00:01 🕖 The workday starts at 7:00 AM. 00:31 💡 Job involves installing spotlights and fixing a lighting fault in a porch. 01:25 🔧 Cutting 700 trays for cable management, using a jigsaw and conduit. 02:58 🔌 Planning to pass 16 cables through drilled holes, sealing them afterward. 03:53 📏 Working with existing tray for cable routing, planning cable runs.
Minimum labour plus overheads at £1000, plus (materials x 1.25) . That is how I would have estimated it for a project budget when still working. However, would have added 30% to allow the bean counters to shave the project and justified their "contribution".
To long retired to estimate a price , but have done similar jobs to the one your doing . Working alongside air conditioning guys , it was always difficult to get an answer to how many amps the units would actually take . Which would often result in us over sizing the cables , just wondering if you have had a similar experience . Kind regards to you both
£200 materials £250 labour inc 1hours fault find while apprentice is marking and cutting the holes for lights. Then depends if it pg tips or yorkshire tea on the final bill
Materials GBP1100, labour GBP1,500, total 2600 excluding VAT. That would include identifying the fault on the 2 extension lights, but exclude repairing the fault unless the repair took less than an hour and GBP50 in materials.
@@Cjrelectrical Putting the labour to one side, my estimate on the materials was more than 10 times higher than I expected for 11 spotlights (with mark-up) wow... I guess if I was a sparky, I would see very few contracts :)
3 spots in porch, should be straightforward, allow an hour, £200 incl materials and fittings. Tripping £100. 8 spots, £500. Material £200. Labour £500, Total £1500 plus VAT
