@@JNet-fv9dtwell the trailers editors has little to work with. The movie is about nothing. It's 3 short stories with the same actors. Boring storylines with no plot spoken slowly. Why? I don't know. Maybe the director is poking fun at people who assume boring movies are "artful" and "esoteric". The gag is on the audience.

Saw it tonight. You will never regret going to see this in cinema. Longish but keeps you riveted for every scene.

Riveted? The writing is so cliché and boring, my eyes rolled so far back I ended up watching the projectionist. There is no deeper meaning. If you like these filmmakers, just watch Poor Things again and skip this

TRIGGER WARNING: This is not a comedy!!! I would strongly advise against watching the film for people who have a high level of empathy or people who have had bad experiences with abuse of power. The film definitely has the potential to trigger trauma. Please be careful with yourself and those around you and communicate this, because the trailer doesn't make this clear!! I think it's absolutely negligent to declare something like this a comedy. My personal experience with the film: I just find the film brutal, disgusting, disturbing and, despite the strong emotions, extremely boring. I left the cinema after about 3/4 of the time because, after suffering for several minutes during the film, I had given up hope that the film would get better. The film obviously just wants to shock. And it does that too. It shows sadism and masochism at its worst. I'm concerned about people who only get pleasure from watching something like this. I think or hope that the film will (also) evoke extremely negative emotions in most people. Depending on your personality structure and the extent of your own sadistic psychopathic parts, this film will resonate differently with people. This is the only meaning I can derive from this film. As Emma Stone herself says of the film: “It’s the moment of truth”. Anyone who has less of their own strong manifestations of dark traits (sadism, psychopathy, narcissism, Marchiavallism) and wants to be in a bad mood and constantly disgusted should watch it, but perhaps also think about why that has to be the case. Otherwise, a big trigger warning for people with a lot of empathy and a recommendation from me to simply save the money or go to another film instead.

tw a movie about control has elements of control in it who would've thought. also most of yorgos' previous work has the same level of vulgarity so i can only assume you went in utterly blind for this film
HORRIBLE. A WASTE OF TIME. DON’T PAY FOR THIS
Yorgos is getting worse with each film. Dogtooth, Lobster, and Sacred deer all showed how much he was growing as a director and it was fun to follow. Poor things just felt like he was so in love with himself and wanted to experiment while forgetting he had an audience to entertain. And this film felt like a complete throwaway outside of Plemmon's performance. Also, the reason why we all root for Jesse is because he looks like us.
0:54 this is the second time Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe are both working together on the new movie, after poor things movie release last year.
In conventional movie trailer editing, that last shot after the title card is usually reserved for a tease of some sorts, usually a cameo or a returning actor or some glub shitto only die hard fans have heard of. But with this movie that last shot is just some dogs driving a car lol

Hunter seemed to be in it just to show off her body. I was expecting a larger role. Very strange movie.
I was disappointed too that Hunter didn’t get a larger role. But I believe that she will get a bigger role in the next film that Yorgos will make.
Kind of like with Margaret Qualley in Poor Things. Margaret had a small role in Poor Things, but in Kinds of Kindness, she played a more important role. So, I’m hoping that this is what Yorgos would intend to do with Hunter, too.
The movie is weird as hell probably Lanthimos' weirdest but most creative as well.

Meh - the best part of the movie is Emma Stone's dance moves, and you can watch that in the trailer. Furthermore, it's as if she was just doing it impromptu on the set and they decided to throw it in the movie. If you want to compare this to Poor Things... I guess you could, but Poor Things is, to me, BRILLIANT, whereas Kinds of Kindness is a half-baked afterthought. Both are about playing God, but one is altruistic and the other is sociopathic. In fact, that might be another plus of this movie - it allows you compare the altruistic and practical world of Poor Things to the sociopathic world of Kinds of Kindness.
