    Feels like a compromise to cram EV components in a car designed to have an engine. Like driving an after-thought. This review makes me more curious about the non-EV version.

      Avis shockingly had this for rent and I was upgraded since I rented EV and this was the only EV left on the lot. Would have preferred any other sedan once I had to put suitcases in. With the battery taking up space the trunk could barely hold any luggage. Severely compromised except as a in town cruiser. But then why do you need 280 miles of worth battery for in town?

      @markcoopers1930 10 месяцев назад +2

      Doesn't matter if buying a sedan, a classic sports car, a pickup truck or a minivan, the price point is the first thing to consider. Buying a 3 row SUV doesn't suddenly make an additional 20k appear in bank accounts. So if 80k isn't in the budget then it's perfectly painless- no one's forcing anyone to get it. If it is in the budget then there's no pain unless it's a bad car.

    • @auduffer
      @auduffer 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@markcoopers1930my thoughts exactly. If you're buying an $80,000 car then you can afford it or at least think you can. The process itself is price agnostic so if it's painless that's all the better.

    I was lucky to drive the GV60 and GV70 electrified. I liked them both, but I felt like the ride was a little stiff for a company that is going towards luxury. Also be careful if you turn off the safety systems, they will just spin tires all day. Other than that, they are great vehicles.

    I’m much prefer my Cadillac lyric all-wheel-drive to the Genesis G80. I visited a genesis gallery here in meatpacking district New York City. It’s right next to Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, and Fisker.
    The G80 is a decent car but it’s too small for my needs.
    I do like that Hyundai decided to simply turn an existing car into an electric vehicle - something that I wish Mercedes would do with the S class. Unfortunately, unless you’re a Tesla, you suffer from the exact same problem at all other electric vehicles do: everybody else is charging network sucks.
    Tesla is the best charging network.

    Sorry Roman, but 280 miles is not phenomenal. Not even close. In fact, any car with less than a 300 mi range is not ready for prime time, and I ignore completely. As far as I'm concerned, 300 mi is just the max range starting point.
    @3:29 Anyway, at 6'4 and mostly legs, I know exactly what you're talking about in terms of the low seat. Because the battery placement raises the floors, that cause your knees to point up. That position becomes fatiguing after a while especially on a long day trip. That inherent design limitation is just another reason EV don't appeal to me.

    Car reviewers need to disclose if they were paid to do this review and if anybody is reviewing the footage before it is posted. Even if nobody is it's nice to know.
    This feels like they paid them to review this car, way too positive and almost no negative things even though there are plenty of negative things.

    • @markcoopers1930
      @markcoopers1930 10 месяцев назад

      Heaven forbid something just be mostly good.
      The world isn't a balancing act. Every vehicle, home, appliance, or any other product isn't going to have an equal amount of positives and negatives. That's not how reality works, and it doesn't mean people are paid off.
      If there's a concern about the integrity then compare their review to other sources TSP, TH, SG, RR, KK, MM, or the legacies like MT, C&D, TG- there's countless. But I'm sorry to say you're going to see a similar conclusion almost anywhere. Genesis did a good job with this vehicle.
      If the goal is to throw objectivity out the window and only see a bad review just search specifically for a video trashing it, or make one and publish it.
