      Wow so this actually works? I may have to try this tomorrow when the water finally goes out. My cousins destroyed the drain. It was working fine a week ago. An than came back from the lake and they got it so disgusting that it takes HOURS to drain like nearly 24 hours. I spent at least 8 hours in the bathroom taking a plunger hoping it would go down. An it rarely ever did. So I got tired of doing that and just put a roll of paper towels into it to soak all that nasty water up. I can't wait to try this out. Hopefully a clown doesn't get me at the end of that drain lol

      What is the point of plugging the socket?

  • @musiqman7
    @musiqman7 9 лет назад +17

    This worked well. I bought an "old school" plunger ($2.67 at Walmart) and think I found an effective solution to the "rag in a bag" plug for the vertical opening under the faucet. I used three strips of Gorilla tape, however duct tape might be as effective, over the hole after removing the chrome plated cover. In doing so I was able to generate maximum pressure for breaking up the clog.
    On some tubs the device under the faucet serves a dual function: drain stopper and air intake. On my tub, it is simply for air intake to allow the water to drain more quickly from the tub. That said, once you believe you've effectively cleared the clog, the rate of draining will increase once the tape, or plug, is removed from the hole beneath the faucet.

I watched your video yesterday and last night, to help things along, poured Dawn dish soap and hot water to work overnight. This AM, it took a few tries with the plunger, but busted open the clog!!!! I am guilty of having used too many solid state products… bar soap, coconut oil, Shea butter, etc. Will now not apply those in the shower! The least amount of bar soap and will treat weekly with Dawn, hot water and the plunger!! Thank you again!!

    Thanks for the video and the tip to plug "the other hole" before plunging. I have a different kind of shower drain stopper and put in drainer goo remover (bacteria/enzyme-based), too, six hours before applying the plunger. Worked like a charm. (Apparently my new hair conditioner is the culprit!)

    Thank you, sir. I can't remember the last time I heard my tub draining sound like that. It sounded like a mini whirlpool or something. That plunger tip worked almost immediately.

    I have one of those plungers with the lip on the bottom that wouldn’t let me get a good seal in the tub.
    Plunging the toilet worked!
    But all credit goes to you for showing me I could seal that one part with a washcloth and bag. Thanks dude!
