    2:36 I'm not a spark with with the original board, it seems like many of the old connections have too much copper exposed

    I used to find the problem with the earth terminals only used to take up to 16mm and that was 15 years ago you would have thought that consumer unit manufacturers would have made one of the terminals to take 25mm considering this is now more the norm. The video stopped a bit abruptly at the end Chris.

    Hi why not just replace Hager RCDs for Hager Rcbos and link the neutral bars together with a linking kit although i do not think hager have ever been called cheap before.

    Don’t even need to watch the video to answer the question. The simple answer is because it’s a Hager, so that’s the only reason ever needed to swap it out 😂

      @Cjrelectrical  20 дней назад +1

      Absolutely yes. Few reasons we didn’t.
      It’s in a cupboard along with lots of other surface mounted tech.
      Lots of cables running behind in zone.
      Cables coming from top and bottom of board so would of had to cut out lots more plasterboard to juggle it in the gap.
      Solid brick wall behind so board would of still protruded 25-30mm.
      With this certain install adding circuits at a later date will be easier on surface.
      Anything else ….. it was Friday
      Oh yes fire grommets are really expensive and the budget didn’t allow for them.

      Never had any problems I believe but yes rcbos will solve most earth leakage overloads as effectively we’ve now got 16 rcds instead of 2
