Thank for showing us the actual size of the free space we get. Almost everyone else I’ve watched never bothered showing or checking it out so this helps a bit more for me.
Looks like a super easy install for the M.2 drive, thanks! Still running a PS4 slim right now but likely will grab the PS5 slim this month. Looking at adding the Corsair MP600 Pro LPX 1TB hard drive since it's gotten great reviews and is reasonably priced. I could also plug my existing 2TB external USB mechanical hard drive into the back as cannon fodder LOL. I was not impressed with the PS Plus price increase a couple of months back and will unfortunately downgrade my membership during the upcoming Black Friday sales when my Premium membership expires.
I'm a computer nerd, so forgive me if I say something that people don't understand... This video answered the one question I couldn't find an answer of after a lot of Googling: How does the PS5 handle the M.2 SSD? A) Does it use the drive in RAID with the internal drive? (internal drive + SSD = seen as a single drive.) B) Does it read it as a second drive, showing 2 separate drives. I was expecting A, but it turns out to be B. Interesting, but not bad.
As long as you ps5 is on the same account and it’s converted to your primary system it makes sense the SSD extension would still let you play the games. Works the same if you have a external ssd with steam
(this is an old video ,...i know) @10:20....... at the bottom of that menu...it says "KEEP IN HOME" that's how you PIN it to the home screen so you can see it....
I just installed a SSD in my new PS5 Slim, I watched many videos for before buying the SSD and watched how to install one. It seemed straight forward and easy but the SSD doesn't even register. No pop up when I turned the power on and it's no where in the settings menu. I tried reinstalling it again just in case and it still doesn't even show up when I powered the PS5 up. Any suggestions?
The PS5 Slim has the sake power as the normal PS5, but put into a smaller model. People are also thinking the design looks weird, and the disc drive seems to be sticking out more
@@kimlovesmilfsHey buddy. Not yet. Still waiting for some ideas, but only one thing what it could helps, is formating manualy the SSD. So If you are able to connect Ssd to Pc, try to format and try again. Maybe that is could works. 🤞🏼 but If you solve the problem, please let me know 🙏🏽
@Marcthegeek i used an ethernet cable to transfer save date to my new ps5 slim. So hopefully that's enough and once i transfer some games to the new SSD it will be possible to use the saved games.
Does anyone know if you can install an internal ssd upgrade AND use an external usb ssd at the same time? None of the videos seem to cover this question.

@@Marcthegeek This is the main reason I'm gonna get a 2TB WD SSD instead of an external hard drive because you don't need to transfer PS5 games from device to storage when you use an SSD. Main culprit for taking up space is COD, 200+ GB.
