this kinda solo talk also quite nice to do, can see reddit to see what topic trending like asksingapore i see many young folks in their 20s say job market weak cannot find job, then comment on your views for this issue

Teaching to software engineering? Interesting. Money wise it makes sense but as far as stability, the constant fear of being laid off is ever present. The market has never been this volatile. Even with 7 years of experience, getting laid off in software engineering is death sentence if you have a family and bills. The market is saturated with skilled engineers all competing for the same job due to the lay offs. So if a person is comfortable with volatility and accept that they can be laid off at any time no matter how good your are then go for it.
This comment is only valid for US citizens btw.
Also idk how I got here. RUclips is pushing small creators in the algorithm which is good. So take this like 👍

Thanks for watching, appreciate it! ☺️ and yes I agree, job stability is definitely one thing that I gave up with this career switch, and having to accept that one is replaceable at any time. Your comment is definitely applicable in Singapore as well actually. Competition is stiffer than ever so I can see where you’re coming from.
At this point in my life, I’m able to handle the volatility thankfully, and with all the other positive changes I have had in my work life balance and pay, I do think it’s worth the trade-off despite having had to start over in this new career. I do worry about being replaced at times as well but I’m thankful that at least I’ll always have my teaching qualifications to fall back on at least.
But overall, thanks for the really relevant realistic advice and I think it’s something that the viewers of this video should really consider if they’re intending to switch careers!
