Indeed Mark Yeates is amazing! A whirlwind of great ideas.
Hi Pam, Binge watching Yeates Makes leaves me not knowing what to try first !! I will try and master the transfer method before moving on. 🥰
Yeates Makes is quite genius with Ideas and I love watching and following him!
Thanks Becky, I thought I was following him but haven't seen anything for a while.....thank you for the reminder XXX
When I was at school, we used to use old wallpaper to make slip covers for our exercise books and then make marks on them to personalise them out of one piece of wallpaper. All the best, John
Hi John, love that idea, I will give it a go, thank you 😊
Wonderful binge-worthy viewing. Love it. Also love Yeates Makes! Have you watched Gel With Mark? A genius. Also a Brit. Clever bunch you guys are! I smile at your light. Thank you 🙏
Hello Liz, what a wonderful comment 😊I will take a look at Gel with Mark, thank you 🥰
Excitement is to be had! Put that on a series of “you’re invited” cards! Love videos!
Nice homemade cover. You can stick the first and last pages down onto the front and back covers to hide the raw edges.
That's a great idea!
Phoenix, Arizona..First time fan and I love the content! Thank you!
Hello Linda in Phoenix, a warm Welcome and thank you for taking time to comment 🥰
And now 5k subs!! Congrats from Oklahoma USA ❤😚❤
Thank you so much for your support 🥰 Have a wonderful week XX
Love your book cover, thank you for sharing. I hope your channel really grows because you so deserve it.
Hello June, such kind words, heartfelt thanks 🥰
I'm so thrilled you've found Yeats Makes! He's been one of my fave artists forever! You won't believe the patience he demonstrates in some of his videos, he so inspires me! As you always do you, too, Gaynor!!
Hi Deanna, How are you ? I have watched a few Yeats back to back and think I need to try and master one thing at a time !!! He makes it all look so easy 🥰
@@gaynorpattle I know! His videos are time lasped so we see him very quickly accomplishing something in about 5 minutes which is detailed and so tedious looking that I would have pulled my hair out and thrown the painting across the room in frustration and never finished!! lol
@@gaynorpattle There's another Brit I watch who you might get a big kick out of, Helen Wells Artist, whose style is a tiny bit similar in some ways to your paintings, she uses more bright pinks, reds, blues etc.than you do, but her art is very decorative, fun, and happy work like yours is! And her personality ~ Quite dramatic and fun to watch!
@@deannahall2032 😂😂😂
@@deannahall2032 Thanks Deanna, I will take a look 🥰
I love the mad scientist process of colour mixing!
Hi Alisa, It just comes naturally 😂 🥰
Maybe you could try the plastic file dividers for your stencils. They work well and last forever.
Thank you Caryl, I will make a note 😊
And I LOVE your prints on the Gelli, especially the yellow card! Stunning print!!
Thank you 🥰
Once again a fantastically informative, beautiful, energizing, chaotic, productive instalment. Thank you Gaynor for being a ray of sunshine in a passing winter storm here in southern Ontario Canada.
Great to know where your kindness is coming from....I've found you on the world map ! 😍
I saw someone recently who used a stone as a baren! Cool idea! I'm going to get one at the beach.😊❤love your videos 😂
Heartfelt thanks and have a lovely day 🥰
I love all ypu have demonstrated. I especiaally love your echinacea/corn flowers you paint them so beautifully. Mixing colours is a real minefield to get exactly what yr trying to achieve. great video Gaynor and as always very interesting. Thankyou.❤❤❤
Thank you Andrea, thank you for watching and taking time to leave a great comment X
Hi Gaynor, I admire your work and the lovely way you explain everything so thoroughly BUT please dont do loads of shorts.😃 Many people are unsubscribing all over RUclips and I have deleted a couple myself. They are so annoying and not at all instructive. Please let me know what you think. Meanwhile I look forward to your next tuitorial. Thank you🤗🙋♀️👩🎨😘
Hi Sylvie, Thank you for taking time to comment and for giving your thoughts on "shorts" ..... I had hoped that they would help me reach a wider audience but I do have my doubts. I am in the mindset of "I've started so I must continue" 😂I could give myself one less thing to think about ! 😊
I really enjoyed seeing the process ,,love your videos,,,,and I’m in South California, city of San Clemente…
Hello Veronica, thank you for taking time to comment, lovely to know where you are from. Have a great week 🥰
Elizabeth St Hillaire is a knowledgeable gel printer too…I watch Yeats Mates as well
Hello Nancy, I will take a look, thank you 😊
I just LOVE ❤ your artwork and exploration, excavation, innovation…..all the creative ‘ations’…..Amazing! Gosh….I could watch you make art for hours! Thank you so much for your videos 🙏
I’ve used copy paper cut out masks before but I seal them with a heavy body gel medium first, then use them over and over, let them dry when finished and then put them away for another day. Also, they become so beautiful with all the layers of paint I can use them in a finished painting.
You just have to be careful when you paint on the first coat of gel….if they are delicate masks.
Happy Painting ❤
Hi Teresa... just having a tea break and what could be more lovely than opening the laptop and reading your wonderful message - a very smiley thing indeed 😃I am collecting up top tips from subscribers regarding gel work and yours is fantastic - can I quote you, when I give it a whirl ? 😍
@@gaynorpattle
Hi Lovely Lady 🤗
Yes of course you can quote me….anything….to help your Amazing Artistic endeavour! Just love all your experiments and results ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️
I forgot to say ….let acrylic medium dry on your cut out masks and stencils before you use them….I’m sure you realised that but just making sure lol.
@@teresaedwards4175 Thank you 🙏
So enjoyed this video, Thanks!
🥰
Thanks as always Gaynor, boosted by your infectious creativity, I am girding my loins and gathering my stuff to go out and paint xx.
This makes me smile.....what and where are you painting ?
I paint in the beautiful Welsh Valley where I live, there's a huge hillside opposite the house with a forestry plantation, lovely stone walls, green vally below of fields and sheep, I am very fortunate, we also have a wild woodland garden.
@@anitajones7804 WOW....my imagination is working over time !!! 😍
From the north shore of Lake Erie in Canada.....love your channel...so inspiring :)
Hi Deborah, I think it's time to put a world map on my wall ! Thank you for taking time to comment 😀
Enjoyed watching the transfer method with the gel plate - may have to try this! I look forward to seeing how your paintings progress. Have a lovely week Gaynor! 😊
You will LOVE it !!! 🥰
Another lovely video Gaynor. You can cut stencils from something called Mylar which I believe you can purchase in different thicknesses. It’s quite reasonably priced too. I love your enthusiasm at the beginning of the video😂 The videos are a joy to watch. 💐
Hi Fiona, I have heard of Mylar and will add it to my list, thank you 🥰 The sun is shining here this morning and I'm looking forward to some experiments in the cabin ! I hope you have a fantastic weekend 🧡
@@gaynorpattle thank you. You too. I look forward to seeing what you get up to😊Enjoy💐
Hi Gaynor. Try using the plastic divisions that you find in files. You know the ones with the little tabs that stick out. They can then also be washed and reused. The other alternative is to draw your design onto lamination sheets, laminate and then cut them out. Love watching your videos. Inspiring and genuine!
Hi Beverley, Fantastic advice, I can't wait to have a go ..... THANK YOU.....can I mention you in a video when I try this out ? 🥰
@@gaynorpattle Yes, absolutely!🥰
@@beverleystrachan1205 Thank You
Hi why dont you blend whith a palettknife??? But I Love lots of your art. ❤
Hello Viveka, sometimes I do and then I just go with what is in my hand 😂 I have limited tools on my kitchen table at the moment ! 🥰
Demo starts at 7:33 minutes
Five months late, but … for the Gel Plate, I cut my stencils from acetates and I use water colour paper for my pulls.
Hello Philna, I tried using watercolour paper today and it buckled a little bit ? What weight do you use? 😊
Hi Gaynor - I cannot recall, but I think it was 350 gsm (it has been a while).
I have used many different types of paper from tissue and newsprint paper to multimedia paper and card stock for Gel prints - I do, however, only pull A4 size prints.
The thinner paper pulls are mostly torn for use in collages, where it doesn't matter if is it buckling.
Also - ArtWhisperer88 is another interesting channel for large Gel Prints - you may want to use your fast-forward though ☺
@@philnasmith9755 Thank you Philna, and I will take a look at ArtWhisperer 88 ! 😊
Maybe the colour GOLD from AMSTERDAM fits for this purpose.
Hi Karin, I will give it a go...Thank You 🥰
This is cracking me up because I was going to suggest that you watch Yeates Makes cause he is sooooo amazing with the gel plate, lol😮
In a league of his own, I'd say X
Gel plate please
great tutorial
Unlike you who uses good quality paper, i never do. I only use 150gm office card which is so cheap you can by a pack of A4 for £3. Her in SA it costs about R60. Piles and piles to play with.
