      Crypto is essentially just an interesting tech with plenty of potential, being abused for scams since its so relatively new and ungoverned. Its a wild west that needs to be learned and tamed.

      I'm convinced the whole concept was developed to create the current dark web as we know it. With some good branding, they managed to get enough people on board to give it value in the fiat world, making it a viable currency for people needing to anonymously move monetary value around.
      Satoshi Nakamoto could be a God among men if he came forward. Fame, money, power, basically everything everyone wants, he could have with a single tweet, yet he remains anonymous. It makes you wonder, what's keeping him silent?

    • @jimmy5516
      @jimmy5516 2 года назад +6

      Dont sleep on it. Crypto in concept is actually quite fascinating. Just a ton of people taking advantage of the unknown and people FOMOing which results in these scams happening. Its like with phishing emails. Before, a lot of people fell for them but now overtime even the elderly people start to understand whats going on and so wont fall for them. Hopefully in the future there is going to be a way to stop the scammers and actually create a nice way for crypto instead of a gamble you take today.

    So, if I understand the Pump and Dump (edit: meant Rugpull, but oh well) model correctly, it's essentially like starting your own paper currency, backing it with a bunch of something valuable (like gold), convincing people to invest in your paper currency via trading in their valuables, then cleaning out the treasury of the original, backing amount, and whatever others traded in; making the paper currency essentially not backed by anything, and leaving the investors with worthless paper.

      Paper currency holds value because of taxation. The govt prints the supply and to create demand they invent taxation.
      This has always been money in central banking regardless if the money was pegged to gold or not.
      We figured out after WW2 that limiting ones money supply limits their economic activity hence the decoupling and the creation of the petrodollar to keep the US dollar the global currency and propping it up with more demand.

      PnD are rarely if ever backed by commodities (such as gold).
      Usually they sell a concept and either fail to deliver or the concept is fundamentally worthless.
      Or they just create a token that is overtly a PnD (think tokens with names like ObamaSonic10SquidAmogus) and people join in, hopefully knowingly, and play a game of the longer you stay the more you earn but the riskier it gets.

    I mean, you can't make judgements on crypto or any type of trading just off of 3,6 or even 9 months of performance. Everything has it's ups and downs. In the normal stock market, bear markets can last up to around 15 months at longest, at least on average. Crypto has always been known to be volatile. Just like any type of trading, it you can't afford to lose it, don't gamble it on trading or investing. With that said, I made over 10,000 off of trading Ethereum. (Yes I filed it on my taxes) However, scamcoins like this, I can't even fathom how one can even consider for a second that it's even possibly a good idea. Whoever spends even a penny on this might as well just donate money to the homeless instead. If you don't care what happens to your money, at least do something with it that will help others who need it.
