- This is the easiest cake you will ever make!! It is super moist and delicious too! It takes 5 minutes to prepare and another 25 minutes to bake! It keep well for several days too! I do know I could have used vegetable shortening to make a frosting, but I just don't like the taste of it that way...so canned frosting it was! Don't forget to watch all the other channels! Since I rairly have frosting in my pantry I would probably just sprinkle with powdered sugar or sprinkle choc chips on the hot cake and spread as a glaze. Possibly would add some chopped nuts on top of that. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Looks great! For shelf-stable icing, you could have gone with a glaze and used powdered sugar and shelf-stable milk. We don't tend to think about shelf-stable milk in the US but it's definitely available and used far more widely in other countries, especially where refrigeration is perhaps not the norm in a household. There are also quite a lot of Crisco based icings which may have worked as well.

The cake looks yummy! I think I'd try a simple glaze on top from powdered sugar, powdered milk, and water with some vanilla extract added for flavor (or perhaps some "True Orange" crystals instead of or in addition to the vanilla) :-)
