The old Jeep is a fantastic find. Be great for up at HevyAcres as a bush buggy. A useable/safe gas tank and she'll be ready to go. Idles really nice. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
That's a mid-50s to early 60s CJ-5, I would guess. The engine is a F4-134 "Hurricane" rated at 75hp and realistically pushing about 60 (lol). You are correct about one set of valves in the block and the other in the head- this engine upgraded the original L134 flathead 4 "Go-Devil" that came in the flatfender Willys beginning in 1944. Cool little jeep, super fun and easy to work on. 👍
That's like a 54 jeep i think. Old Jeeps are really popular around here because of all the narrow mountain dirt roads that are around to explore . Ive been tempted to get one a couple times. Ive never been much of a jeep guy..but i could be
That's a cool old Jeep...I think there's several businesses that cater to that era of Jeep, so you should be able to get the parts you need to make it run and stop reliably.
@@MrHevyshevy The last vid from NNKH shows a guy who is selling parts/Jeeps relatively inexpensive (because his landlord told him to get rid of some stuff stored outside). Don't know if he has fitting parts for your Willys Jeep but asking never costs a thing. Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you.
Love the Jeep. What are your plans for it??? Clean up the rust and a olive drab paint job with a white star on the hood maybe??? I'll be watching....lol!!!😊 Mike
I think I’d be yanking that electric power steering out of that donor car, you never know when a electric powered rack and pinion steering unit might come in handy! Do they make a conversion kit for disc brakes for the Jeep, especially cause we’re putting an LS in it?
Thanks for sharing this video with us
Man! You have the coolest toys! You’re gonna have fun with that old Jeep.
I hope so!
This is your best will-it-run video yet
Thanks
That Willys is an overhead valve. I had a ‘46 that was a flathead. That thing could climb a tree at an idle.

As soon as I get some brakes it’ll be right.

Congratulations! 🎉 Quite a great Hooptie. Maybe the best off road vehicle you could get. Waylon Wire will definitely love it.
Hope so!
That Jeep sounds really good, kinda sounds like an LS is needed! Lol
Your boy is a little less'" cowboy" than Dad.That is good for a new driver with a LS-BMW!
