Please watch my tutorial on making cardstock keychains to see how I designed and edited in Design Space and added the circle loops for our earring hardware.
• Making Cardstock Keych...
I printed images at 2 inches in height. And each earring is a total of 4 cardstock layers. 2 printed images and 2 inner layers.
I used UV resin to add epoxy like coating on cardstock earrings. Total curing time 20 mins each side

❤️❤️❤️
Please use gloves when dealing with resin ..but I'm sure you know now since this was a year ago
What sizes are these
About three and a half inches
What size did you make the whole
the edges are messy
They actually aren't. But if they were they could be painted , colored with alcohol inks or sanded. Thanks for the comment
Thanks for sharing
Yes ma’am I too am working on my PhD in crafting 😅love these earrings ! ✨💖
Thank you so much for sharing your process! I am currently trying to make some myself and I’m having trouble with the layers coming apart. I assume being more careful with the glue will help. I was also wondering if you do the edges with the us resin? Having trouble with doing that as well.
What type of card stock
Is that picture paper regular paper?
My resin is still tacky, even after being under the lamp for awhile, why is thst?
Love them
Thank you for sharing I am scare of the epoxy But this is easy to use not all of the mixing
You’re welcome 😊I try to stay away from having to measure and mix epoxy whenever possible. this cures so much faster as well
These are so cute, does the UV resin have a smell? and are they earrings sturdy ?
They are extremely sturdy! And yes it has a smell. I'd use a mask when working with any chemicals
thanks for the tut...awesome idea they are sooo cute! I have 1 question which do you recommend laser jet printer or inkjet
I prefer inkjet
How did you brush it on the cardstock? I hope it's later in the video or you have another video showing the details for application on front and back side but the edges as well.
And you have different resin on link
Does this method work if you're making ypur own designs?
Great question. Yes it will
Question I just got a Cricuit Machine how does the Machine know to cut around the printed imagine if you have to print the image from another printer and what kind of printer and paper do you need sorry alot of question complete newbie thanks
You can send your picture from the Cricut design Space software to any printer. Design space will create registration marks around you picture that allow it to recognize where and what to cut. I used an HP Officejet 8610 and 110lb cardstock
@@ACraftyMess Thanks for the info very helpful
I love the idea of this whole earring make!! I have a couple questions.
Are the plain white cut outs you show the only pieces with a hole for the earring loop? Or do all the layers have them?
What do you use to hold the layers together before the resin?
Thank for your help!
All layers have the hole so they will be sturdy and easily line up. I used Art Glitter Glue for the adhesive. Check out my other videos where I made a pair of earrings
What type of cardstock do you use? I tried with 60 pound and it didnt work.
I use 110lb cardstock preferably.
Did it Curl or shrink?
Hiya I love these gonna make some thanks for the video. Can you tell me where you got the svg with the head wrap? I've been looking all over for it.
Feathers of style on Etsy. Check them out. Great graphics
How did you design with the hole in the top?
ruclips.net/video/Mni621yWvfk/видео.html this video shows how to make holes
What do you use to apply the uv resin
Mostly toothpick or popsicle stick
Hi. Do you put the resin on the sides as well ?
Yes I do. Just repeat the same steps on the other side
For the earrings and bookmarks can I use a image from the internet instead of purchasing
Yes you can. ❤
@@ACraftyMess could you please do a tutorial of how from beginning to end with the steps I’m still learning and would like to add to my collection
Please check my channel. I have another tutorial showing the process
I thought it could cure in less time? Other videos I've seen using the lamp they did 3 minutes per side...now I'm confused lol
Could've cured in less time but I am super impatient. I left it and came back to it. Epoxy takes 24 hrs to dry to touch and up to 4 days to fully cure. I did 15-20 mins each side.
@@ACraftyMess thank you. I made my own today and you're right 15-20 mins per side was much needed LOL
Cool so it wasnt just my OCD LOL. I can't wait for sh!t
It depends on the type of UV Resin you are using … I make epoxy resin eyes, so I buy a Japanese brand UV resin that cures within 60 seconds. The cheaper the resin the longer (& more smelly) the cure times are. I have bought at least 20+ resins over the last 6 years trying to find the perfect one ☺️
Where did you get your svg images?
FruttiColors on Etsy
Absolutely beautiful.
So is this better than triple thick?
Triple thick takes less time to dry but the UV resin provides a much better finish. It's very shiny. Just like epoxy but without the mixing
Thank for a quick reply, I'll see where I can get it here in London. Thanks again they are fabulous x
@@Kssweetcakes thank you! Try Amazon, AliExpress or Wish. Search UV Resin. You should have lots of choices
That look so easy thanks 😊
❤️
Does it matter what color cardstock you use when you're doing a project like that
Not for the inside layers. But you'll want to use white for your image so they pop when you print them
@@ACraftyMess I love them but how do you do the layers to cut out???
@@beebeej1 duplicate your picture and change to print and cut. It will create the shape outline to build your layers
@@ACraftyMess thank you so much!
@@beebeej1 you're welcome
What are the in-between layers of the resin earrings?
Cardstock paper
❤it
Thank you so much
Sorry for all the questions.
How many layers would you recommend ?
I recommend 5 or 6 to start...add more or less depending on paper thickness
