About 10 years ago, Fedor stopped using his Sambo and his throws and kicks and relied purely on head hunting. This was when he started losing (although Werdum, Henderson and Bigfoot were PED and TRT users, so those 'losses' have an asterisk). Prime Fedor, using his full skillset was unbeatable. He would make short work of Miocic.
I think the Henderson loss was questionable. Fedor took repeated hits to the head from 7 foot giants and never got knocked out, how did a guy who was smaller than him knock him out
Agreed, mine as well...As far as C.S. is concerned,my opinion was mixed at best..However I recently went back and rewatched a lot of his fights and have discovered a new found respect for him..
Wagner Santos he sorta has the strangest stand up I’ve ever seen with those crazy hooks he throws. He will throw like 7 in a row right at the head while he just runs his feet at the person across from him. I don’t know how it works. Hahahaha
Fedor is always so goddamned relaxed inside the octagon it's scary.... and another thing, is how he throws guys to the ground like it ain't no thing i swear, it's like sometimes it looks like he throws guys down to the ground with 1 arm only Fedor is bad ass
it's not calm/relaxed. mfer is cold blooded. same as a viper. no emotion; just poised for a lethal strike and waiting for the prey to come just a little closer. Fedor's style has always reminded me of an apex predator; watch how crocodile or vipers hunt.
Fedor's corner was so chill after the fight was over that it looked like they were just between rounds. No high fives or jumping around or yelling. I guess that's what it looks like when winning becomes business as usual.
Fedor: Never took any drugs. Very inconspicuous in his abilities and power for a bigger fighter. Incredibly humble. Incredibly agile for 230 pounds, even in older age. Fought and beat basically everyone. In my opinion, this man is the greatest mma fighter of all time.
beautybymelxoxo Just because his muscles were not bulging doesn't mean he wasn't taking PEDs. Royce Gracie, Ben Rothwell, Josh Barnett, Tim Sylvia all failed drug test with non athletic bodies. Matter of fact Fedor's protege baby fedor has a body very similar to Fedor and he was busted for PEDs.
@@jongraves3097 thank you, someone who actually understands how steroids work, Jesus the amount of ppl that back up Fedor with the fact he doesn't look buff, pride didn't test and there's lots of rumors out there he has. I don't know but the fact he never tires and at his age still isn't declining has me wondering...
Fedor's technique is mind boggling. Those casting punches are so ridiculously effective and it's pretty much all he does from a striking perspective. No one else punches like that I wonder why others haven't followed suit.
Sonnens last "hoorah" was that fight with Silva, after that he wasn't the same. Much respect for both, i still admire Chaels heart. Man did not stop coming forward 💪
did you see where he trains? he still trains in like the first gym the kid goes to where some grandpa with cigarette in his mouth tells you the basics of 30's boxing. basically how Rocky trained - by chopping wood and hitting pigs and running in knee deep snow.

Chael is one of the toughest dudes ever in this sport. Win or loss you know you were fighting. Much respect. Especially against the best heavyweight ever
I had Chael winning on points for most of the fight. Until Fedor saw that Chael was sponsored by Dude Wipes, then he thought "Why can't you just use regular toilet paper like a normal Man." This was when Fedor became enraged and took out 70+ years of pent up Slavic aggression on this American agitator.
It's hard to hear above the crowd, but somebody off-camera (maybe Chael's corner) calls for a "front flip" right before Chael goes for the roll. It was a HUGE mistake, and I respect Chael for not blaming somebody else after the fight. I don't think it was his idea, even if he did go for it. It makes me wonder if that spinning elbow against Anderson was bad corner advice too...
@@subliteral1380 I mean then youd also have to wonder if all the good things he did in the octagon was from good corner advice. The job of the corner is to tell you things. But you don't fight nobody
@Claudio Cadalço Investimento Imobiliário you must be talking about a different chael sonnen. Check your facts. Undefeated and undisputed
@Claudio Cadalço Investimento Imobiliário someone's upset
Fedor was unbeatable on his Championship run in Pride, Incredible thing to watch
@Poppy Weller even quicker than some of the lighter weights lol
Pride was the best thing in my honest opinion, Politics and corruption ruined it great organization I still have all the Bushido series the grand prix stuff favorite fighters were rampage Jackson, Shogun hua, and yoshida
@Ad Ga exactly!
He went 9 years and 10 months without a single defeat against dudes who were uing steroids, opiates, and speed. Yeah, he's legit the GOAT!
on ALL the steroids lol
About 10 years ago, Fedor stopped using his Sambo and his throws and kicks and relied purely on head hunting. This was when he started losing (although Werdum, Henderson and Bigfoot were PED and TRT users, so those 'losses' have an asterisk). Prime Fedor, using his full skillset was unbeatable. He would make short work of Miocic.
I think the Henderson loss was questionable. Fedor took repeated hits to the head from 7 foot giants and never got knocked out, how did a guy who was smaller than him knock him out
@@holliswilliams8426 because Hendo is a beast dude hits as hard as a heavyweight

Fedor is a scary man, i just love this guy, one of my favorite mma fighters.
Agreed, mine as well...As far as C.S. is concerned,my opinion was mixed at best..However I recently went back and rewatched a lot of his fights and have discovered a new found respect for him..
I watched all Fedor 's matches in Pride on that time ,he was awesome.
Wagner Santos he sorta has the strangest stand up I’ve ever seen with those crazy hooks he throws. He will throw like 7 in a row right at the head while he just runs his feet at the person across from him. I don’t know how it works. Hahahaha

Yeah that I think was his strongest quality... he's frighteningly calm
it's not calm/relaxed. mfer is cold blooded. same as a viper. no emotion; just poised for a lethal strike and waiting for the prey to come just a little closer.
Fedor's style has always reminded me of an apex predator; watch how crocodile or vipers hunt.
This shows Chael’s toughness. Got tagged hard multiple times. But he never backed down. Kept moving forward. Gotta respect that
Forward and downwards.
Laying in the fetal position while the GOAT caves your head in isn't all that respectable

Amazing that Chael continues to win and yet donates rounds to people in need. A saint and a scholar.
A good effort by Chael.

Chael's career is insane when you think about it. He's fought three of the best to ever do it and beaten all three! Undefeated and undisputed!
Fedor's corner was so chill after the fight was over that it looked like they were just between rounds. No high fives or jumping around or yelling. I guess that's what it looks like when winning becomes business as usual.
they were not sure if it was a sell, or they didnt want to be overly estatic in the play?

Fedor: Never took any drugs. Very inconspicuous in his abilities and power for a bigger fighter. Incredibly humble. Incredibly agile for 230 pounds, even in older age. Fought and beat basically everyone.
In my opinion, this man is the greatest mma fighter of all time.
He is. Silva and Jones are steroid cheats. Only GSP and Fedor should be getting GOAT status at their divisions
They didn't drug test in Pride so how do you know Fedor wasn't taking any performance enhancers?
@@jongraves3097 his body isn't that of a roid user
beautybymelxoxo Just because his muscles were not bulging doesn't mean he wasn't taking PEDs.
Fedor's skill and sportsmanship are top drawer. A true legend.
Fedor is so chill, humble, unassuming and respectful to his opponents not to mention a legendary fighter it’s hard to root against this guy.
It’s a shame he got tko’d in the first round
Fedor's technique is mind boggling. Those casting punches are so ridiculously effective and it's pretty much all he does from a striking perspective.
No one else punches like that I wonder why others haven't followed suit.
Ur forgetting Anthony Johnson
4:26 great transition by the goat, Chael's chin broke Fedors fist right there.
