Great video !! Very helpful , the more people knowing how to maintain their forged wheels the better!
Thanks brother. This is something that needs MAJOR awareness
Great video in the market for new rims not sure chrome or mirror finish .
Just have to way out the pros and cons for your budget. Chrome is easier to clean but they start to pit in the long run. Polished looks amazing but is a decent amount to keep them clean. In my opinion polished is worth the money since as long as you regularly wash and throw a good had polish on you they’ll last forever
Thanks man. I’m saving this video for later. I wish I could buy a nice truck but it’ll have to wait until I’m finished with college. I can’t wait to be apart of the truck game!
My question is, how often should I hand polish them? Does it hurt the wheel to polish them say every few months?
You'll get there and for sure have the truck that you want. I would wash and hand polish them every other week depending on how much you drive. No you can polish them as much or as little as you want. Hand polishing every few weeks after a good wash is key
great video🤘🏼
Thanks man!
What would you recommend to wash / degrease the wheels for weekly washes for American forces
Any kind of a ph neutral soap. Nothing with acid or strong bases. Chemical guys makes some good stuff you can get off your local auto parts store. I also have another video of unboxing detailing products (including soap) from renegade.
How would you maintain a American force brushed finish wheel?
Just throw on some non acidic soap and water. Chemical guys has some ph neutral soap that is great
I polished my truck wheels. What do you recommend just to maintain them not polishing all the time
Zephyrs pro 25 and some micro fiber towels.
So does humidity level matter at all for handy polishing wheels? I did one wheel tonight around 7pm with 80% humidity outside and it looked a little cloudy yet. I sprayed glass cleaner because I know that helps get rid of residue sometimes too but didn't do much. Just curious on if that makes a difference or not
Yeah the humidity could play a role. I live down in Florida so it’s always very hot and humid but it also depends on how much polish you used and how much pressure you applied when you put it on
@@thekolbyward That was my guess for sure! MN’s humidity sucks a lot lol. Well, I’ll just do the best I can with’em! Gonna send them off to my buddy here in July to have him do his show shine magic
What do use to get the brake dust in the back on a forged wheel?
Acid wheel cleaner from renegade called mag n wire
Would the sticky citrus work as well or what would you use that for more? Last thing, you didn't mention it but what do you use to clean the tires and to give them shine?
So the chemical guys citrus spray is safe to use on my fuel forged wheels?, I just got them 3 weeks ago and I’ve washed them with water a few times but they’re getting a bit cloudy
Yes I recommend that and a nice hand polish right after and you will be good to go
I have well water at my house and it’s hard to keep mine clean. What you recommend if you was in my situation
He said you can use the waterless spray he showed it in the beginning of the video 👍🏻
Yes sir!
The waterless wash is a pretty good go to
What soap is best to use when washing your rims ?
Any kind of ph neutral soap is fine
Would you recommend clear coating on forces?
Ceramic coating**
Not at all. Ceramic coating over time yellows and makes the polishing process a nightmare for a polisher. It makes more work because of having to sand clear off the wheels before polish which means you spending more money. Just a quick wash and hand polish every other week would be ideal
Is the chemical guys metal polish good for some forged wheels
Really? I’ll have to check that stuff out for sure!
So I can’t use like a normal wheel cleaner ? Such as like adams wheel and tire cleaner or something along those lines ?
You can, you just have to look at the ph level and make sure it’s not going to hurt your wheels.
That Adams cleaner is high PH and will fuck up the look of aluminum wheels.
