The opposition was capitalising on Airbus' screw-up. Sorry Boeing..... your huge screw up even extended to the space vehicle which needed to be a abandoned by its crew.
"... a major airline has grounded its A330neo fleet ..." Well, this "fleet" consists of exactly ONE aircraft which had just been delivered just some days earlier (what the spoken text then correctly reports). So why then the bombastic exaggeration? In aviation, the term "grounding" usually refers to a mandatory instruction by an aviation authority to immediately suspend the operation of a certain type or series of aircraft. We had the 737 MAX grounded, the "Dreamliner", now the 777X test fleet. The A330neo was not grounded, nowhere in the world, never.
In my mind, the strident tone of the airline's current CEO is reassuring. For too long, the airline's CEOs have been lame ducks; when they deal with western counterparts, they're like shrinking violets. May this current CEO stay firm.
It was "Grounded" for 48 hours, and most of that would be waiting for the spare part to be flown out. It seems Airbus and RR were very attentive. I wonder who made that part...........?
STUPID channel - Stupid and outdated and click bait. After being grounded for a couple of days, Malaysia Airlines has reinstated its new Airbus A330neo for its Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne route. Malaysia airline "MAS" never recovered from the missing airline in sea and the downing of it's plane over in eastern Ukraine. The constant problems plagued by the poor maintenances and technical failures of planes causing many aborted or grounded flights appearing in social media news. Why is it only the delivery of the Neo airbus happened in our country and not other countries who received the same airbus? Note : There are 145 aircraft in service with 21 operators as of November 2024 (2 years service record). The five largest operators of A330neo are Delta Air Lines (31), TAP Air Portugal (19), Condor (17), ITA Airways (11) and Cebu Pacific (9).
It will be traced back to that faulty part which would have been through Quality Control and certified serviceable to be installed into the engine. No? RR will trace it back to the supplier of that specify part that was faulty. Almost like, failed on fitment, to ground a new aircraft.
Nothing wrong with the plane, it's the personnel issues. Malaysia are famous for spending billions of dollars on infrastructures such as stadiums, roads , rails, planes, submarines, planes and helicopters...but they simply lack the expertise to maintain it. They are a country with first class infrastructures but with 3rd world mentality. It's not a surprise really, as the country has suffered from years of mismanagement, corruption and abuse of power. Only now, with the new PM Anwar in power, there is genuine hope that the country will prosper and establish itself as a new economic power.
C919 could actually be safer given that only old but mature technologies are used. Only that it's not efficient to operate. When it involves new technologies, it would also involve changes to assembly processes and quality checks on the factory floor. Often flaws in such new processes and checks need time to reveal themselves. This MAS case is considered a classic feedback from customers and is not unexpected. I believe they have well established procedures to address such feedbacks to make this plane model all the more safe not just for passengers of MAS but that of other airlines. And this is also a learning opportunity for other manufacturers that are watching. In that sense, a setback can be a blessing in disguise.
Commercial aircraft manufacturers fro China and Russia should come in as to replace this void and not rely on Airbus and Boeing anymore. This is a fact. Period.
You are so ignorant. Russia is the most sanctioned country in the world now. Their currency Rubel is not even trading as it's value is now less than USD 0.01 Russia is going back to times worst than the USSR. They don't have any commercial aircraft that any airline would want to use if they have a choice. Russia doesn't make anything without foreign components and since they're being sanctioned that going to be a very very very long time.
