ruclips.net/user/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif . Great quality too. The perfect size for the space in our master bath!
Hope it works for you. Thanks for watching.
I’ve heard that you shouldn’t use it if you have PVC pipe, but if you have older pipes, it should be safe
I have white vinegar, but idk if its distilled or basalmic?
Just Hass to be white vinegar react with the baking soda and hopefully I’ll unplug that drain
What if my shower floor is filled with water already?
I can’t directly put it into the drain Cus it’s underwater !
You may need an auger to clear the drain. I have a couple of videos on that.
Well, you never showed that it was clogged in the first place.
Oh yeah, I should’ve shown you that the water just wasn’t draining out
THANK YOU because I didn't want to use a chemical products
You are welcome good luck thanks for watching
Worked great!
Great to hear!
Has this been patched yet?
This actually works, but I did have to do some other work and eventually I had to auger this drain. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
Thank you!!! Great video!
You are welcome hope it works for you thanks for watching
Tried it no luck. Headed out to get an auger.
I have a video and how to do the auger also
Wouldn’t boiling water crack the pipes?
I believe PVC can handle it, but we do have copper pipes, and so far it isn’t Crackin but who knows
I think it should still work
Your drain isn't backing up so hard to see how it worked
OK thanks
That is not true. I have done it with boiling water, baking soda, vinegar, salt every 10 minutes and it does not stop the slow drainage.
You may have to block the overflow because this works on pressure from the chemical reaction so if the overflow which is higher up on the bathtub allows the gas to escape it won’t unclog the drain
Thank u
Thank you!
You are welcome
Can't pour that much water down the drain. Backs up after a cup at most.
Try to port slower
Lollll I literally bought Publix distilled vinegar and it’s the first thing I see in the video
You must’ve said vinegar in your phone picked this up. Good luck thank you for watching.
