I bought a couple of the stencils a while ago, but hadn’t used them. So thanks to your video reminding me, I printed one pattern on newsprint which is what I use for foundation paper piecing. It’s about the same price as copy paper, but thinner. Note that it may not go through your printer. My 15 -year-old HP wouldn’t feed it, but my new printer has no problem. The results are amazing! I still need to get my hands moving in synch with the speed of the machine, but I don’t have to think about WHERE to stitch-only HOW to stitch. This will be a game changer for this FMQ frustrated quilter! Thanks, Leah!
Using ordinary copy paper because you may already have it on hand and it saves money because you aren't buying an expensive 'specialty' paper...simple/brilliant! Your philosophies and methods always make sense and seem to help me. Thankyou Leah!
It's funny - the most common response to using normal copy paper is - this is too easy! Quilters seem to want to make it complicated (or more expensive) and it doesn't have to be. I have reams and reams of copy paper on hand and when I found it worked for this, it just made sense to use it. I'm so glad you appreciate this and will give it a go!
Thanks for this yes I skipped ahead. Im having issues with the regulator and freaked out when I put the pedal on. I’m waiting on the stencils. But I like the-paper idea.
It's good to learn how to use your machine both ways. I tend to use my foot pedal more because that's what I'm used to. I hope you're feeling more comfortable with it now!

Paper stencils to print and follow will be more affordable than some of the other marking techniques I've researched, thank you!
You are so welcome! Glad you found this helpful!
Very interesting. I may be strange but I love to tear out the papers from foundation paper piecing. This looks like fun!
Me too! I really enjoyed tearing the paper away from my stitches. It’s weirdly satisfying.
I love the scaffolding these stencils provide on the road to FMQ. And your energy is just charming.
Aw! Thank you so much!
I am so happy you did this for us. I will be sure to try some. Thanks 🎶💐💖🫂

Bought 3 of these designs earlier this month Thank you for the method of this baby quilt. Method is much easier and than dealing with color ways.

Could you use these stencils on a longarm?
I'm actually testing this today to see! It's been the #1 question about them!
