The man standing behind the falsetto is my grandfather, he passed away yesterday. He was 81. Love you Grandad!
Aww sorry to hear, your grandad was a great talent ❤ may he R.I.P. 🙏🏾
Rest in Peace to a legend and a piece of history!
Sorry to hear that. Hope you have some more great remembrances like this. How cool to be part of it.
Rest in peace to your grandfather.
Rest In Peace
Love that the biggest dude is the falsetto😁
it looks so effortless
degree7 makes sense lol
My sentiment exactly! a la, Aaron Neville.
Just like Barry, of the Bee Gees.
Me too! And it’s so effortless! ♥️😍
Was NOT expecting THAT guy to do the falsetto, i absolutely would have thought he would be the bass guy.
I never get tired of this song.
Same 😂
Fun fact this song is the shortest song to top the billboard charts
Even shorter than The Letter by The Box Tops??
The falsetto is amazing
oldies music always makes me feel happy. I think of better times then the world we live in now.
One of the best doowop songs ever
I was not expecting that guy to deliver the high part
This is the song that I (a 16 yr old boy at the time) would ask my (cute as a button) 14 year neighbor to dance at high school sock hops!
This past Monday we celebrated our 58th Wedding anniversary!
I have asked her to have the (looped longer version) played as my coffin is wheeled out to the hearse!
❤ 😂 Love It!
congratulations
Woooooow congratulations 🎉🎉
The brother in the back is the most joyful about what he's doing.
Spectacular falsetto .. incredíble
I hear this and it is 1960 all over again.
God this song is painfully short!! Too good to last 2 minutes
Omg that falsetto singer is amazing and gorgeous! 😍😍😍
Damn, music used to be something that just hits you right in the gut! These boys were 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Maurice Williams and The Zodiacs played at my husbands 1967 Prom! They were awesome!
Still listening in 2023
Fantastic, love the falsetto
Gosh ! It's been decades since I've seen the faces of Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs ! They preformed often in our area near Myrtle Beach, SC. When I think of beach music and beach bands, Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, is the first band that comes to mind ! When they performed at the 'Legendary' BEACH CLUB, you automatically knew, you were going to see a great band, a full house, and most of your friends from every high school within a 100 miles of Myrtle Beach, SC ! ( One other thing: almost every person attending, sang word for word, every song performed )
HELLO , @19491 TOMMY , I SAW THEM AT THE HOLIAY INN IN MYRTLE BEACH, SC. I WAS AT A TABLE, MAURICE CAME UP TO ME WITH THE MIKE AND SAID I LOOKED LONELY, JOHN FROM NORTH CAROLINA.
I was eagerly waiting to hear who was taking the falsetto part... Wow! Right on, great tune. It's become of Jackson Brown's biggest tunes!
R.I.P. David Lindley (1944-2023)
It's tight, it's slow, it's low, it's high, it's two songs in one... so much going on in this song...
Shortest #1 hit of all time .
Cannot express how beautiful that Song is 🎶🎶🎶🥰🇺🇸
All these men have great voices and classy style love this song
My son and I sing this together. Love the falsetto part. Such a pleasure.
I have LOVED this song since seeing "Dirty Dancing" about 100 or so times. ☺️
Hahahah same here ;)
@@unknown-ou3uf Awesome! I had the entire soundtrack memorized from that show. 😏
Only 100?😅
@@mentak2593 hahaha 😂
That was 4 years ago. I've added another 57 or so times. Lol j/k 😂🤣🤣😂
Magnificent as hell…so proud to belong that generation…
I LOVE THIS SONG... 👍~~😍
I love them so much....
I can hear this tune again and again!! It brings me so good vibes!!! Very sweet voices 🥰 !
Ach wat schön, einfach wieder gute Musik zu hören, die so schön ist 😍🙌🏻❤️Dieses fehlt Uns in dieser harten Zeit!Einfach nur schön allgemein die älteren Songs zu hören😊🙌🏻
We were singing the "please stay just a little bit longer" and had to hear the good version. Thanks.
This song brings back so many great memories!
It’s the piano with the incredible vocals that bring this song together
1:14 - *best piano glissando ever!*
Still love this song in 2024!!!
The song so good but short. If it'd only stay a little bit longer...
Stay by Maurice, The Duke of Earl by Gene, Come Go With Me by the Del Vikings... are at the top of my playbook.
My favourite song of all time
out of all the guys, the biggest dude can sing the high note haha that is awesome
Wow, haven’t heard this version in decades! This brings back good memories.
HELLO, I SAW THE ZODIACS IN MYRTLE BEACH, SC AT THE HOLIDAY INN, A FEW YEARS AGO, JOHN FROM NORTH CAROLINA.
Pure class
I used to love singing along with that falsetto voice. I still sing along with it, just that at 81 I'm not all that good anymore.
B4 I watched the video I said to myself that big dude kinda resembles my favorite boxer. Then low and behold.... an angelic pitch sold the similarity 🥊🤪⚰💀😇🤣🤣
The first version I heard of this song was by Jackson Browne. When I looked it up, I found that lots of other groups and singers covered this song.
I did the same thing
Yes. I like Jackson Brown’s version to but these guys bring back some wonderful memories.
That is a bitchin' falsetto!
Outstanding.
Love it! Great song!
This is the Original "Stay" from Dirty Dancing Films The Zodiacs 1967!
Why does it say ASBESTOS above the singers?!?! Weird 😮
Recorded in a Quonset hut on Shakespeare Road on the coldest day in Jan 1960.
Just a little of Columbia, SC and her contribution to popular music long before Hootie and the Blowfish.
I love it❤ its really great to see the image of the singer at that time ❤️
So gooooood..... Legends.......i love it .....old good music never dies..........😎😎😎😎😎
This is groovy, I love it encor
Now that's what I been talk'n bout!
A good song. I love his high vpice.
Love these guys.
All time favorite song, was before my time, but I love it.
Amazing!👍🏿
This tune is a stone groove
Beautiful
Beautiful record ta
SUPER AWESOME ❤️
Just noticed it says "asbestos" in the background..... curious why?
the word asbestos refers to the fire retardant used in the golden days of vaudeville. It was common to see it on stage curtains to give a feeling of security against fire danger(there were stages using gas flame stage lights) I think it was just a decoration for the T.V. show here. By the way, asbestos is cancer causing and banned.
My favorite song ❣️
Merci pour cette voix tellement belle ! Et forte ! Ça me met de bonne humeur !
Maurice was gorgeous...still is. When he smiles (much less sings)😘 see Pittsburg Gold for more.
May he rest in peace beautiful sound great songs
Fantasist song!
this is music😊
The movie Windstruck brought me here!!
Awesome song man
That Falsetto is BIG TIME I'm this song!!
For Real!!
🗣♊️👤Rising
All the playback used in these tv appearances used in those days! Lol
Great!!!!!
this is good music
God bless the grandfather
Wow!!
Legendary
Adorooo
Nice video
Now that’s talent
Beautifol song
Let me go to those years, please....
Bussin’
Super voix les gars
Good,good,good,....
BAD ASS!
The falsetto singer is amazing, he could have a great solo career! Maurice Williams is a good leader! but the falsetto whaou and now sometimes his part is sung by women! great song!
Big mod hit here in the UK.
I always thought the temptations song this. I thought the falsetto was Eddie Kendrick’s. WOW..
I wasnt expecting the falsetto to be the biggest guy in the group 😂. The funny thing is I am 6'1" 220 and I used to be able to do that part. Kids dont smoke it will ruin your voice.
Where….where has this music gone?
The song was 7 years old in 1967, and that style of music
was no longer popular.
These guys jubilant here like the Intruders in Cowboys and Girls video.
Gorgeas song
❤
Narito ako dahil sa WINDSTRUCK (2004) Korean film. 😅😂
0:16 Joe Dirt, we found your Dad
Would have never guessed the bug guy had the high falsetto
