Caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) and boiling hot water blasts it away in seconds. Just be careful when using it, keep your face away and wear some eye protection.
Hi, I would occasionally prepare a mixture of Dawn Detergent, Baking Soda, and White Vinegar together. The mixture is placed into a large container uncapped. I will leave the container in a room and leave it there until I return. Once I returned, I would pour a portion of the solution into a spray bottle and recapped the large container. Then, ..apply as needed. I would use it in my kitchen sink, trash container, tile floor in the bathroom, a little on carpet or edges inside the house, behind certain furniture, around the fireplace, spray it on my front/back porch around the corners for bugs, along with the bathtub drain, basin drain, and also the toilet. And, as mentioned, it does work. However, vinegar and baking soda are considered acidic with base products. I don't have a window in my bathroom, but even if I did, you still need to be very careful using these products. They will present a certain reaction of chlorine gas to escape. Nevertheless, I have used just the salt and boiling water method in the bathroom, and it does work. So, thanks Clean Master for your time and effort! "sending wellness unto all"
No, mixing baking soda, salt, and vinegar does not create chlorine gas, but mixing baking soda and vinegar does create carbon dioxide gas. When you combine baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and vinegar (acetic acid), a chemical reaction occurs that produces carbon dioxide gas, water, and sodium acetate salt. The carbon dioxide gas is invisible, but you can see it as bubbles when the mixture starts to fizz. This reaction also causes a temperature change.
I just now ran across this. When I first bought my home, 10 years ago, I rented it out. Hubby and I moved back in last year. We have been having plumbing issues, so I tried this on my guest bathroom sink. I put in the mixture, and it just sat there, no movement at all. I decided to put on the gloves and take off the stopper. OMG! What a horrible black mess it was! I started pulling out the awful mess and the mixture started flowing. My drain is now clean and running well. Thank you! Now, I need to figure out how to get the tub drain undone!
@@setdown2 Usually a tub has a lot of hair in the drain. You can get a cheap drum snake and run it down through the overflow. After a few spins, you will pull what looks like a drowned rat out.
You don’t need the dish soap or salt. Just bicarbonate of soda and vinegar, either white or brown, makes no difference. My mother taught me to do this and I’m 66 now. Put bicarbonate of soda in the drain, pour in vinegar, quickly put the plug in to stop it foaming out, then after a few minutes pour boiling water down the sink. No glasses, no bowls, no crap.
Love white vinegar, baking soda and dish soap! My favorite combination! I clean just about everything with them. This tip for drains doesn’t surprise me. Everyday I seem to learn a new application for them.
2 cups household vinegar down the drain. Wait 30 minutes and flush it down. Takes care of the smell. For some reason toothpaste will set up in the drain and cause a sewer smell. The vinegar dissolves it. Do once a week.
I heard from a chemist that baking soda (alkaline) neutralizes vinegar (acidic), so even though all RUclips videos say to combine them, it’s not a good combination at all! Just sharing this bit of info. Soap, hot water (and May be salt) seem ok to me.
It's not the solution, it's the process. When baking soda and vinegar react, it creates thousands, maybe millions of bubbles that quickly form and burst. This is called cavitation, which loosens the material. Works great removing stains in coffee pots.
Baking soda, salt first. Then add white vinegar and let bubble first, then add boiling water and plunge. Your drain will totally be clear. Make sure the sink is dry when you begin to add ingredients.
In the case of odour, the problem can often be that the small connection between the sink overflow and the outlet drain pipe has become blocked - rather than a blockage in the outlet pipe itself. I have found that a small steam cleaner can work very well to unblock the overflow quickly.
A plumber tried to take my drain apart. It's an old house(70 years plus) and has all brass fittings. He couldn't get anything undone, so I still get the clogged sink. He literally just gave up.
I pour baking soda into each of my drains and then pour white distilled vinegar down the drain. Then I pour boiling water down each drain to rinse. This seems to always clear my drains. I especially so this before winter and haven’t had the issue of my drains freezing as soon.
hi Andrew, you are so right! I had this problem a few month ago. All 4 of drainage did not work anymore. The plumber had to get his heaviest tools to clear all. Deodorizing a bathroom sink isn't the same as cleaning the drain of a clogged kitchen sink which may have a trap blocked by accumulated insoluble dirt and coffee grounds.,
I would recommend running a physical drain cleaner to remove hair clumps & break up debris before doing this. It's amazing the amount of yuck you can pull out of the hole to help declog it.
It will clear the blockage too. Once I had a shower tray very slow to drain, I poured in a cup of baking soda, then a cup of white vinegar and left it for approximately 30mins then poured a large jug (about 2 pints) of hot water and it worked well.
If you have a septic tank you have to be careful because the bacteria in the tank needs to stay alive or wastes will clog it up and clog up leach field . Add bacteria to the septic tank every 3 months or sooner if you see a slow drain and the P traps are not clogged then your septic tank needs cleaned or bacteria added

Domestic cleaner for 17yrs, Bi carb & vinegar works reliably. Kills smells, unblocks clogs of every description imaginable, kills dried pipes smell of shower, bath and basins plug holes rarely used. Flush with cold water after 20mins to refill u-bend in pipeline. Can tip a cap full of undilated bleach down plug hole for peace of mind. Reliable, quick, un-Theatrical, sorted. Got a blocked shit house needing unblocking because the kids put way too much toilet paper in it?? Forget a plumber, plunger and never use your toilet brush or you’ll never get your toilet brush bristles clean of the paper & shit. Just grab a 3/4 bucket of cold water and pour it heavily at hip height down the loo to flush. The force pushes everything down to clear. Wait til water level has had a chance to drain first! 100% guaranteed on second attempt if not the first time.

@@kallegrabowski8972 ok. Thanks
I'm gonna try out to see if it works
👍
also when plunging the drain the overflow needs to be blocked to get suction.
👍
Ótimo 👍 obrigada 🤜🇧🇷🤛
Que bom que você gostou! Espero que continue a utilizar o método natural de limpeza 🌿🚿.
Deodorizing a bathroom sink isn't the same as cleaning the drain of a clogged kitchen sink which may have a trap blocked by accumulated insoluble dirt and coffee grounds.,
''Thanks for the insight! Our product is specifically designed to tackle tough kitchen sink clogs like the one you mentioned 🚰🧼.''
I would recommend running a physical drain cleaner to remove hair clumps & break up debris before doing this. It's amazing the amount of yuck you can pull out of the hole to help declog it.
That's a great tip! 😊👍
A packet of Drainex (of any company) is available in hardware shops for appx Rs 30/-. Does the same thing efficiently and with lesser effort.
😉
that's caustic soda and dangerous!!!!!!!
Neat washing up liquid works just fine. Just squirt it into the still water and it will cut through the grease.
Neat washing up liquid works just fine for cutting through grease! Just squirt it into the still water 💧🍽️.
Just be careful when mixing acids and bases together. Depending on your detergent you could create chlorine gas.
😉
I worked with chemicals for years and you are absolutely right!!
I just use a pumper. I does not cost anything! And ut works very well!
🙌👍
Salt and Pepper makes a nice addition for your culinary pleasure.
🤣
That's work but the Same boiling hot 🔥 water does the job good too😊
Boiling hot water is effective too, but this method ensures the stench disappears completely 🌿👍.
I'm thank you l am yrying now in my bathroom drain
🤣
💕
Thank you, this experience will also be useful.
💕😉
The vinegar plus baking soda neutralize each other. You copy all the same. It's an acid plus a base, equal to nothing.
Lol it's presented like you are going to bake a cake.
😒
Thank you very much for this info, but is it for only cleaning the drain, what about blockage, or it does both?
👍🙌
It will clear the blockage too. Once I had a shower tray very slow to drain, I poured in a cup of baking soda, then a cup of white vinegar and left it for approximately 30mins then poured a large jug (about 2 pints) of hot water and it worked well.
Why so very slow?
Why so very slow?... Our method may be slower, but it gets the job done thoroughly and without any stench! 🚿👃.
You can use baking soda. It works perfectly well.
You're right! Baking soda is a great natural solution for keeping drains clean and odor-free. 🌿👍
@@CleanMasterHome I use it all the time. You can put an open box in your fridge to keep it smelling good too.😁
Wow thats 4 minutes of my life ill never get back
😒
You mean you didn't learn a thing?!
@@CleanMasterHome 👍😉
Seems more like 4 hours
I think the swirling action while adding the dish soap to the glass is key.
That and "how" you pour it into the bowl.
I'll keep that swirling action in mind next time I clean my drain! 🌀🧼
Or you could pour some hydrogen peroxide down the drain about once a week before you go to bed. Or some household bleach followed by lemon juice.
👍😉
If you have a septic tank you have to be careful because the bacteria in the tank needs to stay alive or wastes will clog it up and clog up leach field . Add bacteria to the septic tank every 3 months or sooner if you see a slow drain and the P traps are not clogged then your septic tank needs cleaned or bacteria added
Excelente idea, gracias te veo desde Asuncion Paraguay 🇵🇾😊
¡Qué bueno que te gustó! ¡Espero que sigas disfrutando de los resultados! 🌟👍.
You make it look like a cooking video... 😅
🤣🙌
😁😁😁😁
It's the music too.
Ingredientes: 100 ml de detergente.
01 colher (sopa) de sal grosso.
100 ml de vinagre.
Misture td muito bem, coloque bicarbonato no ralo, depois joguei a mistura aos poucos....
Great tip! This mixture works wonders for keeping drains clean and fresh 🌟👍.
Was this in slow motion
😒
@@CleanMasterHome haha sorry man. It was relaxing then!
Very good it's work very well thanx you
Glad to hear it worked well for you! Happy cleaning! 💪🧼.
Can you do this any slower?
🤷♀️👍
Lol
ADHD much? 😁😁😁
Would placing this mixture into a dishwasher work as well there?
Placing the mixture in a dishwasher may not be as effective as manually cleaning the drain in this case! 😉🚰.
Coca-cola is the beste!
😉
Why are you torturing the people .?😅
Why are you torturing the people? Just trying to help clean up the stench!👍🏼
@@CleanMasterHomeGracias por la sugerencia. 👍Por favor, no responda a las majaderías. Si a la gente no le gusta su video, que no lo vea. Saludos. 🙋♀️
Reminded me of a cooking video... Made me want to get a glass of wine. 😊
It's always good to have a glass of wine while cleaning! 🍷.
Better if you talk and explain each step.
I'll make sure to include a step-by-step explanation in my next video 👍.
No don't! Stick to your format. The beauty of your video's is that you don't need to understand English to follow it.
@@Boyleman100 Except that the captions are in English. 👀
WHY? YOU CAN SEE WHAT HES DOING??! UNLESS ONE IS BLIND, ITS PRETTY DAMN CLEAR
Videos allow audio for a reason. USE IT!
I’ve always just used baking soda and pour in vinegar. Follow with boiling water after 30 minutes.
I'll definitely give your method a try next time! 👍💦
Why do we need a 3:47 vid for this???
We wanted to show you the full process and results! Hope you found it helpful 🚿👃.
Adding vinegar (acid) to baking soda (alkaline) creates an inert compound. Use vinegar OR bakinging soda, but not both at the same time.
Adding vinegar or baking soda separately will both effectively clean the drain. Enjoy the fresh scent! 😊
