2:32 This kid is one reason why when people rag on his generation, they are so wrong! AND, this is one reason I'm not afraid for the future. Millennials and Zoomers are the best educated generation we've ever had in the USA. Sure they'd like to work in closets away from people...but they're smart and can articulate their ideas very well. how many of our generation (Gen-X, BTW) would put out some kind of report on how to double the gear ratio on a transfer case, much less produce a video detailing the process? As long as they keep using their talents for good and not storming a capitol or something, we're going to be okay.
I am glad I ran into your video, I am new to working on jeeps and am the proud owner of an 89 yj and I love to get creative also and your video has opened up an area to me that I find very interesting and will be experimenting with some of my own ideas also.
Thankyou for the video I've been reading about doing this for a long time but I'm a very visual learner. Seeing this made alot more sense!, liked and subscribed!
How well has that set up worked for you over the last 10 months? I stumbled upon this by accident with great timing as i wanted to do a rubicon swap on my 06 lj. Hreat video. Curious as to durability. Thank you
So I looked at the website the deal with the bolt pattern. There were two options a "hex" 6 bolt and an offset 6 bolt? So maybe there was a mix up.. kit seems pretty cool and 500 is a good value
That adapter looks like it's for the Chevy 203 205 doubler. If i ever 350 my Cherokee im going old school with everything. Have you done frame stiffeners yet. Liked and subbed
Sweet looking mod, but after using some farming equipment vehicles, this " double low" is still pretty fast compared to tractors.far better than stock for sure.
Thanks for the vid. Does it give you the ability to put it in just front wheel drive? I really want to do this mod and I have the extra t-cases kicking around but unfortunately I own a TJ. I don't think it's possible without moving the rear axle back a bunch and then I'd probably have to move the fuel tank too.
unfortunately no i don’t believe you can’t select front and rear with a chain style case without lots of modification. and yeah it’s a long setup it would be tough in a tj
Just had a crazy idea watching your video.... keep the original 4wd output shaft on the front case and adapt it to be a PTO for a York or Sanden compressor for some on board air! I wonder if it can be done... maybe that case needs to be flipped 180° but I bet it'd work.
@@gageboysgarage6059 unfortunately I don't even have a 4wd 😂 hopefully one day... just a Subaru Impreza right now. I've been hooked on the idea of overlanding since the first XO videos
@@gageboysgarage6059 looks like you might be able to hook as many range boxes as you want if you were looking for stump pulling power 😅 lol . Just imagine 4 of them hooked together .

This kit looks sweet, I think I will be using it. How does the fluid work with the new extra planetary assembly? Do you just use the regular fill and drain plugs on the main case and it fills the planetary?
@@gageboysgarage6059 well I do appreciate your reply I did do some research for my application I will need a 1310 to 1350 conversion joint and then a double cardan flange I appreciate it though 👍
If there’s play in the bolts in the adapter plate before tightening it up all the way put all 6 in then tighten it up. May just need to shift over a bit
@@gageboysgarage6059 I am asking because I'm trying to figure out whether to do a dual transfer case or change the gears in my axles. I'm trying to go with a Overlander type build with big tires
YOU REMIND ME OF WHEN I WAS 20+YEARS YOUNG DOING EVERYTHING BY MYSELF. THAT WAS 40 +YEARS AGO!
i love comments like this thanks for watching

Im enlighten to the dual transfer case conversion, ive read heaps About them, now i know
thanks for watching I am still running this setup works great
This made me smile, thank you.
Tho if i tried this on my tj the rear axle would basically be bolted to the transfer case.
Haha you are probably right
Hey whats the total length on that transfer case set up?

possibly i got sent the wrong one

no there are separate plugs for the other case. they are filled separately
Will this upgrade work for a manual AX15 transmission too ? the T-cases are slightly different
yes i think so !
Thanks for making me spend my money 🙃!
no problem 😂😂
How did your trans crossmember work with the front driveshaft did you have any clearance issues when the Jeep is at full droop on the driver side
a little bit yes, i had to notch it for the driveshaft
How much axle drop do you have. Have you found any clearance issues for the driveshaft hitting the trans member at full droop?
i have tons of droop with a 4link on the back of this jeep, i haven’t had any clearance issues though
@@gageboysgarage6059 I think he meant the front driveshaft, I was worried about that too
I see 2 exhaust pipes there... What motor is in front of all of this? :)
toyota v8 you should check the video on the channel about it!!
Is a second crossmember needed? Doing a little more research before i buy the kit!
no the second crossmember for me is my 4 link crossmember
Do you daily your rig?
Also how do you like that IRO 3 link?
love everything iro, and i used this as a daily for years but not anymore tires are to expensive
Awesome video thank you. I did want to know what flange is that?
unfortunately im not sure it is a 1350 flange tho

There wasn't any play in the adapter. Definitely not enough to get the sixth bolt in.
Man that sucks.. I figured the bolts would’ve been a tad smaller then the holes in the adapter
What was the total length of the complete doubler setup?
i believe it added 10”
Can we get a link of where to buy the kit?
it is in the description
the reason the bolt didn't go in is the plate is clocked wrong turn it to the right one hole
tried that didn’t work
Would you trust the adapter for daily driving and road trips?
oh definitely, i have a tent and camp, i have daily drove the jeep since the swap
Any vibrations on the highway?
not at all
Isn’t the problem with this swap that it’s to long for a tj not a lj
it might be to long for a tj. i’m not sure though
What gear ratio are you running in your axles?
4.88s currently
And are you rocking 37 1450s tires
@@gageboysgarage6059 I am asking because I'm trying to figure out whether to do a dual transfer case or change the gears in my axles. I'm trying to go with a Overlander type build with big tires
Can this be done in a jk
i believe the jk has the same bolt pattern but i’m not sure about spline compatibility , i’m sure if can be done though
How much did this cost? Did you need new driveshafrs
yes i had my driveshafts rear done, it cost about 450$ for the transfercase
I just added a rubicrawler.
nice!
